I try to be aware of other's firing lanes so more often than not I will jump in the "back row" when engaging so I'm not jumping in LoF. I main officer so missing out on a couple of pistol shots is nbd. I sometimes get a little "jumpy" though (moving back and forth too quickly to avoid fire), so when I toss my flashbangs they hit a column/doorway/ceiling?!?! and come right back at me. Yes, I'm one of those guys :s I will avoid setting it off if teammates are around but I'm pretty good at timing them so I know when to turn away (helps with incoming now too). Other than myself, the only players I'm not fond of are those that don't PTFO. Hate the squad shields though, much rather everyone run with a turret.

I only use a squad shield when necessary. For example, when activating or deactivating a objective to protect myself or my teammates when doing so.

I agree I hate it for heroes, land vehicles, starfighters, gunships, special units etc. there is a way i suggested that would fix this. I suggested this since BF3. I call it the dib system. They can find a better name for it but simply, using Battlefront 2 battlepoint system in this case, You pay down 6000/8000 points for the character you want and when it becomes available to use the first in the dib queue line gets it and continues down the list.

So say 5 min in I have enough to use by Bossk, but someone already has him, but I want nothing else right now but to play as bossk, well I drop 6000/8000 points on that character and when the person using him dies, I get first call, unless someone else was in line before me. I pay the BP, must be paid in full no small contributions just to get first in line, and the after that I can go back to playing. When the option becomes available, a notification says "play as bossk?" and you have the option to say no, and get all your points back and forfeit the ability to play him or hit yes and you will immediately be respawned in as Bossk and your points will be spent. You have 15/30 seconds to decide or it goes to the next player. You can also decide to, when you are back in queue to cancel and decide to change your mind and invest o a different loadout like maybe play as a starfighter instead if you decided to no longer wait.

This very much is similar to the original Star Wars Battlefront 2 where if you played well ad you earned the chance to be a hero you were presented with the option and if you chose no or didn't select in time, it went to the next player but if you hit yes you would immediately be respond in as that hero.

So this is a perfect working system, if only DICE can make it happen. I keep posting about this because then it gets rid of the clutter of players not in match no contributing because they are all sitting in queue spamming the select button. So there is only gain from this, 0 loss as you are getting more players back into the fight and players have a chance to play as the hero without waiting in queue. In fact I might make post about this because we need this badly.

I get antsy if I'm in game and not playing. Longest I waited in queue for a Hero ship was maayyybe three seconds. :p

I get agitated though when I'm killed, get to the ship select menu, see there are no Hero ships available, select my regular ship, and see a hero ship pop up right after me in the spawn screen. Grrrrr.
  • Pretty much all of them. Hate multiplayer games most times because of all the one sided matches. Would love to see some duels added though...

@Spiito now I'm really confused. You quoted me saying something about a 'blockaded entrance... unwinnable fight' but i looked through this entire thread and can't for the life of me work out when I said it? It might have quoted from a different thread or something. Just really confused, I might be being really blind.

Also, despite having no idea when I said that, Strike on Endor is actually one of my favourite Strike maps. It's just waiting for someone to have the courage to run out with the package, and now there's actually a fight for the package at the start as well (i think they changed the imperial spawns). A while ago as Rebels I had a slightly unbalanced match in that the Imperials just had better organisation than us (or so it seemed, it might have been that it was a 6v8), and they managed to get us down to ~20 tickets before we picked up the package. Also I once got a 34 streak on it. With a pretty bad officer. Just used the standard gun, and, I'm pretty sure, no cards other than purple IBC (I got deluxe edition lol).

*Goes to page one, ctrl+F's DrX2345 ... sees their one post. It's not the post I was replying to.* Wth, what was I replying to then? *Ctrl+F a blockaded entrance way trying to fight an unwinnable fight, instead of finding another way.* Oh ReyZaBurrel said that. . . but then ... Why-How...? This forum!!!
I must have wanted to reply to you at some point, navigated away from the page without doing so, later came back to an unfinished but saved draft, then deleted that response in favor of quoting ReyZaBurrel, but clearly I messed up. Or something. I don't know that was a few days ago. A lot of times I'll want to reply to someone but end up not doing that.
I'm still getting used to how this forum operates. The only two notifications I've ever gotten in my time being here has been the one reply in my created topic, and just now when you summoned me with the use of the at symbol. ... I've probably left a few conversations unattended because I'm not being notified when people quote me. :s
*TLDR* My apologies. I'm a bit of a noob on this forum. I meant to quote someone else. ...I'm a bit of scatter-brain, sometimes.

Yeah. I like Strike's Endor too, it's a good design in terms of collecting Overtime bonuses. It's just what ReyZaBurrel said reminded me of Endor... because it's only got one massive exit that has no alternative route to leave from. Which tends to cause a bit of clumping. (On the left and on the right.) Great kill streak! The Officer's standard blaster is ...the worst, but you made it work for you, nice job~ :)

Non objective players. Earlier tonight there was someone who had 54 eliminations and 12,000 points. I had 3 eliminations and 6,000 points. Needless to say we lost that match. And I kind of blame that person for losing because its obvious he didn't play obj lol. It was so so close, I did all I could but that wasn't enough. Maybe he did do a little something, I dunno.

Its like he could only get that many because our team beat enough obj to keep going without prematurely ending the match.

Hey its just a game, but it would be nice if there was more incentive to play objectives. I honestly don't know what could be done for that. More challenges, more crafting parts given away?

    Three types...
    1. Officers that don't heal when they can see everyone is down on health then run away and heal themselves.
    2. Snipers (specialists) who set up their tents at the back of a map with their pork-n-beans and get 3 kills all round.
    3. People that farm kills instead of ptfo'ing...i understand the game is set up to play however you want and getting kills does help your team but if someone doesn't set the 'whatever' or get in the 'capture zone' you cannot move on to the next phase; imo - kill streaks should not be in this game.

People ranting at other players and raging, Had it in HVV at the weekend the poor guy getting raged at apologized and said he was new at it, i encouraged him and said he was doing ok, great get in there and learn he did rather well after a couple of rounds but that didn't appease the ***** raging at him.
Or the ones raging in GA who have crap kills and crap points telling everyone else what to do (i did tell one person to shut the f*** up and play or else F*** off) apologies to any others in that game but his constant whining got on my pip, especially as he was crap anyway.

i should point out that judging a person based on their eliminations and points doesn't mean much regarding one's skill in this game. there are many factors as to their low numbers: they play objective while entire team focuses on kills, one-sided matches, spawn camping/getting killed within seconds of every respawn. I've been in each instance, meanwhile the high number players on the other side are rude and say, in effect "get gud noob". That just makes it worse.

ragers that rage at everyone and everything when things are going fairly well are annoying though. i usually try to avoid getting upset over lag (the thing that usually gets me angry) and team/the thing(s) i've mentioned in this thread when things go fairly well. If the team is doing a decent job at defending even when a loss is likely, it's a good match because everyone *tried*. it's those that don't or won't that get under my skin.
    Dc-15le fatty users.

guilty as charged. The DC-15 part, not the fatty part. even if they fix the cooling problem, i will still be using it. i worked to get it, i will use it. it's there. but if it makes you feel better, i use it when needed and am working on the TL-50.

Players that run the CR-2, BLURRG, etc. that are kinda broke by default complaining about DC-15le explosive shot. Heroes doing the same about that and the explosive sentry. if you (not you Devastator personally) are a cr-2, blurrg, or se-45 (think that's right) or hero user and are complaining about them taking you down fast, stop whining. that's what it's been like for us when you come at us.

People that rage when things are fine, going well enough. (lag is my bane as it makes me feel so useless when i know what i could be contributing, then people call me bad, esp when i see said player holding back and hiding from the obj)

People that tell those upset at their team to "get gud" when things are going bad and obviously one-sided. just tell them that it will shuffle soon, or to just go find another server after the match. that's far better than the childish insult of "get gud".

"So long as you continue to be so predictable I need not face you at all. You are your own worst enemy".- Tassadar

Did someone beat you in the game fairly and you're upset? Was it not bugged or due to lag or a hack and it made you cry? Then please fill out this form and follow it's instructions for sending to the appropriate people.

Just curious what type of annoying players do you deal with the most when playing Battlefront 2?

For me, out of the players that camp and never contribute to the team, the plays that sit in queue all day for 1 vehicle to become available, the player that gets a hero or vehicle and then barely uses it all match and then hides the majority of the time, or the player that stands next to the player getting the most points, but doesn't do anything but draw attention because he thinks "if i stand next to the MVP then the points will rub off on to me because that's how points work". I have to say the most annoying goes to the players that walking into your line of fire. They see you shoot but don't care and walk in front and block your ability to shoot. I hate team killing friendly fire but I almost want DICE to turn it on because even if you get kicked for too many TKs I'm okay with it if it means making players realize you are walking into other teammates sentry gun fire so get out of the way. I would just like to inflict damage to them to tell them "you are being rude, get out of my line of fire. find your own place to shoot". I would be okay with TKing only 1 or 3 before getting kicked. I am really considering that because there are moments where i am holding back the enemy and our team is doing great, and then a scrub walks in and ruins it.

That's my most annoying. What is yours?

  • I have to say 2nd are the speeder bike cheapskate players who play 200 for a bike, ram it into heroes. They said they fixed it but i just tried it. killed 2 heroes with 1 speeder bike. 200 BPs used to waste 12000 BPs from 2 hard working players that finally earned the ability to play as a hero and took no skill at all and in seconds single-handedly took them out on Endor. I did this after the round before I had it done to me as Bossk. This is ridiculously cheap. They need to change it to were speeder bikes only do 100 points of damage per hit so you can't do something like this. http://xboxdvr.com/gamer/Sgt Fergus/video/45681750

They said heroes are suppose to be hard to take down that at best a well coordinated squad, 4 players, can take down a hero at the smallest level. So for 1 trooper to do that is definitely *****.

I agree with everything except the shooting ATST part. I roll with Officer. If you think I'm going 1v1 vs an ATST with a pistol then you have unreasonable expectations. Sorry.

That said. If some dude driving an ATST is wrecking my team then I'll consider switching to heavy and making them pay. But that is my choice to abandon my preferred class to focus on a vehicle. It is not an obligation.

I'm not saying go 1 on 1 with them, because that's pointless if you're an officer. But all self-repairing vehicles need to be given a certain amount of DPM to be beaten - below that they can just tank it, and if they can heal more than you can damage them, then attacking them is pointless. However, it can be a very effective strategy to pester AT-STs so they turn round and try to get one individual player, breaking off from attacking a more significant target and turning the more vulnerable rear side towards the main group of your teammates.
You need to do whatever will benefit your team most.

i got a fix for that
  • When I finally have enough battle points for a hero, the one I want to play as is already being used and I find the hero afk-ing in the corner doing nothing and using one of the cheapest heroes from your faction, that really triggers me, it happened in this one game and I just put in chat that he is hiding and one of the enemy heavies grenades him
  • ya here it is, how to get reported by salty plays by using a 200 BP bike to kill 2 heroes that are worth together 12000 BP. Don't worry this is totally an okay move and totally not something that should get fixed. http://xboxdvr.com/gamer/Sgt Fergus/video/45789195

A salty player who wasn't fast enough to grab a hero, and you do, so they follow you around shooting you and jumping in front of you.

Players who are a full heath hero but won't push the objective when low on tickets.

Players standing in the spawn shooting at walls.

i have seen them all. I'm pretty sure both leia cross map killing will get nerfed just like boba's rocket back in battlefront 1. And explosive shot from DC15 will also get nerfed in next patch.
  • The most annoying player I have every played with was a guy on the death star 2 map who while I was securing one of the objectives and it was almost done, the player protecting me deliberately wandered off leaving me to get vanguarded in the back, he comes in, kills the enemy and secures the objective. Just because I got there first and he wanted the 1000 battlepoints for finishing to secure it.
  • People who jump directly in front of you when you're throwing a grenade, so it bounces back and lands at your feet.
Yoda/Finn players who don't use their team buff at all.
Reys who don't use their Insight.
Anyone who doesn't play the objective.
People who won't shoot AT-STs because they think it's somebody else's job.
Teammates on HvV who are neither defending me as the target, nor are they attacking the enemy target (you know when it's happening because the entire enemy team is on your a rs e beating you up, and you are going "guys... guys, where are you?")

I can't understand anyone not using the Yoda buff. I love zooming around giving out buffs like Father Christmas if I can. Also, Rey's ability is awesome for her on her own even if you are being a selfish player so I can't understand anyone not using that.

Officers who use battle command as soon as we spawn to use us for points.

Although... I have my solution to that. ;)

    pH

i admit it i do this. exactly for the reason stated. although i am god awful at ground combat so the points are desperately needed. SA is my mode of choice.

Yeah, I also do this for exactly the same reason and it is a bit of a blag. The thing is though that it gets you the points which might make you more affective as a hero later on and usually you can use your command again before people actually get into combat so you actually give them a proper buff.

Yes, it's weird. I can only think that it must be id1ots who don't understand what the abilities do, which you could understand with Finn and his weird right ability (which I can never remember what it does apart from make it harder to shoot people). But it's pretty clear cut with Rey and Yoda and Big Deal.

I would also like to nominate: Stormtroopers in Ewok Hunt who come up and stand next to me while I'm hiding, except they wave their flashlight around constantly so the Ewoks can find us and kill us both.
Also, Rebel players who make no effort to reach the objective, but who just think they can win by having a Mexican standoff in the Death Star. I was the only player on my whole team to try to activate the objectives today.
  • Im probably in the minority because I dont mind players not playing the objectives (obviously a full team not playing the would suck, but a few out of a team of 20 I really dont care about), I dont care about players hiding or camping or anything really.

There ARE 4 types of people who I dont really like, but eh. I cant see most of them mentioned so far :)

    1. Players who leave their part of the map to try and get easy kills on enemies. I've seen it happen a lot on Naboo during the second stage, mostly defending heroes will lightsaber enemies walking up the stairs and run back to their part of the map before the timer runs out. Ive also seen (once been the victim of, quite a few times seen) Stormtroopers on Endor during the first stage using Killstreak vanguard to leave their part of the map, kill all of the rebels trying to reach the indoor objective on both sides and be back on the Empire's side before the timer has run out. AND finally, on Starkiller Base, First Order players using the LIUV speeders doing loops (partly in, partly out of the map) to kill the Resistance a few feet after spawning. Annnnndddd that takes me to #2

    2. Players who use the LIUV speeders. Theyre completely pointless. The only maps where speeders are ok to use are, imo, Hoth and Crait. Speeder players either just chase each other or try to run over enemies with varying amounts of success. :P

    3. People who use the Vanguard speed increase to reach objectives sooner than everyone else immediately after spawning. I dont mind during the game, but I think for the first few minutes a game should be 100% fair with both teams reaching the objective at the same time (or defenders slightly before, because they ARE defending). Its probably just a pet hate, but eh

    4. Players who use Leia on big open maps like Crait, Endor, Hoth and Kashyyyk. Her secondary fire is so powerful tbh. I dont mind getting killed by heroes, not at all. But when out of any kind of reasonable range, OHK and you cant avoid it is a little meh. Bonus meh points for when you can see a big red bolt flying towards you :P

I guess for the most part Im basically fine with anything so long as a game stays fair. :)

Unfortunately, the aim assist on Leia's secondary fire lends itself to that playstyle perfectly - it ensures you pretty much can't miss.

    Yup :/

If a Specialist shoots me from across the map, I know that it kinda took some effort for them to spot me, line up the shot and hit me and I genuinely don't mind. With Leia, I know that they just had to aim in my general direction and the aim assist does the work. It always seems to happen a few seconds after spawning too.

This type. Cheap players that don't mind exploiting mechanics.

  • when it's the same player killing you every time. Especially when you just respawned.

Seems like me camping A-wing on Hot or Tie on Crait :-D

ones that choose the hero but refuses to play the objective. some people just wont sacrifice their hero for the objective. i hate when people dont push/lead as the hero. we could be attackers and the people hogging the heroes are in a constant state of running in killing 1 or 2 troopers then running back to regen while our team is running low on troops lol.
  • I feel like some players don't deserve the title to "Teammates" But rather should be called "****mates" because that is how bad they are.
