To be fair, the same should be said about Destiny 1. With that said, anyone who bought Destiny 2 straight away got what they deserved IMO. I got burned on Destiny 1 and refused to let it happen with 2. "Fool me once..."

On topic, I've moved on to other games for the time being. I never felt as if there was a massive exodus though (Xbox). I had an excellent time with the many, many hours I put in (all of my characters, heroes, enforcers and vehicles are purple maxed [I think four heroes have one blue card] and all of my ships are blue - I've rarely ever ungraded a ship). I'm not saying goodbye or good riddance, just until next time. I played it so much I burned myself out, which is really a complement to the game. The most memorable Star Wars gaming experience I've had since Star Wars Dark Forces.

Yah same happened with my friends. They felt robbed, but on the other hand knew it was their choice to be robbed.

Dark forces, Jedi academy, Tie Fighter, Star Wars Galaxies, Rogue Squadron N64, & Shadows of the Empire are some of my favorite games. Best fun had was in those games growing up.

And for me, it all started when I was 4 with the OT. Turning 33 in 14 days, My Love for Star Wars is as strong as ever dude!

We don't know that this game is "dying" because actual player counts seem to be hard to come by; it's not accurate to use such subjective adjectives. Are there issues and problems with the game? Absolutely.

  • So it was already called "A New Hope" when you were a kid? We're they the orginal versions on the remake special editions? For me it was just called Star Wars. No numbers or anything. They were just the movie names. None of them were called Episodes when I was a child watching them.

Dash is delusional, speaks like a true fanboy of EA... if there were ever such a thing.

    IKR, it's pretty cringey.

I've taken a break from this game in the small hope that they will actually fix the progression.

The defenders have gone from nonsensically defending the current progression to now praising the update that will come and fix all the problems.

At least they now admit it's hot garbage in it's current state.

I love this game's gameplay but I hate how the progression ruins the experience.

    Please fix this game DICE.

    Don’t care.

Also quick reminder to the both of you.

You may not like me, my positivity, or for whatever other reasons you gave yourself, but you Will understand this, No amount of crying about me will Ever stop me from being here for everyone else that actually gives a darn about this game and it’s future.

So cry all you want, say whatever you feel, I ain’t going Nowhere ladies. Not ever. Deal with it.

Wth are you blathering on about? lol

I give a big darn about this game. It's just you praise and defend DICE to almost no end.

    It's cringe-worthy.

I'm positive about this game's gameplay. I love GA, I love HvV, I love SA. I like Strike. I even like Blast a little. I LOVE STAR WARS(prolly more than you).

I will not stop being negative about their progression until it's fixed.

It's unacceptable that it's still taking this long to fix it.

That's why people still give this game a ton of flak, and deservedly so.

You may continue you unadulterated praise, I don't care.

I will continue to reflect reality versus the fantasy narrative you fanboys try to enforce on these forums.

Apparently your opinion of me matters more than this game. But I digress. You’re honestly not worth the time.

Wow, I put you in your place, great non-response lol

It's ok, you can't argue any of my points.

You(and your kind) will keep praising DICE, playing make believe that everything is great and I will keep condemning them for the horrible progression that is still not fixed in the real world.

I'll let you get back to you off-topic fast food discussion.

Is there truly a problem about being optimistic? I mean, There is no reason to continually discuss the point, and either way, your points aren't the subject of the thread anyway. So yes, please let us continue the point of this game might be in a slump, but certainly isn't dead. Either way, you are dismissed. Carry on to your other threads.

Cmon. Even you don't play this game for more than an hour at a time. Guaranteed.

Yes, the game is getting repetitive at this point, so I am saving crafting parts and credits for Season two. I’m not saying this game is dead, I’m saying it is in a depression of sorts. They just need to either let the devs speak freely, or at least try to give a basic roadmap, or hopefully get the new progression reworked.
You guys are gonna make me rich......

    WRONG !!!

This game died in 2017, not now, the only people backing this game anymore, are doing it for a few reasons...

    Only recently started playing.
    Are EA fanbois.
Haven't got a clue what a good game is if it slapped them in the face.

Ive spent more time in games 10 years old than in this.

Before it gets mentioned, Im here to vent my frustration at what a ****** game this has turned out to be, the sooner EA has their Star Wars license revoked the better, I mean who gives the worst gaming company in history exclusive rights to publish Star Wars games, a company renowned for ripping customers off and having no care at all for content over income.

Some of you need to wake up, at least 3 good Star Wars games have been shut down because the companies making them wouldn't agree to EA's monetisation of games, meaning they never got published.

Keep feeding the beast, you are the problem, this game is like smoking, you think its good, you think you need it.....Its bad and you dont, and it wont go away until you quit it.

I have honestly seen better games made by companies with 1/1000th of the budget and resources, how can a game be worse almost 1 year after launch than it was when it started./center]

Lucas supposedly had several plans. A New Hope he thought would be the easier to make (not that it was easy to make), and the best stand alone movie of all of them. It doesnt end on a cliff hanger. He was correct. He also didnt even know if the movie would be successful and wizards in space was turned down by multiple producers.

Turns out people really like wizards in space.

One of my favorite memories was standing in that long a$$ line to see Return of the Jedi opening night at the local mall in C-town (not that one in illi-noise - Cleveland, baby) and we were in the front row of those terribly uncomfortable seats with our heads tilted all the way back, the popcorn was cold and i spilled part of the Coke in my lap with everyone bumping into each other; management had to come in and clear out some people who snuck in through the fire exit - but the whole fam was there and we hit Denny's afterwards still wired off what we watched. That is a good memory - this silly forum got me feeling nostalgic, happy Friday...maybe a beer later and pop in the vhs (have the dvd and Blu-ray but there's something more authentic to the wolfman in the cantina and the weird looking Palp).

Yeah, after a spot of research, it seems it was added for the theatrical re-release on April 10th 1981. I guess this technically means VHS copies are not the original theatrical version as advertised.

I remember watching Star Wars (titled A New Hope now) on Beta (before VHS) and then watching The Empire Strikes Back that night...then had to wait all those years for Return of the Jedi. My older kids and i enjoyed (sometimes begrudgingly) the prequels and since my Wife and i started anew, my younger kids get to enjoy 7, 8 & 9 (and the offshoot stories). Most definitely it has been a trip (my older boy is still ticked at the p***y they made Luke in 8 but it'll pass). Might be a half day of work, grab the kids and go watch a movie ... and then the Wife screaming at me...heehee.

I swear my theatrical DVD copy of Star Wars does not say " Star Wars: A New Hope at the start of the scrolling text. It says it in close to the end of the scrolling text in the general body. Not in a tital way at alI, but I will look to verify. Just incase I am wrong.

  • This game did Not fail. You want to see Failure!? Take a long look at Destiny 2. Quite the Graveyard of Disappointment within that community. They were bamboozled, mislead, and robbed.

This game had a rough launch due to drama over crates. So what? Does that take away from how good the game is when you play it? Nope. Do people still have fun? Yup. I know I do.

And that man is leaving the company to do something else because he feels like it. Hence giving his notice. Not because the game is “Failing”.

Everyone has a difference in “Patience Level”. There is no difference in the definition of failure. And this game is No failure.

We’ve only scratched the surface. Once Progression is implemented the Content Schedule is back on course. Nothing else will be taking away/dividing resources/staff or manpower. It will all be content focused and Balance focused.

    Confused he is,

Yes, something positive for a change! Also from the man who once contradicted me at every turn, he is contradicting all the drama, the constant drama about this game!
If you're going to quit, no eulogy is needed.
Overall, this is a solid game that has flaws. Like D_G said, once they get all the fixes in, then they could work on adding more content. It does have that "dead in the water" feeling right now, but don't worry sunshine, there will be new content some day soon. There are so many games (see Capcom) that put a game out and that's it - "take it or leave it, but that's what you're getting." I think expectations are way too high and the need for instantaneous gratification. The game has been out less than four months!

@Thunderflare99 , I will always Love you Like Whitney Houston Loved her Bodyguard <3

Best part is at 1:37  it’s beautiful man, just beautiful.

The game dead, because the joy is sucked from it like a cup of blue foamy love from momma Bantha. It's just sad because I invested so much time and energy, as well as $120(deluxe plus a$40 Crystal buy) in it. The things it does right are buried by the things that are broken. Kinda like the needle in the haystack, balance is hiding behind thousands of button mashing trolls. I think of this game like a fond memory, a husky Chewbacca standing atop the vanquished foe, smoke still rising from the saber burnt fur. But alas, meet me in BF1 Heroes Vs Villains...

  • @Dash_Gaming. That pick upsets me. That was suppose to show all 3 plates from the OT. I use to have the bank that you have. I do have a nice limited edition statue that looks like the bank does. I think I got rid of my bank 20+ years ago because it never worked right.

    Nice.
All my original 70's and 80's figures and vehicles are stored in my loft, apart from Dagobah Yoda who has somehow managed to exile himself to the bookcase in my dining room. :)
You will fall, as all Jedi must.

I’ve got that same piggy bank. And when I was a kid I got a penny stuck in there and didn’t know it until about 2 am the thing turned on “But you are not a Jedi yet!” And blasted the imperial march. Hahaha

Haha yeah I know. “Impressive, most impressive, but you are not a Jedi yet!”

I guess since everyone else is doing it here is a small sample of my collectibles lol.

    9L2JVl.jpg

Built by myself. The graflex actually has a crystal chamber with a crystal that lights up. Both have sounds and a blade that I can change to whatever film sounds I’d like.
  • @Dash_Gaming. Nice bank. I use to have that exact one also. I got rid of it not long after I got it because it never worked right. I do have a limited edition statue that looks like it. Complete with COA and everything.

I am mad that the plate pic did not turn out right. There are 3 plates total on that display. One from each movie. I also have 6 other plates just like those, except they are of the different ships. One is an X wing, Falcon, Star Destroyer, and a couple others. I can't take pics of all my SW items, because it would take about 6 pages in a thread. Let's just say I have most of the ships and figures from the 70-80s. When I found out I was having a son, I started collecting the new toys. He has 90% of the Episode 3 figs and ships. I also have a RED TINTED DARTH VADER. There were 20,000 made and I have NUMBER ONE BABY!!!!!!!!!! I also am very proud of my Darth Reven and Darth Malak figures.

  • I think it does good for us to show off our SW stuff. That is a real quick way to show that even though we disagree on parts of this game, we are actually big fans and not just some player stopping by to say "this game suckz" it shows we care about SW far beyond just one video game.
