  • I feel swindled. There should be some form of restitution for this sort of thing. I pay for a game and a service to utilize the majority of the content for said game and the product is defective.

    Go to 6:21 and substitute the speeder for the game and it’s content, Meeko as the promises of Soon™, and the salesman as EA. The customer is us.

    Jango is the players 3 weeks after progression, after finding out that certain missions are locked behind MTX in lootboxes.

    So it's cool when you make a thread complaining of lag, but if someone else does it they're a 'drama queen?'

  • And no, it's not 'our problem.' In any other industry a failure of this magnitude would justify a recall. When those happen the manufacturer takes the hit, because.... It's their fault for releasing a shoddy product. Passing the buck to us for having faith in them to provide what they always should isn't right.
  • What exactly is the issue that you believe is making you feel you've been "swindled"?

    Where to begin?

    Since the servers went down the entire experience is destroyed for me. Every game mode is completely bugged down to the point that the game is simply unplayable. I was taking a break from the game and decided to see where it's at and I just quit playing out of disgust after 3 matches, 1 SA and 2 HvV... There were points where the game wouldn't register my commands, intermittently things like freezing in place then suddenly being thrown around the map like a rag doll down to what should be the bottom of the map, then a second later I am somehow falling from the sky above the map back onto it.... Being thrown back into character selection only to find that I am unable to choose a character (and have to wait the full 20 some odd seconds to come back) and am assigned one randomly. One HvV match was so insane it lasted maybe 3 minutes and somehow I managed to accumulate 13 kills when I didn't even have time to (not because it's not possible in that amount of time, but because I was frozen in place or falling off the map somewhere by unseen forces and dying). I wish I had taken a video of the last few games, it's such a mess. That's not even everything, but that's enough. I'm sorry if you want detailed descriptions using tech savvy jargon, but I don't know all the buzz words.

    Well that is interesting given I've yet to see complaints of that nature expressed on the forums and would be quite distressing if they were. I've seen complaints of rubberbanding and lag (experienced that myself) but nothing to the effect of flat out bugging through terrain repeatedly and input failing. Not saying I don't believe you, rather that this seems to be quite an isolated issue.

    That said while what you say is unfortunate and I hope you've contacted their tech/bug department regarding the issue, you still got what you paid for like it or not. When you buy a game you're not buying it with a guarantee that there won't be issues/bugs etc, and they are working on it and it does work for the majority so you've not been swindled into buying a faulty product, especially when we don't know where the issue is stemming from, you've also made it clear you can still play the game even if you're experiencing what seems to be severe latency issues (which could be your issue or theirs, hard to say). You can still access all the features that were advertised to be a part of the game and you've not been denied anything in the game that anyone else has access to or got something that wasn't as advertised. So really you've not been swindled, you got what you paid for in every regard, its just not functioning to your expectation and its hard to say why. I'm not defending a product that has obvious flaws but acting like you've been cheated is a bit of a stretch.

    If nothing else, perhaps stay away from EA products in the future my friend. I personally stopped getting EA products after Dragon Age Inquisition and only got this since it captured some memory of the old Battlefront games a decade ago, aside from this I don't intend to touch anything else EA puts out because they're just genuinely a lousy company in all regards especially how they treat their subsidiary companies like DICE in this case. But truth is as much as I dislike them, they haven't done anything particularly underhanded or unfair, they're just a seedy company for lack of a more eloquent term.

    But you're right, though. I appreciate the reframing of things. I'm sure these are just the growing pains the game is going through and hopefully this phase ends soon. I will try to capture a video next time so I can provide that instead.

    I checked the multiplayer sub forum and it looked like others were experiencing similar issues. They didn't go into as much detail as I did here, but still...

    Short answer... you can ask EA for a refund if the game is legitimately unplayable on your system... aside from that, you don't have the leverage to hold anyone accountable.

Simply asking that question does not mean I am actively seeking legal recourse, (because I'm not) but why aren't people allowed to ask these questions without condescending remarks meant to minimize the issue?

    I feel I've been making my points clear this entire time, you keep taking issue with the language I'm using when it's perfectly fitting. I don't think I am going to make a difference here, man, I'm just venting my frustration.

  • It's sad when we get to the point that those with no vested interest in something feel the need to defend the big guy. Because guess what? Were ALL the little guy here. It's like t3hBar0n is concerned about their bottom line when they couldn't care any less about you (or me). vexation mentioned that I didn't get anything that wasn't advertised, but I'd love to see anywhere that they would admit to the level of ridiculousness I experienced tonight, much less use it as a promotional incentive. Come play the most broken game in existence!™

    I've been gaming for a very long time. Came up through every generation and never have I ever experienced anything like this. Especially not for the length of time this is happening, either.

    If you truly believe you have been the victim of a crime, you would be seeking legal council. Perhaps if you stopped using hyperbole you wouldn't get condescension... "this is criminal" followed up with "The game is beyond broken. For shame." ahahaha.

    To be fair you followed up your title with statements such as "I feel swindled" and "there should be some form of restitution". Both of these would actually lead one to believe you meant criminal in the entirely formal sense of the word, you further went on to bring up who is to be held accountable, once again adding to this. It may not have been your intent but it certainly makes it seem as such.

    Well for starters if I was having the issue you were having I would have addressed it with EA customer service and if they were unable to advise a way to make the game function I would have sought a refund...

    You on the other hand came to the forums (which will in no way be able to solve the problem you are having) and started a thread titled "This is criminal" whose body consisted of "The game is beyond broken. For shame.".

    You certainly reek of intelligence, I can practically feel my IQ increasing just reading your eloquent prose and basking in the glory of your problem solving prowess.

    A lack of communication from the devs is certainly causing anxiety with a large portion of the playerbase. Personally I'm patient enough to see what happens but I know that is not true of everyone. (this is not a criticism) A few official words on planned fixes and a rough idea of release dates would allay fears for many players at the least. Dice have no obligation to do this but it would be best practice. However, talk of a totally broken game or alleging that fans are being criminally treated is verging on hysteria.
    If its so bad an experience then fine people have every right to make their views known. State those views in a more mature fashion, listing grievances as you find them and people will take them more seriously.

Why do you "need an attorney to take this to court"?..if you file a small claim..they have to defend against it..costs company 100 times more to defend then what they would be getting sued for (failure to perform would be a good one)...also, they Have to defend because a loss sets a precedent....consumers, and many of us gamers in general are stupid..we can get a response super fast if we realized the powrer we do have. 10000 lawsuits filed all at once across the country would cost them (EA/Disney etc..) over 50,000,00£ just defending against them. That cost is a hard cost for them even if they win..the consumers costs to file is about 50-150 depending on the state...we have power just gotta learn how to use it....did a paper on how facebook could be bankrupted in for failure to perform even if their site was down for 60 seconds..if 10 % of users filed a small claim all at once..and even if facebook won every case..their legal costz alone. Just for that small 60 second outage would be close to a billion dollars..now think how many times in just a day they have issues..same principal applies here..
