Can we please take a look at speeders on Endor?

I literally hate this map because it is filled with players grabbing speeders and scoring kills by barely touching someone, especially heroes. Even worse is that saber heroes really don't have a great way to counter them.

There should be some speed requirement when it comes to the damage outputs. Additionally, speeder bikes in particular should also receive damage for purposely running over things.

Other side of the coin here...You should play these bikes, cause they're not that great bro, we're barely breaking even playing them atm...

    Basically....do not play them unless you're okay with nausea/gaps/glitches/hangs/trip-ups/invisible walls/garbage routes/over-powered tree stumps/heroes that one-shot you...the list goes on.

Release week the speeder bike was AWESOME...

In BF1, it was the coolest thing in arcade. Ok great. Wanna add speeder bikes in arcade, cool, do it. Wanna add them to GA? -smooth out that experience and make it worth my bp. Cause I boycott speeders on Endor now. What a joke.

@ .. now the ewalk banter has become unoticeable to all of the aghgg deaths of the infantry.. normally have about 20-35k for the last stage. I really love to road kill people tho.0 lmaoo

not on xBox 1 ...we're (generally) under 10K after playing phase 2 continuous with the bikes after bp purchase costs. The map is littered & designed to destroy your speeder. It used to be different. I get about 3-5 kills clothes-lining infantry with the bike now. I get 10+ easy - phase 1 on Starkiller Base w/the LUIV. The Endor map is the issue. But the op is rallying against the bikes, so their platform sounds like the bikes are winning...

It used to be. But not on my console atm, its super nerfed, the map is a giant mess of boobytraps and invisible stuff that destroy the bikes. Even an all epic star card loadout w/a defensive posture does nothing to keep the bike alive longer than 30 seconds.

I play console. They are straight up cheesy. Guys will get behind heroes and do massive damage at a snails pace. It's constant. Even if the dude dies, he'll just keep spamming it until gets the kill.

That's a hero/villain strategy problem. It's also cheesy to camp out and play the back with an 8K hero on phase 2 Endor as well, so touche to the hero-hogs... I've ran into a Vader that melted my bike every time and fought a Han who killed me from the caves everytime. I never buy a hero in phase two...but I also never buy a bike in phase 2 now either. But the choice is there I suppose...

EDIT: ESP as a hero in the same exact spot! Move around for gawd sake! of course the speeders will return to the bp well, they do that on every map, same on StarKiller... except there's only one map where phase 2 is littered with point-rich heros & villains. Most maps don't have a phase 2 w/speeders yo....

totally disagree. EVERYONE can see the heroes on the minimap. Go to the caves or the ewok trees if you don't like your hero hit by a speeder. That's a solution. And, like I said before, it's not that much fun for the speeders ops either just saying. Can't just call foul without hearing the opposing viewpoint.

Disagree. Everyone can see the heroes/villains on the minimap, and if the hero doesn't move, and they're dug in, that's a camping problem! Head to the trees w/the ewoks or the caves. And it's not any easier for the bikes either just saying. There's an opposing viewpoint to keeping a hero/villain alive on Endor phase 2, not everyone sees it the same. Just like Crait, speeders play a small role but don't dictate the outcome of the game. Gotta play it accordingly.

I don't have a problem with them, I learned to stay off the little paths when speeders would 1 shot heroes. I don't have any problems at all now that they don't kill you just by brushing you. Stay underground, above ground, or basically anywhere except in the middle of the paths.

Agreed..but in my experience speeder bikes can't one shot a hero, gotta be pinned/broadsided several times. Meanwhile Han can literally one shot a bike with a detonate charge or the DL. When played optimally the heros still win against the bikes. Leia and these horrid tree stumps stopped my thirst to buy the bike on Endor. Just gotta play it right..

All vehicles like the Speeder Bikes, etc, should be increased in the cost of the battlepoints (in the case of the Speeder bikes - by 5x maybe?) to make purchasing them more risky, such that it can't be spammed nearly as repeatedly by the same players.
Especially the LUIV on Starkiller Base.

They did some work with the Gunship on Kamino and they also extended it's respawn delay such that it's no longer frequent to appear.

Otherwise, could you possibly add a cooldown timer against the player when he/she uses said vehicle and dies with it?
Man! Could this game get any more broken?

I do understand the frustration at losing a hero to it, but at the same time, with the problems you mentioned, it may be BP cheap to get one, but not entirely friendly to the rider without practice. Easily destroyed by opponents and 9 times out of 10, the rider will kill themselves on a tree/large rock/glitch

I finally started hunting speeders with my ion-NT-242 beyond the Starkiller map, and had a ton of fun on Hoth shooting speeders in the sky. Doing the same thing now on endor. It's more fun to play with ion mods now there's just so much hardware and vehicles in these matches now.

I don't think dev will do a single thing about this. But what can be done is play different styles with heroes...and fight fire with fire: be stoked when your team has specialists rocking mods B)

They can't now, but when the game was first released all vehicles would 1 shot heroes by touching them, speeders did the same insta kill as being run over by an AT-ST. So, I learned to avoid areas where they go... I still do it and I haven't been killed as a hero by a speeder since they removed the 1 touch kill ability from speeders.

I tested the speeder routes on Endor couple days after v 2.0 dropped, Solo absolutely whooped up on the bikes. To the point I gave up and bought an AT-ST. Heroes can crush bikes last I played them. I'm on Xbox

  • Has anyone seen the bikes up the tree's
Someone did it when i was on the walkway then they got on the AT AT but on the wrong side of bridge so they couldn't go under bridge an fell back down
    Looked funny
  • The smart ion grenade takes out speeder bikes in one hit and are pretty easy to use. It's also a lot of fun.

If you walk up to somebody else’s speeder bike and hold the interact button (square button for PS4, I don’t know what it is for pc and xbox), it will allow you to ride on the back of the speeder with a weapon to shoot enemies with.

I don’t think it’s complete though because the animation when you mount the bike is a little weird and I don’t think you can dismount once getting on the bike.

I think the whole two man speeder bike is a bit glitched and I'm not sure it's supposed to be in the game at the moment, hence the lack of a UI and the inability to dismount it. I think it's also quite temperamental as to whether you can actually mount them in the first place, I couldn't when I tried. Although I might not have held the button long enough.

I have no problem with the speeders on crait. It takes legit skill to run over a hero on that map, so comparing the two isn't really a good example.

As the Resistance on Starkiller, I always get on an interceptor and spawn kill all LUIV speeders that spawn in. It's insane how much of a killstreak I can simply rack up on those speeders.

It's not the middle where you find the spammers. Camping in the caves is a good way to be killed. The fact remains a small vehicle going 3 mph shouldn't be dealing 200+ damage.

I've tested the speeder bikes out. It's extremely easy to weave in and out of trees when you're health is low. Even if you die, they're 200 bp. And if the other team is running saber heroes, they have zero counter to it.

It's funny how AT-RT's can't nudge you for kills. No one seems to have a problem with that, but the minute you bring up how lame it is for speeder bikes to do it...

I'm on Xbox

I'm on Xbox. Not all heroes can crush speeders, specifically saber heroes. Even blaster heroes like Finn and Lando have problems with them.

Are we talking about Speeders being a problem, or Speeders “Hero Bumping” being a problem? Can someone clarify for me please?

so get rid of the speeders on Endor to accommodate Rey? That doesn't sound linear or one dimensional at all...they get nerfed any further, might as well remove them from the arsenal.

I was actually expecting a complaint about how wobbly speeder bikes are to drive, and how much their steering sucks and about how hard it is to have fun with them...
And how easy you die to bad collision IN them.

    Instead, I find this...

well, I did chime in but it appears we're in the minority here haha..I haven't got a hero kill on the bikes for weeks in v1.2, thought the hero players figured out how to avoid these speeders in that phase.

As the Resistance on Starkiller, I always get on an interceptor and spawn kill all LUIV speeders that spawn in. It's insane how much of a killstreak I can simply rack up on those speeders.

nice tip thanks! yea, lately there's a ton of opportunity air-to-ground for some reason. I've really sharpened my piloting skill last month; bought a single fighter in GA last night, ran the table...

Or you just don't know how to use a speeder bike.
  • Luke slashed the front of a Speeder Bike off with a strong overhead slice in ROTJ, I'd like to see a Speeder Bike vulnerability to saber strikes if that's doable?

You can damage it with your Lightsaber, but it's too risky.
Man! Could this game get any more broken?
  • No, speeder bikes are so hard to play, no buffing for them, instead buff hero collision to speederbike. Make heroes more tougher to speeder bike collisions would be better, then you could attack them with light saber.

Yes I agree, I'm thinking you make the Speeder bikes very vulnerable to sabers, like 1 solid strike does the deed. Not just a glancing strike but a well timed hit. If they strike too early or too late then the hero bites it, fair's fair.

YES! I just wish that they could have better speeder bike combat and, more importantly, SOMEWHERE TO GO THAT ISN'T INTO A TREE! There are literally no paths to actually race down. Very sad :disappointed:
We need a Tier System for the Heroes. It would justify the "op-ness" of Vader over Han and Chewbacca. It would cost much more to unlock Vader, and would require you to save a lot more than for other heroes and vehicles, but it would be rewarding in the end...
