(1.) Are you excited for the Pandemic SWBF games to be playable on X-Box One?

(2.) Which of the backwards compatible Star Wars games coming for the new system have you played?

(3.) Which ones are your favorites? If you could put them in order from favorite to least favorite what would it be? If you wish you may review them as well.

(4.) Are there any other Star Wars games you’d like to see come to X -Box One?

(5.) What do you think of this Cloudgine tech? Pretty wild being able to have so much on screen at once...yes? It really makes the mind get boggled over the endless possibilities.

(6.) I want to buy a Ultra Saber lightsaber, it’s always been a dream of mine to have a realistic lightsaber that I can actually do real full contact sword fighting with...So cool.

(7.) I’d like to know your thoughts on the latest Solo: A Star Wars Story; are you apprehensive or are you amped? Do you feel reserved, afraid your going to get stung or are you staying positive about the upincoming film?

    ———————————————————

My review of each games above:

(1.) Star Wars: Battlefront- “Conquest” Mode and “Gallactic Conquest” mode is what really made Pandemic’s game shine. You were even able (if you are playing as the Empire) the ability to chose what planet you wish to blow up with the Deathstar. With the ability to play as Destroyer Droids and cool maps like planet Renvar what’s not to love? Plus you could go into prone position as a sniper. You had neutral factions or factions favoring a side, (actually playing): Ewoks, Sand People, Gamorian Guards. You had monsters that attacked you like the Sarlaac which grabs you and pulls you in. You could take off and land your starship. Truly a amazing achievement in its day.

(2.) Star Wars: Battlefront II This one took away prone position for snipers and you can not pick a target for the Deathstar to destroy. But what it did have is the ability to play as heroes. Plus amazing maps like: Polis Massa, Mustafar, etc. Also the space battles were amazing and you can land in enemy ships and take them out from within while others take it out from without. Plus it had the very much alive Rancor that will grab you and swallow you.

(3.) Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy This one was decent, my nephew liked the new lightsaber gimmicks. Though the game had a mission progression glitch that only allowed mission progress to a certain point. Still “Capture the Flag” was fun though.

But the first one Star Wars: Jedi Knight “Jedi Outcast” was my favorite. The maps were the funnest for “Capture the Flag”.

(4.) Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter it had a decent story and was okay but not unforgettable

(5.) Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic this game was simply way ahead of its time. I was annihilated by the amazing way that the game permitted so many different choices. It was really cool to see the moral twine woven through out the game, showing how good deeds makes a difference, all the way to the very conclusion. Also in the reverse how dark deeds had drastic consequences.

(6.) Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords the sequel had the same choices yet seemed to have a much darker and more sinister tone. It seemed that the writers definitely favored the Dark Side. It became very obvious when they constantly preached it through characters. This proved they were not impartial in the sequel at all. I never finished this one for that reason alone. I just got sick of how when I made good, just decisions...it did not benefit me. Were as when I stole or murdered I get powerful armor and such. This for me was a bad message so I quit the sequel. It is a bummer though I was hoping it would have been more impartial and balanced.

(7.) Star Wars: Republic Commando this game is just super fun, especially the expansion pack missions. I love how you move as one cohesive squad and it’s very much like real war. It has a very realistic feel to it. Yet without all the gore. Good times...

(8.) Star Wars: The Force Unleashed after the heavy dark side promotion of SWKOTOR 2 it left a bad taste in my mouth. I stopped playing Dark Side laden games.

Definitely going to get one of the OG Battlefronts. Since I'm on limited funds at the moment, it'll have to be one or the other. I'm currently undecided, but eventually I'll get both. Was pleasantly surprised when they announced these were coming. Being that EA has its hands on the Star Wars license, these were the last games I was expecting to see.

Solo looks good. Still cautious about good movie trailers ever since TLJ, but this will be one I will certainly see in the theater.

Yeah both versions of the classic SWBF have their outstanding points and there weaker points but mostly superior points.

    Agreed about Solo movie...well put.

frames 135-136 han says "I've got a good feeling about this), changed slightly from the expected "I've got a bad feeling" in every star wars film, (for anyone who says it wasn't in the last jedi, according to official feed back BB8 beeped it at the beginning when Poe confronts the first order ship)

lmao, about BB8. Good catch about the change in lines.

On a side note: about the release of the SWBF (2004 and 2005) game for X-Box One. I forgot to mention another amazing quality the games had. Unlike the 2015 and the 2017 game you are actually able to give commands to your A.I.... Yes that’s right you had several commands you can issue out. (1.) One command was to tell A.I. to guard this spot, like a “Control Point”. (2.) Another command was to tell the A.I. to follow you. The max A.I. that would follow you was two. They came in handy when you wanted to take a “Control Point.” (3.) The third possible command was to tell them to attack, which was basically the counter to get them to stop following you around. So many cool things. This is what I tried to tell DICE years ago, it’s the little things that made the Pandemic game shine. I hope Criterion will incorporate this feature for Offline different Arcade game modes like Team Battle, etc.

It will be interesting, for me personally, to play the OG games once more. I reckon it has been at least ten years since I last had my PS2 copies.

It’s still as fun as the day I first bought it. The two Renvar maps are down right addictive, same with the Kamino platforms map (which allows lots of platform use) and the Bespin platforms map.

    ———————————————————————————————————-

Limited time game mode “Ewok Hunt” is coming April 18th, 2018, play as Ewoks or Imperial Storm Troopers, check it out:

Okay so this is how the game mode works it starts out as 2 against 10. Two Ewoks vs ten Imperials in pitch black darkness on a brand new Endor map. If an Ewok kills an Imperial, that Imperial becomes an Ewok. In order for the Imperials to win, they must survive in the dark tell the end to get extracted. In order for the Ewoks to win, they must exterminate all 10 Imperials, which gets easier as their numbers grow with each kill.

The Imperials have flashlights but they over heat over time and go out until they recharge. The long moments in the dark (according to Star Wars HQ and Star Wars Updates) can get kinda tense and scary. They said a lot of the people playing it were screaming. Especially when you don’t know where the Ewoks are in the dark and they pounce on you, spearing you in the head. Then there’s when you can hear them in the brush but can’t see them, and others blowing their horns in the distance (which I would imagine interferes with your ability to here danger close to you). Plus the Ewoks have the ability to access doors at the base of trees and ascend to the catwalks, giving them an aerial advantage. The Imperials can not access these sky catwalks in the trees so their danger is from the ground and the air.

This new mode sounds really intense.

Here’s some odd yet fascinating news that will excite the fans of the classic SWBF game.

Check this out the (2005) Pandemic Star Wars Battlefront game (for people playing it Online for their P.C.), Disney has permitted it to receive now two new online patches.

Disney representative said, “Although the company isn’t actively developing console/PC titles, gaming teams do exist within Disney and Lucasfilm. These internal groups deal with outside parties such as licensees and other development partners, working to maintain proper stewardship of Disney’s brands.”

In the case of Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2005) the Disney spokesperson said that GOG Galaxy is handling the back end for the game’s online play, including the development of patches. The company’s work amounts to maintenance and upkeep, a chiefly technical endeavor rather than a creative one. In other words, it’s unrealistic to expect new content for a game that launched in late 2005, and other additions that fans are clamoring for — like Steam Workshop support and dedicated servers — may also be asking too much.

Click on this for the full article:

    https://www.polygon.com/2018/1/4/16852064/star-wars-battlefront-2-pc-patch-disney-lucasfilm-gog-galaxy

I find it fascinating that Disney is backing the originals while also financing the new titles. Probably a brilliantly move on their part.

I suffice to say the news is NOT good. Being an entertainment news thread I think I violated rule number one for all good reporters:
Always double and triple check your source. My bad.

Sadly this perticular show is temporary set aside. As for the Clone Wars era the show was actually going to be based on the time period between episode #3 and episode #4 when Luke was a boy (no he would NOT have been in it). It would have been about the wretched hive of scum and villainy of the criminal underworld beneath the beauty of the skyscrapers down on level 1113. Yes the show came before the video game. It would have been about that seedy world, kind of a Godfather meets Star Wars thing. The world was sort of visited in the video game “Star Wars Obi Wan”
though in a more innocent way then the edgy, controversial video game SW:1113 and the tv show.

Retraction statement: I am very sorry I thought imdb could be trusted I humbly apologize. Yes indeed Imdb (which was my source by the way), definitely sent me on a wild goose chase. What a major bummer. Still the tv series is quite real infact it has been in development apparently for a very long time. It was experiencing financing woes caused by what they wanted to do on tv and what they could do. They struggled to find a location to have it...sources like: “cable” but they did not want that because the cable channel corporate types would have wanted to have a say on what was being done...which repulsed George Lucas; he found that repugnant. The networks were the way to go, they had the money, but commercials would cause the show to run at only 45 minutes. Sooooo they were at an impass. Money was tight so they set it aside. "It sits on the shelf, “ said George, “We have 50 hours. We are trying to figure out a different way of making movies. We are looking for a different technology that we can use, that will make it economically feasible to shoot the show. Right now, it looks like the Star Wars features. But we have to figure out how to make it at about a tenth of the cost of the features, because its television. We are working toward that, and we continue to work towards that. We will get there at some point. It's just a very difficult process. Obviously, when we do figure this problem out, it will dramatically effect features, because feature films are costing between $250 to $350 million. When we figure this out, they will be able to make a feature film for $50 million." Lucas had them go ahead with work on the video game Star Wars: 1113 based on the tv show “Star Wars Underworld” that was now set aside. Then at a later date he opted to sell to Disney... The big video game Star Wars: 1113 was then also shelved. Plus the tv show was placed on temporary hiatus. Several attempts very recently to re-kick off “Star Wars Underworld” are quite real but is still on the back burner. Executives and Kathleen Kennedy are considering their options.

Here is the full report from a much more superior source then imdb, here’s the real facts:
    http://www.denofgeek.com/us/tv/star-wars/268941/why-star-wars-underworld-didnt-happen

    and here’s another http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Star_Wars:_Underworld

And then there’s this video if you just want a summary:

Again sorry...I got horn swoggled. My bad, I was just so excited and I thought the source Imbd was an entertainment industry official site.

However we do have good news.

    >Breaking news>

An actual Star Wars live action tv show of an unknown name is indeed moving forward!!!

Produced by: Jon Favreau (who did “The Jungle Book”)
    Written by: Jon Favreau

    Here is a link:

    http://www.starwarsunderworld.com/2018/03/breaking-jon-favreau-to-executive.html
and this official Star Wars Disney site:

Will it use any of the 50 scripts from “Star Wars: Underworld”? - It is entirely possible. Word is that several elements of “Star Wars: Underworld” the shelved tv show have already been brought to the small and big screen. Apparently Saw Gerrara from “Clone Wars” and “Star Wars: Rogue One” was a character created by George Lucas for the tv show. Also George Lucas had written the Han meets Londo thing, and the loss of the Millenium Falcon in a card game to be an episode of the show. So apparently elements in the “Solo: A Star Wars Story” film may indeed be loosely based on that script. Soooooooo in a way we ARE getting the tv show but it’s just been stretched out with greater scope into films and such like. Time will only tell if any elements of those 50 scripts will be in the new Star Wars live action tv show.

    Carry on.

This is probably fake news (the source can NOT be trusted)

According to the source JJ Abrams episode 9 will bring time travel (introduced in Star Wars Rebels) to undo the events of Star Wars “The Last Jedi” basically a kind of reboot if you will. No nasty surprises:
(1.) Han and Leia will indeed be Rey’s parents.
(2.) Snoke will NOT die tell the end of episode 9.
(3.) Luke will get his epic lightsaber battle
(4.) Like George Lucas originally wrote it for Disney, Luke Skywalker will die dramatically in episode 9 NOT 8.

What do you all think? If this were to come true for episode 9 would you be happy?
    I know I would be...

Hot off the press red hot news

Jon Favreau the producer of the up in coming live action tv show speaks.

    The facts:
Where can we watch it? - Disney’s Cable Streaming Service

How many episodes are finished being written? - 4

What era is the tv show set in? - Three years after “Star Wars Return of the Jedi” and before “Star Wars The Force Awakens” obviously...

What should we expect to see? - “It’s all-new characters, different planets. But it still fits into the timeline,” says John Favreau (Producer)

What is Favreau famous for? - He did the live action Disney movie “Jungle Book” and his live action Disney movie “Lion King” is in post production.

Can we expect to see weird and cool aliens? - Yes absolutely, the show will have lots of alien creatures. The producer announced, “We are figuring out new techniques and looking at all the stuff that I’ve been learning on Jungle Book and Lion King”. This sounds very promising to hear that.

Production for the tv show begins when? - “Next year around July 19th, 2019 when Lion King is released, said Jon Favreau.

Regardless of how you may feel about Jon Favreau, like him or dislike him he did make a awesome “Jungle Book” movie, let’s hope he keeps batting a thousand.

    Chin up. B)

Yeah the Visceral game should be pretty epic but I hope they did not dis the Offline content. It was originally I think an Offline huge long story then EA wanted it to be more MMO open world if I recall correctly. I just hope that doesn’t mean the Offline campaign has been totally axed.

Not a WoW guy but I did enjoy the SWKOTOR video game. Especially the ability to make life decisions and chose my characters moral destiny. I especially loved kicking the tail of bullies who pick on hapless bystanders who could not defend themselves. That and taking on Krayt dragons for credits, lol. :) And all by my lonesome.

Here’s a Tweet just today about the Large scale Offline game mode they are working on:

“-if the core of what you’re after is to fight large scale battles in PvE (player vs environment) with both Troopers and Vehicles, we’re working on something quite like that,” says Ben of DICE

This may not be “Conquest” but it’s something similar to it (as Dennis had hinted at a while back).

    Absolute confirmation:

Plus the large Offline mode is confirmed to be indeed using Control Points; it sounds like there will also be Capital Ships to destroy. Here’s hoping it will be like the space battles from SWBF2 (2005) Pandemic where we can attack ships from within and from without and Conquest on the ground. Yee haw....fun stuff. Getting really excited now. :) B)

Well I decided not to see “Solo A Star Wars Story” for multiple reasons, partly due to Johnson’s garbage treatment of Luke Skywalker in TLJ, so it’s a boycott. But I also do not like the L3 robot ether. Plus I do not care for some changes made to other well known characters. Generally I am NOT happy. Apparently the world agrees...it’s the first Star Wars film to actually flop. Solo A Star Wars Story actually lost money, 500 million to be exact...that’s $500,000,000... Serves them right, if you don’t respect the characters do not expect people to show up.

It seems to be suggesting that the new Star Wars tv show will revolve around planet Mandalore. Gosh I really hope this is true because that would be pretty cool actually.
