I think it’s something the devs can always do to keep the game going so I have confidence they will add it

I’ve been thinking to take it further while we wait and still develop new ideas for the A.I. hero mode we can talk about other things they can add to make arcade better cause arcade alone could be a really fun starwars game then combining the things you get to do online with the arcade mode would literally make the game amazing. So I was thinking we’ve already been talking about online heroes we should think about arcade multiplayer gameplay and heroes quest and new arcade modes that could be added to arcade as well if you would be interesting in building some concepts.
    @ELIMELECH0401

    *ADDITIONAL ARCADE MODES*
    [ Arcade G.A.]
(Galatic assault where you could enter the same ship with a friend)

    [ Hero Quests]
(Embargo on Unique quests theoughtout the galaxy to unlock special heroes)

    [ Arcade G.C.]
(Galactic Conquest where you capture take down points)

    [ Arcade Lvl challenges]
(3 wave challenge where you chad a firend must team up to defeat 2 teams of assault and heavy troopers combined and a boss at the third level)

    [ Order 66]
(Mode where you hunt Jedi in the last days of the new republic)

    [ Tuskin Hunt]
(You play as young Ani and slaughter Tuskins)

    [ Survival]
(Last 10 waves of oncoming enemies you can choose whether it’s jedi sith driods clones etc.)

That’s great! We should put some ideas together to build a new-arcade mode
    feel the force Sombering Jace
  • You know come to think of it a Mode they could add is 1v1 ten lives hvv
    feel the force Sombering Jace
  • No need to overcomplicate matters. If they could just add Hero AI to Arcade and allow them to use some of the more basic abilities as well as their primary attack, that would be enough for me. Darth Vader for example should be able to use his Lightsaber Throw. Luke should be allowed to use his Force Push. Boba Fett could use the same AI as the Rocket Troopers in the campaign, hovering in place with his jetpack and unleashing a rocket barrage against the player.

And I would have it so that the AI spawns the corresponding hero every time the player chooses a hero; so if you play as Luke Skywalker, the AI spawns Darth Vader. If you choose Han Solo, the AI spawns Boba Fett. If you choose Chewbacca, the AI spawns in Bossk, and so on and so forth.

Blaster heroes should be very easy to implement since they could use the same AI as the Troopers, with the ability to use their various grenade abilities. Han would have his Detonite Charge and Sharpshooter. Bossk should be able to use his Dioxis Grenade and Predator Instincts. Chewie would be able to use his Shock Grenade and Furious Bowcaster.
    * * *

Arcade mode needs 20v20 and starfighter battles for Battlefront II!!!

I would be extremely happy with this. The only thing I would add to that list is Vader's force choke (they could just eliminate the mini game and give the AI full damage when they use it). because how frequent he used it in the movies.
Also if the large mode for Arcade is conquest, they could have the hero AI stay around the capture points. This would make programming the hero AI on large maps easier. The hero AI would serve as mini bosses this way which would be cool, IMO.

  • Posted this separately but wanted to get it in front of as many other Arcade lovers as possible.

Those of us who love Arcade all agree that there are certain things we'd like to see added to a fully fleshed out Arcade mode, that would make Arcade the Star Wars Sandbox we all want. (Disclaimer: This is not an "Arcade content should come before Online content" post, so settle down Bevis. But this is content that we should receive.)

    1. Large Scale Objective Based Mode
Although I'm starting to come around on the idea of a Large Team Battle mode, having a Large-scale, 20v20 mode, with full access to all heroes, troops, reinforcements, vehicles, skins...and command posts to fight over, would be exquisite. Crank the player count up to 999 and rock and roll... Skirmish from BF2015, although flawed, was the perfect example of what this large scale mode should be. This is essential.

    2. Starfighter Assault Arcade
Ben has touched on this so we know that it's coming at some point, but "Soon" is never soon enough. SA is quite possibly the most perfect mode in BF2. Immersive. Fun. Strategic. And would need little, if any, tweaking. Just let us play as Naboo Fighters, okay?

    3. Basic AI Heroes
I understand that early on in development, Guillaume and the HERO dev team were having difficulty programming things like Han's shoulder charge for AI. If those things can be ironed out, fantastic. If not, then the community would be more than happy to see friendly and enemy AI HEROES/VILLAINS on the battlefront with 1-2 (or even ZERO) special abilities. Whatever makes it easiest to incorporate hero AI units into Arcade. ...and Free-For-All rules should give players the choice to enable all heroes (AI on both sides) to be on the battlefield at the same time. Or set a hero limit. One per side. Four per side. Eight per side. The choice should be yours.

    4. AI Reinforcements
Similar to Heroes, all existing Reinforcements should have AI counterparts that should be in Arcade. They should generate randomly (especially with Free For All Rules).

    5. Skins—Customizable Rulesets
The custom rules for Arcade are pretty decent, but could do with some tweaks and additions. Free for all settings give you lots of options, but there could be more:
Fully customizable : can select skins pre-match, in-match for heroes and troopers. Can pre-determine and select skins for troopers both friendly and enemies of each faction (or at very least allow for purchased skins/appearances to generate randomly for enemies.) I think it would be one **** of a laugh to see Lando in his Yellow Sportsman skin leading the 327th. SO MUCH YELLOW...
AI should include all available skins at random, unless otherwise specified. Want to play only as certain Clone legions? Done. Want to only play as Specialists? Done. Want to only play as heavy Quarrens vs. Imperial Officers? Done.

    6. Customizable PlayList.
We simply need to be able to pre-select the maps/modes we want to play, in order. Partially for convenience' sake, but more importantly for head canon story and immersion. Should be able to set a playlist to play Starfighter Assault on Kamino, then Conquest on Kamino, into Conquest on Naboo, followed by Team Battle in NabooHangar, then Onslaught in Theed Palace... Point is, I'd like to create my own Star Wars story, and reenact the Star Wars Saga as I see fit on the Battlefront.
Before (or after) creating the playlists, I want to set the custom rules for each type of mode in that playlist. Yes, I realize that you can already this-pre-match in arcade, but we need to be able to set it for the entire playlist. Prior to playing, set up the rules for each Type of mode, then not have to go back before each round to change it up. (Unless you're changing factions).

    BONUS #1
    ARCADE HUNT MODE
Saw a recent suggestion to make Hunt a Team battle type mode with troops vs. indigenous creatures. Much like blast with changeable player count rules... Same environments as Onlone haunt modes, just not the complicated online Ruleset. Dumb it down. Make it blast. This would be awesome.

    BONUS #2
    ARCADE SURVIVAL
Similar to how Survival worked in BF2015, but with a custom Ruleset for # of rounds and skins, offline co-op, AI Heroes mixed in with the horde waves, and the ability to play as heroes instead of just troops.
This would make Arcade a COMPLETE EXPERIENCE.
  • Here's an idea for an Arcade mode that would work as a SOLO PLAYER EXPERIENCE, a CO-OP EXPERIENCE, or an ONLINE PvE EXPERIENCE...

    I'm calling it... SQUAD ESCAPE
For those of you who played it, this would be similar to how Safeguard from COD ghosts worked. The mode can work in every era and with every faction, but here's a brief description as an example...

Following the droid invasion on Kashyyyk and the Republic evacuation, an elite Clone Commando Team finds themselves stuck behind enemy lines. In order to survive and escape, this unit must deactivate key strategic objectives and blast their way through the garrison of troops that now call Kashyyyk home. If they can fight their way through to a gunship, they just might be able to see their brothers, once again.

    1) Squad Escape
    - This would be a 4 player PvE, (Escape) Survival-based objective mode. A Horde Mode.
    - Players would have limited shared lives.
    - The opposition would be increasing numbers of AI enemy soldiers (like Survival from 2015 Battlefront) and enemy vehicles.
    - Rounds can be capped at 15, 30, or 50 and preset before game begins.
    - The map would be sectioned off into multiple segments. The 4-player team must complete a series of objectives to advance to the next stage/section of the map.
    - Like in the Campaign, weapon crates will be scattered throughout the maps to aid in the battle. These one-time use weapons would be attainable during rounds, similar to how Iden had to open crates to access some weapons. The amount of battle points accrued would determine which weapons can be selected.
    - Players would have to defeat intensifying waves of enemy troops as they deactivate objectives like shutting down shields, opening blast doors (or close them to slow the attack), sabotage enemy equipment, priming defense cannons, and getting the gunship ready for takeoff.
    - But before they board the gunship (in this scenario), players have one final challenge. The final stage introduces an era-specific AI hero/villain to fight alongside the AI troops. At milestone intervals every 5 or 10 rounds an AI HERO/VILLAIN joins the battle against the player team.
    - This mode would work with either any of the large Galactic Assault maps, and the scenario can work for either faction (light/dark). Similar scenarios that play out in Galactic Assault would work well here, only in a more concentrated form. The best example from Galactic Assault currently would be Death Star II. You have to deactivate tractor beams and disable main weapon systems before you can escape. Like that, only with four players against an ever increasing sea of enemies and a shared pool of limited reinforcements.
    - What I like best about the mode is that it's a cooperative, not competitive mode.
    - Just four troops with nothing to rely on but each other.
  • In keeping with the Arcade theme, here is another SURVIVAL/HORDE mode that is designed for Arcade SOLO PLAYERS, CO-OP PLAYERS, and ONLINE PvE... This one is called HERO ESCAPE.

Like my SQUAD ESCAPE idea, this would be very similar to Survival from BF2015, and would share a lot of similarities with the old COD Ghosts SAFEGUARD mode.

This would be a 2-4 player PvE that can be capped at 15, 30, or 60 rounds.
This mode would feature 2-4 Player Heroes/Villains vs. increasingly difficult and numerous AI variants.

The matches would be on all era specific maps, and Heroes would be all era specific (for example, Han, Luke , Leia, and Chewie on Endor). This would be to maximize the banter between heroes and to make it a more unique experience. Limiting the heroes that can be used makes for a more strategic experience. (i.e. You have to play differently as a squad of three blaster heroes and one lightsaber hero, as opposed to three lightsaber heroes and one blaster wielding hero. It changes the range of combat and the roles of the combatants, as well).

Varying types of troopers and reinforcements would descend on the hero squad.

Instead of supply drops or weapon drops, heroes are started with bare bones abilities and are granted upgraded star cards as the match goes on.

Players will earn Battlepoints throughout. At certain intervals/levels, players can spend their Battlepoints on an AI reinforcement (again like Safeguard). Depending on the amount, it can be a standard trooper (Assault, Heavy, Specialist, Officer), an Enforcer or Arial, or a local inhabitant (Ewoks, Gungans, etc.)

Players would have a pool of limited shared lives to work with, and are granted an additional life for every five rounds.

The map would be sectioned off into multiple segments (differing depending on map) and similar to how Galactic Assault and Strike work now, the playable area shifts depending on the stage of the game. Objectives have to be claimed/activated etc, in order to unlock the next section and fully clear the round.

I think this would be a challenging and entertaining way to play heroes and promote squad teamwork, as opposed to the hack and slash team deathmatch that every other hero based game devolves into. The moments of banter between heroes are so cool and fun, it would be great to get to experience this more.

I am the same user as Elimelech401, that account was not tied to the game. I am hoping for more Skirmish with split screen and hero AI.

Posted this separately but wanted to get it in front of as many other Arcade lovers as possible.

Sounds perfect to me. Your two escape modes sound awesome as well, especially the AI hero/villain boss in Squad Escape.

Thank you. I think it's somewhat realistic as well, at least for the long term. This is not something to expect over the next few months, but cumulatively by the end of this games' life, this could/should all happen.

I expect that we'll get this all by end of game's life post-Dec 2019.

  • That would be ideal, and would make more sense. I don't expect to get a massive drop of arcade content at the end. I just feel like if the multiplayer is the focus now then they might not get around to arcade until they are winding down.

Perfect world... we get it in pieces over the coming months. So we can enjoy some Arcsde content as we go.

In keeping with the Arcade theme, here is another SURVIVAL/HORDE mode that is designed for Arcade SOLO PLAYERS, CO-OP PLAYERS, and ONLINE PvE...

The moments of banter between heroes are so cool and fun, it would be great to get to experience this more.

two quick additions to the Arcade Essentials list:
    1) In the custom Ruleset for Arcade we need the option for Cross-Era or No Cross Era play
    2) To go along with AI Heroes on both sides, we need the ability to have ALL heroes on the battlefront at all times, like the Heroes Event currently going on. Like cross era, it should be an option to toggle on/off.

A simple thing that would go a long way.. It would certainly be a nice touch. It's tedious to have to come all the way out of the game mode back to the menu to change a skin, then go back to to game to play.

It would be awesome to be able to change skins between rounds (hopefully, this would allow player 2 in split screen to select their own skin). I would also like to see the ability to select skins for the AI including the AI heroes.
