What Are We Suppose To Do With Left Over Skill Points?

Noticed a problem when using skill points that you converted from crafting parts... it doesn't level up your rank. The issue here is no is that if i used 3 skill points on a hero, and then i eventually max that hero out, since his rank didn't go up with it, i'm going to have 3 remaining skill points when i reach max rank. Can we just convert those over to another hero or something?

Indeed, that is the only issue I had with it - I guess it is because the dev's thought the leveling could be exploited too heavily. Bit of a shame since I really need my level 35 with my Heavy for example
  • I am guessing, and hoping, they'll add new star cards, and can be applied towards that.
  • I am guessing, and hoping, they'll add new star cards, and can be applied towards that.

Yeah because if not that would be a huge oversight.

ya either that or they need to let us take back or points to use on a different class because i regret 4 of my points now on classes i didn't know on the first part. i converted 4 of them for classes that i realized by the time i max rank them, they are going to have unnecessary left overs that i'd use on a different class.
  • Eat them?
  • Related to this, what am I supposed to do with all the credits I have?

Perhaps it stops giving you skill points when it knows you have enough and gives you 1000 credits instead?

    @MASSKETEER

    Skins.

buy skins in the appearance category on the assault, specialist, heavy, officer, and several heroes and soon crates.

yes difficult in deciding what to do for the same reason, so i ended up spreading them about. Not what i wanted but didn't see a way round it unfortunately.

ya i know i thought the way they were gonna do it was when you convert a skill point that it would rank up your character and that's how they were gonna compensate so i was going to start ranking up my classes better abilities. But since i see something like "reach rank 25" still on them and they are 3 away and i have 3 cards to make purple, no point to make a skill point for them. i wish i could take back at least 4 of them that i would use on different classes/vehicles/heroes.
  • You get credits instead.

Probably this unless more cards are issued, which would require max level increases. As it stands right now when you level up Armor, which has no cards, you get credits.
  • Hoping for some new star cards.

I'm to the point where I'm not even using my skill points as I have the stuff I use already at epic and don't want to "waste" the points on stuff I'm not using.

Would be nice if an update could add some actual stuff to enhance gameplay rather than constantly being full of tweaks and nerfs.
  • I just really wish it leveled players up instead. now i got 4 of those out of 50 I regret using as it will take a while to use them.
  • I am guessing, and hoping, they'll add new star cards, and can be applied towards that.

That's my hope as well. Although I'm not holding my breath. My characters all have way too many points left over going to waste. My Vader has 11 and he has been purple for a long time. x(

Please balance the OFFICER / BLURRG. They are NOT a HEAVY, SNIPER, nor an ASSAULT CLASS. So far, every "nerf" has failed to change anything. The Blurrg is OP vs other class guns (and not just at close range). #actuallybalancethenoobtubecrutch :*
  • Well I think you are hoping in vain. It was made very clear by the Devs that when the crafting parts conversion came it would not increase the level of the unit you spent the resulting skill points on. At the same time it was announced that if you maxed out a unit's star cards before it reached maximum level, for every level it increases after you max out the star cards through to max level, you would get 1k credits as a bonus at level up instead of a skill point.
If you were not aware of that, then you don't read many community announcements as it was very clearly and early announced.

they didn't say anything in the patch updates and i dont have time to read the million and 1 community announcements. the patch update just said that crafting parts would convert to skill points. thats it. plain and simple. just said that all crafting parts would be 40 crafting to 1 skill point and once you convert them you could use them to level up cards.and said all remaining crafting parts will auto convert after next update. didn't specify it wouldn't level you up or not. It was the assumption that it would because or else what are they going to do with the other levels so it seemed obvious. never said anything about instead you will get 1000 credits instead. sorry but a million tweets to go through is not what a normal person does on a daily basis while they have other things to do.

    Hi everyone,

This update brings about large changes to our Multiplayer Progression system. We have already posted lots of information on these changes on both our blog as well as in an FAQ we’ve created. Please leave us your feedback in the forums!

So links to the booig and the FAQ were in the patch notes. here are a few bits from the FAQ -
Q.) What happens when I go from Assault level 69 to 70, since I don’t need that level to earn more Skill Points?
A.) While going from Unit Level 1 to 69 will gain you 1 Skill Point each, going from 69 to 70 will net you 1000 Credits instead.

Q.) What should I do if I get excess Skill Points?
A.) You will not be able to get any excess Skill Points in the new system. You will only be able to gain the amount needed to take all Star Cards within that Unit’s progression to Epic.
As such stop expecting things to be spoon fed for you.

  • I have excess skill points for my officer. I have like 34 skill points. I am level 70. If I use all my skill points to make the rest of my cards purple, I have have 5 or six points left over.

It was there in front of you but you could not be bothered readiong a link to the FAQ and the blog which was in the release note for 2-0 whose link you quoted. Don't like it being pointed out? Then why should I have to listen to you complain saying it was not there when it was? You are factually incorrect and you know it.

Again, since you didn't read the first time. Not everyone is a no-lifer that reads every forum thread, facebook post, twitter feed etc that comes out of DICE. The most common way people were looking at the info was on the game updates. Plan and simple, deal with it instead of trying to act like you are better than everyone else because you have time to site there and wait for every post. Some of us have jobs and only quickly, at most just check the updates page. Not everyone here who also posted that they were confused by the update knew everywhere to look and has time to look in every spot on a forum thread. So stop acting like a smart **** and being all like cl4hqaaqgrno.png

So it's not spoonfeeding to have information in 1 places and not scattered about. And the idea of using a skill point ranks you up a level just sounded like common sense design.

You are backseat driving. the FAQ and blog were both edited when they first launched the post til now so you cant say for a fact this existed when they started or after they updated it. so stop it, you sound like an **** trying to act like you know it all, AFTER THE FACT.
