Officer Shield Use
Is there anything more annoying than an officer who puts his shield up in front of you when your shooting? Other than objectives where you have to constantly be present is there any tactical advantage to these things? They seem to hurt the team more than help in my opinion.

You are the person/people that I love. You are that Officer that places down a shield for Vader just for kicks knowing that your teammates are screwed because of it. I salute you

That Specialist rework was disappointing.
Your terrible
This just gave me a brain wave; imagine if instead of just placing down the shield immediately, the first time you hit the button, you get an outline on the ground to show the range of the Shield's bubble. Then when you get it in a position you want, you press the button again to place it?
That way, you could place the shield just right, so that it overlaps the turret gunner, but leaves the turret itself outside the shield and free to fire. I think it would definitely make the turrets a more viable option.
Makes me wish you could friendly fire your teammates.
But a do appreciate the switched on players who place it over a objective that you have to hold the button on
There the team players who deserve bonus points for having common sense
Not the drongos who place it at the entrance of a door for the enemy to walk in safe from getting shot
I immediately thought of this:

THe problem is the people who are defending are the ones who always put it down in places it shouldn't be, like on objectives the enemy needs to hack/capture, or in doorways that the enemy funnels through to make it easier for them. I mean, it's a basic concept that's easier than any other class assist in the game, why are people this bad at understanding it??
100% this.
Playing last night I had my Exploding Sentry wasting the enemy as they were trying to take an objective. Nobody was staying there for longer than a second before they ran. Until an officer on my team put his hamster ball in between me and them. Mental capacity of Jar Jar.
I could understand it being there for every stock officer and not knowing how to use it so well at some point.
But those guys actually have to go through some work to get the card, think that it's good enough to use one of three precious slots and equip it. Just to often make it a liability for their own team.
Yeah, and both times I was full sentry mode laying waste to the other team trying to breach the palace. It was so bad it felt intentional. But the worst part is that it happened twice, so close together. I'm fairly confident I had two knucklehead players thinking the same thing.
How about the teammate that jumps in front of your disrupter rocket just as it fires at the MTT.

Normally if there's a badly placed shield and I'm playing Hevay I'll just pop my Sentry and melt it quickly. It just annoys me as well when there's a sort of well placed shield... Until an objective is completed, and then it just gets in the way and is an advantage for the enemy. People don't seem to realise that they can retrigger the ability to deactivate it. Same with Leia's shield - it can be undeployed by pressing the button again.

Just the other day I was tuning one up on Endor and a teammate flew by on a speeder. I nailed him. Lol
