Phasmas staff countered by infantry melee

I think it is fair to say that Captain Phasmas staff should not be countered by a standard infantry melee. With all the changes that have been made to her staff its still useless. If you run at a player, a lot of lesser skilled players will just panick melee which prevents you from killing them with the staff.

    You should only use your staff when they’ve been stunned by your droid though.

    Bad advice. The staff when timed properly does not need them to be stunned. Obviously it’s easier on a stunned enemy but it can be used effectively in other situations. For example I will swing the staff at a charging Jedi (timed a bit earlier than one might think) and they won’t know what hit em. Follow up with last two hits and they are dead or nearly dead. You have to swing early I think is the trick people are missing. But to the op, you are right the staff should smash through an infantry melee

    Maybe in HvV, but never in GA. 3 seconds for anyone around you to shoot at you basically standing still.

    Fair enough, I was referring to HvV in regards to her staff being less than useless

    Infantry melee seems broken. You can melee any blaster hero, and palps to death , and they can't do much about it.

    Arent you the lesser skilled player, when you try to hit them with staff attack? How comes you know that they panick? Maybe they are just more skilled?
  • The mechanic is clunky in GA game. Unpredictable to time. To make it better:

    1. make animation smooth, like a jedi saber swing. Heck, just make it feel like lukes lunge attack even.
    2. make it faster, make it something you want to use over and over as you run around. Like force push.
    3. In the description, list what damage it does, more detail.

    This game often lacks clear instructions on how to best use tools it gives you.

    ya for me phasma is so terrible i dont bother to use her, until i max out the other characters, she is last on my list. her staff strike did improve on speed, not by much but still better. but as for the strike itself, it should never be interrupted. then both ranged and melee units of both troopers and heroes would actually see her as a threat. i have now, for the record, beat down phasma 3 times as a specialist.... A GOD**** MOTHER******* SPECIALIST. let that sink in. the weakest unit in the game can beat down a hero with just melees. just run in with the bubble shield deployed, she cant run away and she will not have a droid out because she left the droid behind to move up because most times and you can one man army her down and if she tries staff strike just melee her to death because those staff strikes won't do poodoo because it will get cancelled out every time i melee her. its a terrible design. if she wasnt phased by melees on staff strike she would be a lot more terrifying. but her staff strikes are still show than just doing a melee. so there is no point.
