Body is 5 characters too short.
  • Well that same guy said that the first Legendary skin we would get is Chewie with C3P0, which isn't the case. I never put stock into leaks on the Internet, sure sometimes they're true, but it's one "leak" out of hundreds that turns out to be real.

He also said we get extraction with the new Leia skin.

If you add to that Visceral's story about their game... It paints a really bad picture about how EA handles its IPs for money... So if that leak is true I just hope at some point EA gets what it deserves.

Interesting, but then most of the Reddit post could be pure speculation. We will wait and see.

One thing i think we can all agree on is the potential for this game going forward, it could be the biggest game in the world given the right steer, and right content, if that be paid DLC then so be it but make the DLC what the majority want, it would be a shame if this died and was put to rest.

Yes i know they originally said DLC will be free but come on if we want newer stuff and better stuff we will have to pay, its the nature of the beast. Hardcore Star wars fans will pay, what alternative is there, none, there simply are not any new alternative Star Wars games out there and i don't think there will be any time soon.

Initially there is so much they can revamp from the original games, surely this is cheaper than making new ones to start. Then use the money made to produce new DLC.
  • The Reddit poster is a fraud. He dismissively states that Disney isn’t against the Hutyslayer skin. Please.

    And this,
“Don't expect much changes in regards to matchmaking. The way it is now was the original intentional. There was some market research and focus group testing that found that tense close matches were draining on players.

Instead, it was found that a player played for longer and was less exhausted when he was put in an easy match where his team stomped the other. Then turning the tables put him back on edge. It's a controlled cycle of relaxing and then stressing the player.

This is why almost every match in Eafront 1 was close with it being hard to call which team would win even when the match was seconds away from being over. In Battlefront 2, notice how rare it is to have a close match. It's one thing to have an unbalanced match or two, but every match being a stomp is intentional.

EA's player retention method is to ensure players keep playing for longer hours without quitting. Taking into account a player's average score per match, average objective score, and other factors, they are grouped together to form a strong team.

A player will be on the stomping side or the side that gets stomped, alternating regularly.

Changing this core foundation on how matchmaking works will take a lot of time and resources, so don't expect anything more than a shuffle after every map change.”

Fiction. All gamers here, no? Does that ring true to any of you? Great matches! Boooo. Lousy steamrolls! Yaaaaay. I’m mean really... Market research? Just... No.

The most glaring thing about that thread was the way the posters were hanging on to every word he said, NOT what he was actually saying! I kept waiting for someone to challenge this nonsense but no...

Come on y’all, a few tidbits that everyone knows surrounded by and embellished with a BUNCH of Poodoo. Nothing more. Don’t be manipulated.

  • Just looked at his post from 2 days ago. His “leaked content” simply covers the most likely and most logical content drops. Me and my buddy speculate, conservatively, about upcoming content and we come up with about 50% of his list. My point is this, he takes a lot of swings... He’ll get get a few hits. I have zero inside information but I will tell you with confidence that we won’t see Huttslayer or battle damaged Vader. And again, that spiel about market research... it’s hard to even intelligently address such rubbish. I mean, all the other bugs we errors, but no... not matchmaking, that was design. ?? Anyone of us long time Star Wars fans and gamers with enough care to try could come up with the same type of fiction. You see these forums. Nothing he said that was actually in this new content wasn’t already vetted with speculation, on these forums. He’s just a well articulated, slick, savvy, troller.

While not agreeing or disagreeing with you (I don't care if the leaker is right or not), what is your counterargument to the matchmaking by design (market research)? Games are tested with focus groups and market research exists. They had to design some matchmaking system according to some rules. The most logical to "hardcore gamers" would probably be balanced matches, but does that hold on the "general public"? I don't work on that and I am not an expert, so I don't know, but if you are going to disagree with something at least you could give some kind of logical reasoning as to why it is so far-fetched.

And again, I am not saying the leaker is right or not. He could just be someone that had some insider info for some reason and knew what was coming in the first part of the Solo season. The rest could just be his own speculation, mixed with what most of the community already thinks. What is true is that EA only worries about the business part of games and that was one of the reasons that Visceral was dissolved with their own Star Wars game (that includes moving resources to other less risky projects). There are several reports around the web.

@Solomacedaddy , I just read it. I honestly don’t know what to make of it all TBH.

On the one hand, bits and pieces appear accurate/possible. While on the other some seem just completely world ending Darkest scenario to a fan/player of this game.

I can’t tell if it’s legit, or hearsay. But as from what we’ve seen, there always some truth on Reddit, but also non truths.

Just my opinion on that post.

    Also good morning everyone.

Reading that post made me sad, if that is all true than I'm just down right depressed about this game. I hope it's not the case, but knowing EA It could very well be a possibility. I really enjoy this game and want it to see a great deal of quality dlc.

Leak sounds too realistic, I really believe it’s legitimate. How else could the slow rate of content be explained? It took them 3 months to complete a progression system.... plus we have gotten no new content since launch except for playable Ewoks

People are enraged and rightfully so, how TF can EA pull this with a Star Wars title? Disney obviously could care less as long as EA generates money, but it’s pretty damn lousy and irresponsible that EA extracted all resources from this game before even giving it a chance to prosper. I’m sure people would buy MTX to keep this game alive, but this game already lacks the support to pump out cosmetics in order to generate enough revenue to fund future content. Unfortunately nothing can change now, EA already has your $ and could care less whether you like the game or not. Only way to initiate change is by refusing to buy any future EA SW products, if they even retain the license following this disaster.
  • The thing that is worrying to me is that they seem in no rush to make it easy for us to spend money on skins etc. That may mean see no real profit in it, according to market research etc., and so their heart isn’t in it. Worrying.

It seems legit - especially considering this recent update.

If it is true, then EA/DICE are pretty clueless as to why people pay for Overwatch lootboxes. PRO TIP - there's actually good stuff in them. Cringey generic emotes, pay to win coloured jpgs and currency are not worth buying.

They wanted the lootbox money without putting in the effort to fill them with content. Cheap and nasty.

Ok. I’ll start by saying that this is my opinion, but I feel strongly about it and I think it sound. First let’s apply simple reason. These games are better if they’re exciting, not boring. There can be no argument to this. Yes, there are focus groups and market research but the blueprint for success is already available. There have been many highly successful games. I challenge anyone to find that steamrolling was a contributor to their success. There is no way, in my humble opinion, that all of a sudden it’s been determined that we’ve been wrong all this time and exciting, close matches actually drain the players to the point that they’re playing less, and in fact boring, early determination of matches is a new pioneering concept to gameplay longevity. I have only my experience as example. I’ve been on both sides of the steamroll. Sometimes up to four or five matches but usually no more than two in a row.
These are my thoughts. With the resurgence of the movies, this is probably the biggest Star Wars game ever. The fan base is more diverse than ever. Many players now are Star Wars fans first, and true gamers second. With large parties of skilled gamers playing together for some hours, versus a medley of solo players across the board on skill level, matchmaking AI can only do so much. I think with this particular game it’s actually much harder than usually, and it’s as simple as that.
So, for this “insider” to spew out this absolute nonsense, again just my opinion, with seemingly assured confidence, totally discredits anything else he has to say. And for the record, to my mind he didn’t say anything that all of you haveysaid before also. He said a lot so I’ll repeat. I’d you take a lot of swings, you’re going to get a few hits.

Right. You would expect them to at least be releasing tons of cosmetics to start generating money. The fact that they aren't is a clear indication that they are letting the game go and just giving us "enough" to say they delivered on their product promise.

It's now certain ( I've read this many sources) that most of the dice team has moved on the Battlefront 5. And dice Sweden is the lead on Battlefront 5.

It's pretty obvious what that means. Take it as you will

  • While I usually don't believe leaks, the prediction on season two was spot on. There was nothing wrong, does anyone really think he guessed it all perfectly by luck? There's millions of ways the solo season could of gone down and this 100% accurate. Plus F8RGE just said he could respond to leaks, he didn't deny it. So I'll take it as true, and put this game on the shelf until Geonosis.

As in people complaining about progression tied to lootboxes?

Lol, so it’s our fault that because of EAs greed this game is on life support?

The consumer spoke and said it wasn’t happy. The minority like yourself that was more than happy with the shady practice, are part of the reason why the game is on life support because they thought people like yourself are happy to play and pay to gamble to progress. They thought wrong.

If this game has to fail because of us “crybabies”, good.

Some people will do anything and accept anything as long as the stamp of Star Wars is on the product. Thankfully a lot don’t.

    Blame EA, not the consumer.

In the last game they specifically said doing carbonite han had problems. Because there wasn't enough cover.
