Everybody's perspective on this post is good
    >Less stress; forced to work as a team; not a lot of farming for Hero points; best place for new players (I stay away for this reason - gives them a chance to learn the controls before GA); not much room for the cheaters either - they instantly kill the game mode
Why is this mode in this game? Why not invite a bigger crowd? What would GA look like without the Heroes?
    >Farming for points to spawn a Hero is definitely a progression issue that will haunt this game to the last day. Some see heroes and take a lunch - leaving like 5 players to fight the other side. Or, upset they don't get a hero all match and rage quit or stop trying.

Exactly. Also strike with 2 teams of premade parties against one another is super fun. Both have teamplay and no OP stuff like heroes and vehicles. Has a ton of replay value if it's done right.

GA is too chaotic, and the only true GA experience is farming BP (so most top players always choose officers, thus the nerf officer thread) and play as OP heal heroes to go on 40+ killstreaks. I really don't understand why avg people play GA who never get a chance to play hero/villain.

There is only 1 way to improve....and not playing a mode because you currently arent good is not part of that process.

I am all for group v group, Strike/GA/HvV, whatever. Hard to get though because my region is just not competitively focused. They rather cry foul (cheats) than accept that there are players who are a lot better than them. This game as a whole just doesn't have competitive mechanics, so will only ever be casual.

Strike was my groups primary mode at launch, but when you never lose even vs groups, it soon ceases to be populated. Its almost getting to that point in GA and HvV now. Showdown is already dead, simply because there are ways to never lose. Still about 60-70 rounds in and still havent lost...ridiculous.

Pre-mades and Strike? How can you NOT do well?

If your friends aren’t up to par. Also if the enemy team is skilled enough to be able to take y’all out.

Most players are terrible. It's extremely rare to run into a team of random players who are good enough to beat a stacked team.

Extremely rare, as in I have never seen this

Well I’ve seen it. But that doesn’t mean it’s not rare.

I’ve been pretty fortunate, then, as I’ve ony hit one really good premade enemy team (at least I assume they were premade). Granted, I’ve really only been playing the mode for a week, but I’ve found the matchmaking to be surprisingly good.

That said, I think there may have been a few times where I was put on n the premade team as we just stomped.

Chaos is fun. Cookie cutter rounds are what is boring. I just finished a round of Kashyyyk a little bit ago while playing my Specialist with over 30,000 BP. I could have gone early hero, but I was having fun sniping and playing the objective. In fact, I can usually/often go early hero and just choose not to.

Ok, so last night I played Strike partied-up for the first time and holy crow is it easy to dominate. I’m not saying this to brag, only to confirm what some other folks have said. And it was only me and @Jello770 and we weren’t even mic’d up. They really need to do a better job matching parties...

Well how many players from a clan do you consider it being a stacked team? I’ve been on the opposing side on servers with 3-4 players in the same clan, and our team still won. I guess maybe that was rare, but I often see this and they don’t normally strike me as particularly great.

Also wanted to add that the Kasshyyk Strike map is the worst... very boring
  • I prefer playing in parties of 2, 3, maybe 4 people max. Well, 4 when there was partner spawn. You know, when it actually felt as if you were playing with your friends?

If the party gets too big I usually just smoke bomb myself out of there.

  • If you like to PTO or complain that others in GA don't PTO, then Strike is for you. The focus is not on cinematics, or camping and watching faeces go down across the map, its about PTO. The whole focus is PTO.

This thread has reminded me that I don't play Strike enough. Once I finish grinding my SE-44C in Blast I'll come play some Strike again. Maybe sooner.
    Find me in Blast, CO-OP, CS, usually playing Officer/Specialist/Aerial... u/n cosworth99. #nt242headshots #oldguy

Pre made teams don’t always result in wins, if they’re skilled enough, they’ll still take us out. When I play with @ARC211092 and other friends, we have fun and we do get challenged.

At most, there will one or two players on the enemy team that are skilled enough to do anything, but they usually get mad and leave the lobby once they realize that they're playing against a party.

I’ve met some Awesome solo que players since launch. They sit in the match and wreak havoc. They like to see who’s who on the enemy team and single em out for the match.

I thinks is Beastly when they counter engage and Flank party’s/squads and get the upper hand through determination and sheer will.

Those are the players to be feared the most. The Lone wolf Carries. Those guys are on a whole differently level than the average player.

Seeing them act like a Tactical Scalpel cutting through teams is a delight for me. Hear my friends Rage is even funnier. I don’t get mad because it’s a respect thing. Here comes a dude by himself determined to see others fail, determined for him to stand at the top, no one stands in his way. He doesn’t care about anything except the massacre. You gotta Fear that dude more than parties lol.

Some of them are on my friends list now. Those guys are Heroes in my book. :sunglasses:

I play on PC so that might be why we see them in a different amount of rarity from our individual experiences.

The truth is Lone wolfs usually meet other Lone wolfs & slowly Grow to respect each other. Then curiosity gets the better of both Wolves and they become friends. That friendship turns into parties/premades. The cycle repeats itself, and then, Then my friend, you have what’s on my Friendlist on Origin, a Wolf Pack. 90+ players of Beastly Skill level ready to hunt.

@tandoori_oven & @t3hBar0n know Exactly what I’m talking about. We can each Solo que and do Very well each on our own. But we’ve played together here and there and OH LORD!

But there is an evolution to Lone Wolves that’s scarier than soloing. And that’s the Wolf Pack. Sorry for the long reply. I just felt some people didn’t realize this/know of this and wanted to share.

For me personally, I tend to run into that player type more on Hero Showdown than in any other mode. Last week, I got partnered up with a random player, and we won every match for about an hour.

This has been my experience, I mostly lone wolf it but I start recognizing names. After a few different times playing against each other and figuring out each other’s tendencies the friend request gets sent out on XB.

If your friends aren’t up to par. Also if the enemy team is skilled enough to be able to take y’all out.

Most players are terrible. It's extremely rare to run into a team of random players who are good enough to beat a stacked team.

Extremely rare, as in I have never seen this

I have been on premade teams that got destroyed. Probably different on PC.

Ok, so last night I played Strike partied-up for the first time and holy crow is it easy to dominate. I’m not saying this to brag, only to confirm what some other folks have said. And it was only me and @Jello770 and we weren’t even mic’d up. They really need to do a better job matching parties...

If I go against a team in any mode solo I never quit, it becomes my job to make them leave because they can’t win against me. Same in strike etc. I seldom solo queue now mind you since most of my team mates are back playing a bit, or I join other friends in other regions. Going against a team solo brings out the best skill wise. I will have a higher loss percentage going solo since some I can’t carry, but as a whole I would win most. I saw the mention of Showdown, I’m still yet to lose in that mode. I don’t care if my partner is afk, it’s actually easier tbh. People think saber is op, truth is those are the ones who think this mode is difficult

Today balance was horrible on Strike... our team just won 5 different maps in a row easily dominating only the first two rounds every map with full teams on each side.

I should have recorded one round on Jakku that only lasted literally 3 minutes.... I was a resistance trooper so I vanguard sprinted where the files are taking out two troopers from the side who were looking up the hill, then got the file and took out another trooper in the area...at this point I was able to run all the way to the ship extraction point taking out two more players on the way who were very ineffective. Makes me feel good to win the match on my own, but it got pretty boring to play such short matches. Thankfully the map loading is faster these days...

Also: The clans playing in my region on XB1 that I’ve played with/against aren’t that good, I guess, so I’ve never really noticed a difference on dominating. They seem to be slightly more competent at succeeding though.

I play 99.9% solo and most of the slaughters I’ve come across are the ones where I’m put into the match mid-game (a world of difference from GA, I might add). I generally just back away slowly from these, lol

When I have the occasion to be on the receiving end of a slaughter in a match I start from scratch, then I’ll wait until the round is over and back out (not any loss, but slaughters). While I do pretty well in Strike, I’m not good enough to carry a team against a decent party.

Ran across one on PS4 the other night on Strike on Naboo. The guy/gal was just tearing my team up. I managed second (it wasn’t very close) and he pretty much single-handedly willed his team to victory. Color me impressed...

If you like to PTO or complain that others in GA don't PTO, then Strike is for you. The focus is not on cinematics, or camping and watching faeces go down across the map, its about PTO. The whole focus is PTO.

This thread has reminded me that I don't play Strike enough. Once I finish grinding my SE-44C in Blast I'll come play some Strike again. Maybe sooner.

You should make that sooner than later. Strike is wonderful.
