  • Also just noticed that the update has further mucked up the problem with the Engine Upgrade Star Card for Lando's Falcon. Before this update, after unlocking the card, it would not let you upgrade it past the first level, as show in this screenshot I posted in the bugs forum a couple of weeks back -

    Noticed the card is unlocked.
    A few minutes ago (and a fgew weeks down the track) this is what it shows for that Star card for Lando's Falcon -

    So the new update has changed it to I never even unlocked the card. This means I have lost a skill point I earned! :-(

  • I was looking forward to HVV Starfighter version, however I was extremely disappointed that you spawn back in as a regular ship. Should be 10 kills each side, spawn back as a hero ship. I wont be playing this version until I see that fix.

    Same i've made a thread about some of the changes id like, you cant have a starfighter mode that works the same as HvV, it just doesn't work.

    I have honestly seen better games made by companies with 1/1000th of the budget and resources, how can a game be worse almost 1 year after launch than it was when it started./center]

    Actually the new format is better IMHO. Both teams have an equal chance to win. Plus it prevents a match from lasting forever.

    Can stop dying on Hero Starfighters ... after a few rounds I gave up :(

    Here's some basic tips:
    a) Do not fly straight into the enemies face, especially at the start. Most ships have fully charged abilities which eliminate you in a brief moment when doing that. I always start off trying to get something between my ship and theirs so they don't have a straight shot, then find flanking opportunities.
    b) Understand and play to your ship's strengths. And know your weaknesses. Interceptor types are fast but fragile compared to fighters and the heavier ships like Maul, Slave I, and the Falcon(s)
    They rely on their speed and maneuverability for survival. Learn the ships.
    c) If you are fairly new to flying in this game, don't go blazing forward full speed ahead. You will get singled out and killed in short order. Follow one of your teammates, lending them support. Observe and learn from them.
    d) There are more ways to kill an enemy than just shooting them down. Out maneuvering them in a tight space often leads to them crashing. In this mode, your team will win whether you shoot down the enemy or they crash themselves.
    e) I really enjoy the mode, but it gets pretty competitive so if you are new to the flying, spend some time in SA first to get a handle on the basics.
    f) Map knowledge helps alot as well.

    There is a bit of a learning curve. It is not difficult by any means but you do need to understand the nuances of the ships...

    Wow, I think they almost did it.
    I played a bunch of Starfighter Assault and after an attack and defend phase on one map, before the next map loads, it says "Searching For..." But it was only happening after every TWO matches. And a lot of the names in the lobby stayed the same, just on different teams. So team shuffling when the next map loads.
    Unfortunately, twice they stacked one team with the 3 highest scorers from the previous game.

    Hero Starfighters was still a mess though.
    She's so fine, there's no telling where the money went.
  • One thing I have noticed after playing some Starfighter Assault tonight is that with the additions to the HUD now putting white boxes around all enemy ships when they are out of range, it has started to brring some instability into the game video. I noticed it on Fondor as whenver IU flew near one of the cruisers or blockade runners, I started getting massive black flaring in the top right hand side of the screen which would obscure the screen intermittently.
    Only way I seemed to be able to get rid of it was to turn down the graphics quality in game from default (which is ultra) to high.
  • Love the new game play! Game seems balanced(except specialist) heros are strong but not God level . Don't understand people's complaints about the stamina? This is a shooter game. The heros take that aways sometimes.
  • New bug(surprise) in Heroes vs Villains Starfighters game mode-Hard Lock Lag of Death

    Here's the newest bug in Star Wars BattleBug 2

    When an enemy hard locks onto you, it causes you to lag, thus crashing or getting shot while in a lengthy lag ****. I've talked with several players(when we can find a match or before the round ends and we get auto kicked from the matchmaking bug) and I'm far from the only one suffering with this bug. The lag that has never been addressed is another issue entirely, this is new.

    Characters that can hard lock: Kylo Ren's Tie Silencer, Rey and Chewbacca's Millennium Falcon, Darth Maul's Scimitar, Darth Vader's Tie Advanced X1, and Yoda's Actis-Class Light Interceptor.


    Appreciate it if someone would pass this along to the professionally "aware" team that they broke something else.

  • Generally speaking, I LOVE the new mode. I LOVE the new hero ship balance, it works extremely well, based on experience in flying hero starfighters since the game release. However, the matchmaking for this game has SERIOUS issues which are killing the experience. Playing with a friend last night was an absolute nightmare, we only got in a few games because of what we had to go through to stay playing together.

    Here's a summary of the problems:
    1) At the end of two rounds on a map, we would spend a LONNNNG time in a "search" for another game, instead of going directly to the next map. Once or twice, we got put on the same map after this search, but most of the time we were separated.
    2) When we were separated, we were both dumped into empty lobbies which would take a LOOOONG time to fill up.
    3) When one of us left our empty lobby, to try and join the other in their empty game, we would get one of two messages, neither of which made sense given that our friend was sitting all by themself in a room: "Your friend is finishing up a game" or "Room full, in queue position 3 (or some other position)".
    4) The only way we could continue playing together was to quit after two rounds on map, start a new party, then re-load into a new match, and hope that we'd actually get a new game and not dumped into a game that was just finishing up.

    I imagine that point 4 above was probably messing things up for your matchmaking, as we had to constantly leave and enter the game, which I'm sure is not what your system was intended to do. If there were other squads or groups of friends all doing the same thing, it was probably creating all kinds of problems for your system.

    After a few rounds of this, we called it quits, because it was just wasn't fun going through all this for a short game. It wasn't like this the first day it launched, though, so I don't know what was going on at the matchmaking end of it, but it sure better get fixed.

    That was a test of a new matchmaking system. It's been disabled now, I think. You shouldn't see the "Searching For..." message between rounds today.
    She's so fine, there's no telling where the money went.

    You will see something similar though if any players drop out mid-match and the teams are uneven numerically. You will get a "Team Balancing" message which will sit there until you get enough players join to even the teams ort people on the larger team, drop off.
    Problem with this though is if it takes more than a minute or two, the server reads you as being idle and will kcik you out of the game. Had that happen twice yesterday.

    I wondered, but you know, they've test this "matchmaking" over and over and over, and they just can't fix the same horrible problems (empty lobbies, long waits, parties separated). Honestly, whoever they have working on this just really doesn't know how to make it work, and it's time to abandon whatever they are trying to do. It really is NOT fun to be on the receiving end of yet another failed matchmaking test.
  • Yeah, the MM is extremely frustrating, and partying up with friends seems futile. Or even pointless in most game modes given how it currently works.

    Hopefully DICE will finally get this MM nightmare sorted out soon. Especially before the new squad system is implemented.

At least in this test that didn't happen until after every two matches, or when the map changed. This was requested by some in the community (including me) so that players weren't playing the same faction more than twice in a row, and it keeps the map rotation largely intact. Baby steps, I guess.

    Well, this sort of was happening to us. Not after every game, but when we were separated, it often happened that we would get this after just one game or even just a portion of a game, since we had to keep re-starting. So in our experience, this wasn't an improvement. I'd rather play two games as the same faction than whatever was going on last night! It just seems like they are trying to appease too many people with little details, while not addressing the major core problems of the system. If they could fix those core problems, it would be a whole different story, but they've been working on this for way too long with no significant progress. Once they address the core reasons why this system just isn't working, then they can address how to fit player's requests and preferences into the system.

    Well being as how I got stuck on the Light Side 3 matches in a row in HvV, and the Dark Side twice in a row in Hero Ships, it did not work as intended. Spent more time sitting around last night waiting to see if the MM would work. Nope. Put in empty lobbies that never started to fill. Got "searching for" after single matches quite often as well. Even had a "searching for Blast" eventually dump me in my home screen. At this point, whatever they have been trying to do really is not working and I think they need to start from scratch. No baby steps. Each time has been worse and worse ...

    Hvs.V is different than Starfighter Assault though. In SA you play as attacker then defender on the same map. Then on to the next map. It worked that way in this last test, but not in the one before. That's where they made progress.

    I don't bother with Hvs.V anymore so I don't know how that worked out with the test or if it worked at all the way it did with SA.

  • One small thing. Is anyone else getting any flaring occuring when playing Starfighter Assault on Fondor, especially in the "bowl" area at the front of the Star destroyer dock? This is a still screenhot I took of the issue -

    I can only get it to go away by hitting "esc" to bring up the menu, and then resume, but it comes and goes even after I do that.

    It makes playing that map difficult as it quite often covers up the Imperial Cruisers and the Rebel Blockade Runners.

    I reloaded the video drivers for my PC just in case but the problem persists, I tried lowering the game graphics but it keeps happening on that map. Could it be the new white target out lines causing it?

    HvV Syarfighters is fun for me, except for some hero ships don't feel like it is in the movies like the millieum falcon. The ship have two quadcanoons that can fire in the front and back in the movies but not in the actual making the ship a little bit useless and not cincematic. I wish that in the near future that they update and change hero ship abilities and regular ships

    Its not that hard. Just listen to some general advice, like dont fly in straight and always, I cant stress this enough, always think about what you're doing before actually doing it.

    I often take out 2 - 3 players of the enemy instantly because they somehow think its smart to attack the falcon up front.
    The ship with the most hitpoints and the strongest gun. That for example is something to avoid, that a lot of people do.

    Also on top of that, you can also lose players (or at least make yourself a hard target) by using objects, walls, and pathways to lose them. It like a high speed chase in the force awakens.

    I can’t even get into a game! On double XP weekend! I’m usually super positive on this game but this is pathetic. On balance, with everything that has happened with this game, count me among those who desperately hope Disney/Lucasfilm DOES NOT renew the license for Electronic Arts! DICE are my favorite developers but after every update has a new fiasco to deal with, I wonder whether it’s EA resources or Frostbite or who knows what else. Lovely game. Terrible performance. It doesn’t get worse, it’s just an unenjoyable experience for at least someone for one reason or another.

    Bad Lag in mode and severe stuttering.

    Doesn't show milestone achievements.

    Why doesn't the milestone everybody goes home count in this mode? Everyone technically is a spawn mate so savior kills should count for Tallie, or have you switched off milestone achievements in this mode?

  • This game has been destroyed. There are too many issues to list. Halfof the things that were "fixed" still happen to me. The newest patch has almost made the game Intolerable. Not going to bother listing anything since it's already been posted previously. I would rather see **** holding down block for the entire match than what you have given us. And how did you make the emperor even more OP? I feel like I'm back playing GOWA MP and having a Zeus spammer lighting me up! And then you remove him? Test much? I am just glad I got this game at discount.
  • Saber hero stamina drain and regen should probably move the same way like Yoda while he's holding L2.
  • Also I hope people are aware there is now a bug that changes your default ping server setting as well? Been a whole heap of bug reports about it in the Bug Report forum. If you have been struggling to find a game, that might be why (for example, mine was set to the United Arab Emirates instyead of where I actually am - Australia).
