Cannot Find Any Players - US Primetime

Hey folks,

I just bought the game during the play station mid year sale, I’m Currently trying to play online for the first time.

I cannot find a single person online or any matches in progress. Everytime I search for a game, it end up creating a lobby for just me waiting on other players. I am in the US trying to play at 9:45 US central time. What the hell is going on with matchmaking?

  • I tried opening ports on my router as recommended by several people online, but I was not able to get that to work either.

    I am still having this problem, where I cannot find any populated lobbies. It just puts me in a completely empty lobby after maybe a minute of searching.

    Same form me in EU PC yesterday, no servers for hours, i switched zone and nothing, i dont know sincerely

    I'm terribly sorry you bought this game so recently, it has never been in a worse condition. But besides this, there are 2 issues that're currently causing such consequences:

    - Matchmaking: They implemented this terrible feature that actually scares the player base. It constantly forces us to do a re-search of rooms whenever a match ends. I can't play 3 matches in a row in the same room until MM forces me out of the room I was. So people are quitting the game because it gets annoying. Whenever MM happens, it takes longer for the next match because you're actually searching, and not just waiting to load the map, and many times people end up in empty rooms because of that.
    - Server Options are messed up: Server changing isn't working properly. I can't choose my preferred server anymore, and you're probably on the same boat. That means whenever matchmaking strikes, it may be sending you to a server with no active player base, or with high ping.

    I haven't been playing since the catastrophe of the latest patch. My few attempts ended in frustration very quickly.
    Tired of BUGs?

    Well, they'll still exist.
    But visit the Rogue Bros Channel, there we document many BUGs and possible workarounds for them. There's also gameplay and other videos related to EA's Star Wars Battlefront (I & II)

    Is anyone aware of this as a problem or are we just to assume the player base has dwindled to sub-critical lows? For me today's challenge on PC is to play 5 rounds of Starfighter Assault. It's been over 8 hours and I can't find a single server-from 3:30AM to 12:00 Noon zero games to be had.

    I guess the real challenge is to find a game at all. I'd contact Sony for a refund immediately before it's too late.

    at least you got it on sale. hopefully was $15 or less. that's a few drinks at a bar. but at least then you get the short term satisfaction of the drinks.

    Player base is definitely fine and actually quite healthy. The May 5th sale plus the Clone Wars announcement have boosted the player base massively. On PC, which is the least played platform, I engage almost only new players atm.
    (Judging by their character levels and the fact they have no clue what to do)

    Also I dont see the same players as frequently as I used too. Played last night from 0 - 1:30 AM and todays morning from ~7 - 8 AM in mid europe and had no problem finding lobbies across different game modes the whole time.
    Always different players. But a lot of people have your problem, mostly from distant places like South Africa or Oceanica.

    However, ofc this sucks for you. But maybe try to find some help on AnswerHQ.

    Bamaboy31 I dont know what platform your on but if I were you I would try to find a few friends who own the game add them to your friends list and try to join games with them. I'm on ps4 stevenomes add me if you want. if your PC or something else there is a recruitment page on the forum try posting there and see if anyone will add you. may have better luck with matchmaking in a group.

    Thanks for the replies! I am on the PS4. Luckily I got the game 70% off! But I still want to play it online, because that’s 85% of the content!

    Has EA come out and acknowledged this problem? Because I have seen a ton of people having this same issue.


    How do I change my region? I have not tried that.

    No EA hasn't acknowledged the problem and there are plenty here having this problem constantly. Some come in and shout it isn't a problem for them(which isn't at all helpful in those threads about this topic) so it gets ignored and they sell copies of games you can't play to unsuspecting gamers like the OP-OP's original post states that he can't find games-hoping that the new sales will counter the mass exodus. It keeps getting cheaper, do you know why? That's what it's worth. EA didn't get as big as it is by losing money. That's the value they put on it, 30% of the original price.

    I have this problem too. I'm on PC and in the central US. Same issues with my X Box account so it's across different platforms. We aren't all from Oceania or South Africa like some want you to believe is the case. Central US with plenty of friends on East Coast and West Coast servers that have the same issue. It is a problem!

    Get a refund while you still can. The reason it was so cheap is the lack of playerbase. 70% off is very telling!

  • It’s nice knowing I’m not alone!

    But, I still think it’s due to a technical issue in their matchmaking, because despite how old a game is, you can always find someone to play with.

    A year ago I still had no trouble finding people online to play CoD: World at War and that game is OLD. I can also still find people to play with in the first EA Battlefront.
  • Update! I FINALLY got an error code instead of just sitting in limbo in an empty lobby!

    I’ve gotten the message “We can’t find any available games for you, check your selection and try again. Error code 1,066”

    Have you guys been getting this error code?

    You can change the server location in the menu options region/ping
    I'm from Australia and i get games pretty much anytime on ps4
    I also change regions for a change
    Oregon and Virginia
    I can't remember the one in the middle of your country of hand
    But i can never get a game on that one

    Since the last patch
    Mine was terrible, couldn't get a game and my region selection was up the put.
    Kept changing me to Asian servers which are mostly empty .
    Last 2 nights they have been good.

    I haven't experienced empty lobbies more often than not, but I did get that error code a few times, typically it's fixed when I re select the game mode in question.

    To answer your question about finding player, I have to echo Toddyrocket with the added note of this 1. Some servers are better than others, and 2. Just because it has less pings, doesn't mean it's better. To give the short version keep switching servers until you find one that works for you.

    I don't know. Technically you may be correct but if you keep getting the error code or empty lobbies you can't play, neither can a multitude of others. This bug alone could kill the player base. All of the solutions suggested here haven't worked for me most of the time when this occurs. Plus there are definitely game modes where you can't find a match until playing that game mode is a daily challenge. That leans towards a dwindling player base.

    I think we're experiencing another glitch/bug of the failed matchmaking system attempts(3 failed at last count). This is equating to a lower player base still. Lots of people want to play the game, but lots of people simply can't.

    Ask the people you're playing with in the chat box who's having problems. Many will tell you that they are having issues finding matches. More and more are, just look at the number of threads on this topic this week alone.

    Personally the switch of zone didn t worked when is happened, i tried every server, close reopen and reboot the router, it fixed itself alone from morning in evening
  • I haven’t had any luck switching my zones. I’ve mostly tried different US ones and 2 different European ones. I’ll try all of them tonight. My hopes aren’t high though.
  • I'm on PC in the US and it takes me less than a minute to find a game of GA between the hours of 9-5. Otherwise, it takes me around 30 seconds

    I love the being put in empty servers, it’s a relaxing way to reminisce on what I’m missing.
  • I play on Xbox (in the eastern US), and I haven’t had any problems with matchfinding. I don’t even play during primetime, just late afternoon 4:00 pm EST. Maybe it is a Playstation Server Problem?

    Is there anyway to tell it to keep searching for several minutes until it finds a nearly-full server?
    Add more Extraction and SA maps please!

    Some threads were consolidated by moderators as well so the number of threads started were larger. This was just a quick look. How's that promised improved communication looking now?

    These are topics where players can't even play their game that they paid for. New players from the PSN sale that may have infused new life into the game on that platform. It has effected us on X Box and PC horribly too. Nobody has come along to offer any real answer at all. It's a game breaking problem. The great communicator fails again.

    No problem. Just thought you and the other thread starters would want to know that your problems aren't unique to you, it's happening to many players on all platforms. -I'm not on staff here lol.

    The staff didn't really comment on any of these threads nor did the community manager. That's concerning.

    I have had this problem for about 2 days I am in a large community base clan for PC and the only way I can get in games is by joining in on them. Oddly enough I'm in the group while we try to look for a Lobby It still gives the empty Lobby. then I can join in on their game and regroup. it sucks cause for a while I was thinking it was something to do with my internet connection or router settings. But after reading this thread I'm comfortable to an extent that it's nothing to do with anything on my side
  • I can’t find anyone either. Oregon server punts me to Ohio server. Then empty lobbies.

    Arcade is the only option for me now. Multiplayer is now fully broken for me.

    I’m really disappointed in this game. No other game out right now is having these issues. Name a $80 (CAD) game that is this broken. None.

    I don’t get a lot of time to play. And when I do, I can’t earn anything towards my troopers because only multiplayer counts towards anything.

    This is horse hockey.
    Find me in Blast, Strike, or sometimes GA, usually playing Officer/Specialist/Aerial... u/n cosworth99. #oldguy

    it's not your router or system. dont waste your time by unplugging router or powercycling if other games are working fine. it's not your its the game.

    Yeah broken for me too. Son is on school holidays in Australia and can't find a single match to play. Tried all day and just get error 1,066. Awesome EA and DICE.. way to go.

    It’s been a while, so I just wanted to update this thread.

    I still cannot connect to anyone online on PS4. I’m just being put in totally empty lobbies.

    I really do wish they would fix this issue, or let us know that they are devoting resources to this issue.
