Star wars HQ one of the biggest supporters and advocates of star wars battlefront 2 released this post today on twitter.

It shows their disgust with EA and DICE. Please retweet, like and comment. As Star Wars HQ are some of starwars battlefronts most faithful supporters, their distaste in recent DICE failures is more pressing.

@F8RGE we implore you for answers we want information, we want to knkw what's going on!!

  • Never thought I would see them say something bad about EA/DICE. I see their free hotels abd trips being revoked in the future.

@namthekid02 You're absolutely right, I've only seen them promote the game and be optimistic, DICE have butchered the game
  • Dang, that feels like another nail in the coffin. They better have one big surprise coming soon.

That guy has had nothing but hope and faith that things might turn around.
  • Are you talking about this prophecy about droidekas, I don't care too about them, they were cool in SWBF2005, but it isn't ruining this game even more if devs aren't planning to make them.

Well I'm shocked. But to be honest I feel a bit the same. What's the point in logging on here every day, checking YouTube and Reddit when it's always the same. Unnecessary hype. I think I might stop, and then one day when I hop onto the game I may be surprised to find something new.

    Good attitude bro!

The image was created to clearly show of the new clone skins. Whatever else is in the picture doesn't matter to be honest. However youtubers/redditors and general community decide to take every morsel of info to the extreme with theories and over reactions. So dice have to make such posts and explain it. Do you ever wonder why future game plans aren't shared earlier? Could you imagine the backlash if something changed over a 6 month period... Shock and horror. Think about all the movie trailers these days with shots/scenes which only appear in the trailer. Yet I don't see a huge backlash for those, just minor discussion.

It isn't the fact that it isn't coming that irked everyone, it was the 'That isn't a droideka' that got everyone going.

I don't think that's the issue: people are dumbfounded because the initial statement suggesitng, "That's not a Droideka," when it clearly, and unmistakably, was a Droideka.
It's one thing that they aren't coming, so releasing the statement to clear up any unfounded expectations is actually good and productive. However, and given the timeline of events, including "tidbits" of news from official unnamed twitter account(s), there should be a level of accountability and understanding on EA/DICE's part:
    • We should have hope for Droidekas (Twitter tidbits).
    • No official news negating our hope for Droidekas.
    • Hey! Look at that Droideka in an official image!
    • Official Statement: That's definitely not a Droideka.
    • Second Official Statement: Wait, it is definitely a Droideka, but after painstaking research into the matter(really!? it was pretty obvious, you have to admit), but we have no active development, and no plans to develop Droidekas.
I'm sincerely not trying to be negative, merely stating facts, and also trying to clarify, what I feel to be, the community's distaste.

Good points, how many of you agree? And if you disagree lets hear your side!

Look at Dennis's tweets from months back and hinting at Droidekas. Look at the Geonosis hint from Ben back in May I believe, are we expected to not get hyped over the hints? We were teased with them and then we see it then all hope was killed over a tweet. I agree with the shock and horror comment. The out rage would be bad. But with what we were hinted at by Dennis, can you actually blame us for having some hope that hey he delivered on his hint? Im as ticked off about this as everyone else is, but this is pretty bad. Im usually a optimistic person on this forum, Twitter and Reddit but this is beyond bad.

Ah yes, that part did get me too. It was quite clearly a droideka and initially thought it was a jokey comment but nope. Otherwise however.. pressing F for rolly bois. 2018-2018. After this joke of a slap to the face yesterday and today, the roadmap needs to be worth it and not another nail in the coffin. We already know it'll get rid of the fall and winter title, but if they truly want to make things right? Make sure the roadmap is worth this long wait.

It’s not going to destroy the game, but it’s another silly PR disaster that this game really doesn’t need right now.

At this stage I honestly don’t believe the Devs will be able to release anything without it being shrowded in controversy. :#

well if Star Wars HQ wasn't sucking up to EA and DICE in the beginning then they would have seen this a long time ago. SWHQ was hyping and promoting EVERYTHING DICE was doing because they were being invited out, if I were invited out i would have told DICE the truth on how everything they are doing is wrong and needs to be turned 180. i dont blame them though, its hard to make videos talking about how amazing swbf2 is all the time, guess they finally gave up.

  • Its not about the Droidekas though. Not any more.

Its the Droidekas being included in advertised promotional material.

Its about the high that the community felt briefly, that maybe after 9+ months we'd get some actual new full on content. Cos Kessel is nothing for some players who don't play the smaller modes.

Its about stuff in the game files since Day One being held back months after release.

Its about the devs delivering on things they say are coming.

Its about being deceived, lied too, and let down after the embarrassing way BF2015 ended with promises things would be better.

Its about modders doing more work on this game than paid devs.

Time's up. Star Wars HQ is done. The most positive, enthusiastic side of this community has had enough. That's it.

Good points, how many of you agree? And if you disagree lets hear your side!

I wasn't upset about the droideka or lack of at all.
I swear I thought everyone was just trolling about being hype for them after seeing the screenshot.
In fact, I'm still pretty sure that it started out as people trolling or joking around. "like omg droideka confirmed lolz"
But then some people started actually believing it based on said twitter tidbits.
I mean, did you guys honestly think they would add something like that without using it as a much needed opportunity to generate good press and intentional hype? Really?
Late yesterday, early today I was seriously surprised by the outcry over this fuzzy screenshot (that was defiantly a droideka that was never in question to me)

Honestly I'm not happy with content or bug fixes or balancing, but this is just asinine to me.

I think they overreact and over analyse due to the complete lack of information and the tumbleweed release of new content. They have backed the wrong game to follow and make content for. No doubt they are frustrated.

Dice/EA, lies, half truths and failed promises are of the dark side, Palpatine would be proud of the mismanagement of this title.

Droidekas? This is something that can destroy a game...

Droidekas aren't the issue. The issues have been well documented, and compounding, since launch. As BFUpdates suggests, there is no (or not enough) positive to balance out any of the negatives, including claiming that a Droideka isn't a Droideka, which is honestly just kind of poor form, on top of persistent bugs/glitches/and newly introduced (and sometimes game-breaking) bugs/glitches with nearly every patch/update.
DICE is in a tight spot because they continue to miss blatantly obvious problems with each update, but appear to have their hands tied with fixing them, or providing general support for the so-called "live-service." We are getting a trickle of content simply to meet the promises of monthly updates. Yes, a new large-scale mode is coming, and new heroes/villains to boot, but thus far, the implementation of much MUCH smaller content drops leaves many questions regarding the potential for game-breaking bugs/glitches with something so much bigger. In other words, the proof is in the pudding.
p.s. emotes and victory poses aren't an addition to the game - players have been hand-cuffed from using/purchasing them since the new progression system was launched. *Finally* unlocking them for purchase is not content; these are features that were included in the base-level game that we all paid for (many pre-ordered), but remained hidden behind some transaction code so that you couldn't use it. Essentially, the game still isn't "finished" nearly a year after release/beta testing, but we all paid full price (or more), when it's base value has already dropped to $39.99, and the hard copy is currently on sale for $19.99 at retail stores, and even less than that for your digital copy (~$14.99).
The game is stunningly beautiful, and the sound design is incredible, the potential was there, but appears to be not receiving the full support it deserves, nor the support we initially paid for.

There's a Clone Wars season in development right now and you will receive all the heroes and the mode they promise but Not the Droidekas, it's clear for me that everything is about Droidekas.

I get this side of the discussion. Fans (not just of Star Wars) always over-analyze things to shreds before a final product is ever revealed. So I do get the underlying point of what you're saying here.

However, I think this isn't even about the image that was shared and what was or wasn't supposed to be in it. It is the just the fan base being disappointed again and again and this was just another straw breaking more backs. I am an advocate for this game. I play a lot still, and visit these forums all the time. But I'm also getting bummed out. I'm still hopeful that our next update and roadmap will be a better sign of things to come, but I think the reason for the fans being upset is deeper than this art fiasco that went down.
