  • @F8RGE Any update on matchmaking/team balancing?
  • I'll say it again: I hope the fix to the server selection fixes the long time issue I've had of me being sent to a server IP address in London England (across the globe from me at 200+ms) even though I have the U.S. state of Ohio selected (which is two states away from me at ~65ms). The AHQ rep tried blaming my ISP on it because the route goes to Europe, however the destination is what affects the route, and the program affects the destination.

  • Will there be new hero starships as well or are Dooku, Anakin, Obi and Grievous just on foot?

    Btw, since I pretty much only play hero starfighters now ans have unlocked all, I always let the system select a random hero star fighters so that when you play with me you have more choices! Enjoy ;) Cheers!!

    I’ve had this happen, the game gets stuck when quiting out of a lobby and looks like it is constantly loading. If this is what you mean then I noticed this happened to me when quiting before the next round/map loaded. If you still have this happen then wait until the continue button loads up for the next match, then quit out, might help prevent from happening again. I haven’t had it occur since doing so.

    I had called for a 33% damage nerf to the ion torpedo so 40% isn’t too far off. A single heavy should not be able to take down a AT-ST with ease which is what I had been doing constantly over the past couple months. I’m hoping this change makes it so the AT-ST is hurting bad after getting hit, they can either try to retreat and recharge or go full assault. It should be a team effort to take them down though. Starfighters shouldn’t have to constantly be dodging ion torpedos either, I don’t play starfighters though in GA and don’t know how troubling it can be.

    I've been doing this lately and 90% of the time I don't have the issue with the black screen. Most of the time when I do have an issue it is when leaving Arcade mode.

Let them go hard on it for a few months and get this game caught way up and ahead of schedule, then put them on some other projects. A few months, all the overtime these people want, pay them (this is critical), and lower the price of crystals, unleash skins and weapon options, sit back and make your money and stop spending it on this game! I mean WHAT ARE YOU DOING!? Stop piddlefarting around and give DICE LITERALLY ANYTHING THEY WANT. Just be a good boss: leave your money AND GO AWAY.

Additionally, in case you complete a milestone that rewards an already-unlocked Emote or Victory Pose, you will be provided with Credits instead.

    In other news, the Palace Hangar on Naboo is now available for frantic blaster action on Blast and Custom Arcade. The map of Mos Eisley has also been added to Hero Showdown, for heroic duels outside the Cantina. As for those seeking thrills in the dark forests of Endor, due to popular demand, we are happy to say that Ewok Hunt mode will now be permanent under the Operations menu.

    Continuing with our Quality of Life updates, we have now made it easier to figure out how you compare to other players when finishing a match. During the End of Round screen, you can find information on your overall scoreboard placement, as well as how you rank in terms of objective score and combat score across teams and whether you were part of the winning team.

    We have also had a look at fixing different collision issues that have been pointed out by the community on a variety of maps, from Yavin and Bespin, to Endor and Crait. All of this on top of our normal round of balancing and bug fixes. As usual, let us know your feedback on all the changes.

    • Fixed an issue where the area of effect from Emperor Palpatine's Electrocute ability would sometimes persist on the ground

    • Fixed an issue where players could occasionally re-trigger Rey's Insight ability without waiting for a cooldown

    Chewbacca
    • Fixed an issue where Chewbacca's Ground Slam ability could defeat an enemy inside the AT-ST or AAT

    Boba Fett
    • Improved the weapon sway for Boba Fett's EE-3

    Kylo Ren
    • Fixed a visual issue that would occasionally occur on characters frozen by Kylo Ren's ability

    Darth Vader
    • Fixed an issue where players could occasionally remain stuck in the choke animation

    Darth Maul
    • Fixed several issues with the Saber Throw ability:
    • If used in Arcade with no cooldown, the ability doesn't work until the regular cooldown is over
    • Implemented new collision detection mechanics, so that Saber Throw will more reliably hit targets.
    • Fixed an issue where Maul’s saber would deactivate when colliding with level geometry, causing it to not hit targets at the end of the throw or on the return.

    VEHICLE CHANGES
    Poe Dameron´s Black One
    • Fixed an issue with the hint text that would occasionally show when activating the Black Leader ability

    Lando's Millennium Falcon
    • Fixed an issue with the tracking of the "L3-37 Flying" milestone

    LAAT
    • Fixed an issue where the LAAT's laser could pass through the MTT and damage the opponent

    • Fixed an issue where players in the LIUV did not receive trooper damage

    HERO SHOWDOWN
    • Fixed a visual issue with the framing of the characters during the intros in Hero Showdown

    STARFIGHTER ASSAULT
    • Fixed an issue where the vehicle would occasionally freeze and stutter for a short while after spawning on the map

    ARCADE
    • Fixed an issue where the countdown timer would be stuck on 0 when attempting to deploy on the Starfighter Arcade - Team Battle mode

    • Fixed an issue on Kessel which allowed players to avoid the AI by hiding into one of the elevators

    HERO STARFIGHTERS
    • Fixed an issue where the Hero HUD icons would disappear too soon when the round ends
    • Fixed a visual issue with the deploy screen briefly appearing at the start of the round
    • Fixed an issue with the End of Round message occasionally not showing up for players who are outside the bounds of the map
    • Fixed a visual issue on PC, where the Starfighter health bars would not be visible if the game was minimized when the round starts
    • Fixed an issue where a certain pre-round text would appear cut off in Japanese

    EXTRACTION
    • Fixed an issue where players would automatically spawn on the map, if they wait for the countdown timer to end on the defeat screen.
    • Fixed an issue where the Officer's Flash grenade would not blind the enemy team on Jabba's Palace in Extraction
    • Improved balancing on the last phase of Extraction in Jabba's Palace, by adjusting spawn positions and slightly increasing overtime for players on the Rebel side
    • Fixed a visual issue that would reveal the spawning of troopers right before the outro cinematic in Jabba's Palace

    • Fixed an issue where a stack of boxes in the map could cause a glitch with the player's character model that could be used as an exploit

    • Fixed an issue where the Sneeps would be found floating near the Star Destroyer's entrance

    YAVIN
    • Fixed several collision issues that would occasionally allow players to hide inside the temple mesh or walk through walls

    KAMINO
    • Fixed a collision issue that enabled Boba Fett to enter the dome building from a position where nobody could reach or shoot him

    ARC Troopers would't be appropriate to balance the addition of Droidekas. They were not infantry, they were covert special forces who didn't fight on the battlefront and, more often than not, worked alone. Granted they were walking killing machines, much like the Droideka, but deploying them like the regular soldiery would not be a wise decision.

    The Jedi's inappropriate deployment of Clone special forces is what lead to the death of over half the available Commando units at the first battle of Geonosis.

    That said, Commando units operated in squads of four and did tend to have more interaction with regular GAR forces in battle zones. Since the game already has a four-player squad system it would make more sense for Commandos to counter new additions to the CIS faction. Portable shield generators are no match for superior strategy.
    Wipe them out. All of them.

    And there're not showing advancement at the end of the round neither.

    Grievous in october
    Obi-Wan in november.
    Dooku and Anakin later this winter.
  • They left the crash to desktop feature. Whew! I almost thought they did some work.
  • I can confirm (at least on the PC) that the Deafult Server Ping bug has been fixed. If you select a different server form your default, the game will stay on that server until you either go back to "Options" in "EA Account" and either reselect your preferred server or use the default button. Thanks DICE :)
  • Love the new skins. Can't wait to play with them later! I also look forward to playing blast in the Naboo hanger. @F8RGE My one wish for the 41st would be that at least maybe the specialist class or assault had the ARF/Scout trooper looking helmet from ROTS, but otherwise, they should be fun to play on Kashyyyk :).

    1) Crashing to desktop - check.
    2) Random crashing - check.
    3) Empty lobbies continue - check.
    4) Era selection missing - check.
    5) Sound issue - check.
    6) I can see that NONE of the things Ben Walke stated has been fixed. NONE.

    Congrats to DICE/EA for making up that entire list of fake news in the CT. They did increase the number of crashes to games played. BF2 has now crashed 13 times, found 17 empty lobbies and haven't found a single game of any mode in three hours.

    Really!! finally had an answer to strafing runs and other vehicles! Half the time they miss your ground target all together. Completely not needed. a simple lowering of the cost of vehicles would have sufficed. If anyone has not yet noticed, good players have already found ways to counter torpedoes. bad idea dice

  • I'd just managed to play on Kashyyyk only to find that I couldn't change the Clone Trooper appearances from the spawn menu... I'd have thought this would be something immediately implemented from now on? I wanted to try out the new appearances but had to leave if I were to do so - and try again.

    No, there was plenty of other ways to counter before the unneeded buff.

    @Juuuushy I think you can only change the appearance right before the match starts. while it's great that they added this, I think it should be something you can change anytime you need to respawn, just like weapons, classes, etc.

    That's what I meant! It wasn't even an option on that version of the menu. Sorry for any confusion. I can't change it anywhere but the main menu.

    Well, the dumb devs do it again.....still no balancing...first 2 matches after patch steamrolled. Highest kill on our team was 5, while other teams had high 20s for first 10 players.

    Unacceptable garbage. I mean how misguided do you have to be to let this continue? Yeah, it's just payback form EA for going against their loot crate cash grab.

    I'm done with EA games, good luck with that bfv trash. I'm lovin' those bfv preorder sales down 85% behind blops 4. EA said "if you don't like it don't buy it", yep we aren't.

    I agree. The ATSTs will again rule the objective on Mos Eisley, Yavin, Takodana, and Craite.. also the speeders will continue to mindlessly be able to just run people over with no problems. I keep hearing “play as a team” well everyone right now is playing officer for points or specialists for bubble melees. There are never heavies playing the vehicles. No chat to ask for heavies so you’re just doomed.

    I agree @mega8deth8 . My biggest issue is that you can't speak to any squadmates or other team members unless you're already friends on the console system you're using. What is the point of a squad if you can't speak with them? They should really change the system to allow players, even if they're not friends, to be able to speak/coordinate with each other.

    I agree. The ATSTs will again rule the objective on Mos Eisley, Yavin, Takodana, and Craite.. also the speeders will continue to mindlessly be able to just run people over with no problems. I keep hearing “play as a team” well everyone right now is playing officer for points or specialists for bubble melees. There are never heavies playing the vehicles. No chat to ask for heavies so you’re just doomed.

    Ion toroedo will take half their health or more.
    Use sentry to finish them off.
    Or use specialist with nt-242.
    Not that hard to counter them.

  • @F8RGE opening (or purchasing) crates on Xbox One X still causes the console to shut down. Can we please get this sorted, it's been over four months now.

  • How come other EA titles such as GALAXY OF HEROS and FORCE ARENA have like 100+ characters and we get like 2 skins every six months, not even new characters, idont think people would mind skins of jedi and sith on pre existing heros as long as we have somthing new to visully see, and jedi mostly use the same force abilities anyway, same with Sith. Or create hero/villan would drive sales and playabilty. Think Grandmas Boy with the elves on level 4 scene.......How does EA NOT CARE about making this the best game ever??? Also think FOR HONOR but STAR WARS for duels and abilities. Maybe UBI should make a run for the licence

    Good work on fixing issues.
    Maybe I missed it - when the heroes in GA became cheaper (4500 instead of 600 and 6000 instead of 8000)? I guess heroes must have some sort of limit in time, because if someone who is good with heroes (as well as someone bad, but who will hide in the rear) takes a hero - he will not die very long, and in this time many players will just sit in the lobby and wait until a hero dies. I guess there must be done something with those "waiters" or just limit heroes in time (like AT-AT as example), because heroes are now easier to achive.

    And bug report: when playing as specialist in GA with standart Infiltration - I wasn't able to see enemies on the radar

    Yup that’s genius. I’ll use 3 ion torpedos then die. Switch to specialist and shoot sniper shots at him. It will only take about 20 shots to “finish him off” lmfao. Problem is, always 2 there are. You might as well be shooting spitballs at them. You die before you finish them off. 3 torpedos and a full sentry does not kill them FYI. I just played Tatooine and it is again a nightmare. Long live ATSTs

  • Just saw a release schedule on the Star Wars Show for everything being released through winter. Anyone have the image of that schedule? I haven't seen it posted anywhere.
  • EA and DICE has clearly shown that they can not handle anything STAR WARS without messing it up. Just take the skins that is so lazy added without any consideration to what is correct and what is not. Anyways I give up this game. Clearly they should not have been given this responsibility for such a great francise.
  • Really excited for the update, just a few constructive ideas you might consider implementing to serve the player base!

    For the new clone skins first I think everyone is excited about them cause Clone Trooper skins are awesome but some slight adjustments to make them more accurate would go a long way! I worry that the developers are more worried with making all classes look the same (not a big concern for players in my experience) for whatever reason then making the new skins make sense.
    1. The 41st Elite Corps skin for the Specialist should have the Scout Armor Head (even the Imperial Scout would do as it already exists and for a Specialist class none the less) in the camo style which would be a direct grab from Revenge of the Sith, this is a no brainer and can't believe this wasn't already the case as that is the most seen armor from this group in the movie. The pants and color scheme are a bit off for all of the classes but I don't think that is a huge issue for most if other things were taken into account. And in that same vein why not give us Clone Commander Armor in that style for the officer as part of the package which folks have been dying for?!?! You could make the 41st Officer skin look like Commander Gree from Revenge of Sith again giving us an awesome new armor without creating a new hero. This rewards the fanbase with the clone commanders they want without throwing off the Hero/Villain Balance and forcing developers to come up with new skill sets for all these commanders. I haven't seen yet if the 41st armor looks accurate with the Phase 1 armor yet but it should just be the Green markings and not the camo so hope that happened or if not make that change.
    2. The 327th Star Corps all the classes should have the armor accents the Specialist does to make it look movie accurate, which looks fantastic, with just the differing helmet coloring and effects per class to differentiate them. Then same with the officer clone commander armor just grab a screenshot of Commander Bly and let us have that! Real easy changes that would have made these additions an A instead of just a B/B-

    All this could be copied for the future Clone Skins per different corps you have planned especially with the officer armor, and attention to detail when crafting them for the different classes would go a long way. I think the only actual heroes you might consider from the Clone Commander ranks are Rex and Cody as they played the largest role in both The Clone Wars and Revenge of the Sith. You could then use the officer skins in the 501st and 212th groups for people like Appo and Gregor/Waxer that played critical roles in either ROS or Clone Wars. This despite my love for several other officers (Wolffe, Gree, Thorn, Fordo) they could all just be skins for the Officer without too much of a pushback as long as it looked accurate. Then give us Asajj Ventress and Savage Opress to keep the light/dark balance when adding the 2 clone heros or any number of darkside villains from Clone Wars or the prequel era (Cade Bane, Darth Sidious, Aurra Sing, etc...). I don't feel like any of this is breaking the bank on redevelopment or even a huge change from that side but would greatly improve the reaction from fans that weren't as thrilled with the skins as we wanted to be.

    Excited for the future releases and that they are finally giving us great skins and content from the Clone Wars era!!!

  • Hey I just tried the new naboo hangar map. Incredible! I also love that the room where quigon and obi wan fought darth maul. Ido have one issue with the map and I know that it's not my horrible aim because I never had this glitch happen on any other map. Plus I'm not a bad shot either. The glitch is this and keep in mind I played the match with one hit kill: occasional ghost ai. I had a few times where I land a shot on the ai and they wouldn't die. I even shot a separatist at point blank range in the chest with no obstruction 3 times and every shot went through him but he wouldn't die. He finally did die after killing and got shot by an ai on my side. This ghost glitch needs to be fixed.

    I agree @mega8deth8 . My biggest issue is that you can't speak to any squadmates or other team members unless you're already friends on the console system you're using. What is the point of a squad if you can't speak with them? They should really change the system to allow players, even if they're not friends, to be able to speak/coordinate with each other.

    We have a chat on PC but it's completely useless as 80% of the topics are about calling players "noob" or "cheater"... Nobody cares about what unit is more needed on the battlefield or what you request for. Trust me, you don't want the chat anytime soon.

    And by the way, the new squad system will possibily encourage people to play together so if you use your torpedoes combined with your teammates' weapons, you can take down AT-ST quite easily. I just destroyed 4 of them on one round and I'm far from being a good player.
  • No bundle of characters now, and still no new weapons as promised in previous posts....certainly hope the next update offers something more rewarding than just a paint job. Huge fan of the game regardless, but the disappointments just keep on rolling. If you don't think I have room to speak check the gamer name tag, certified exterminator ☠☠☠
