Almost 20 New Skins Coming

I was writing about the new roadmap for OnMSFT (I'm an editor over there) and was trying to think of an angle for the article title instead of just resorting to a lazy "New Roadmap Release" headline. Looking over all of the new content announced, something occurred to me; we're getting almost 20 new confirmed skins within the next few months.

That's pretty incredible and I'm surprised no one at EA is pushing this more. What's even more exciting is that we're probably going to get a few more that simply haven't been locked in yet.

There are a lot of people complaining about lack of new content but when you break it all down, we're getting quite a lot in the next 3-4 months.

Edit: You can see my article here if interested though it's basically just a summary of the roadmap.

While I think it's awesome, I just don't know if just the mention of it will entice non-players to come to the game. They will wait until Heroes are ready and drop a trailer. That would be the way to do it.
  • what they need to do is live stream for clone wars. build up hype for Grievous show him off in action and his abilities and have an interview with Dev while they play him. they used to do live streams with the dlc in bf2015. builds up a lot of hype. or have another community event like they had season one. choose a side and complete challenges etc. something similar but better managed than that one.
  • Still connection errors going on, lack of new maps for Extraction, SA, GA and no new weapons and I’m supposed to get excited for badly done clone skins. No thanks I’ll pass.
    #StarWars-y
  • 20 new skins coming and only 2 clone skins in game are already bad done (whole 327th, 41st specialist and 41st on Kamino)
  • 20 skins, what?

    We're getting:
    • the 91st Recon (which was already in the game at release)
    • the 104th Wolfpack (which was already in the game at release)
    • the 212th Attack Battalion (which was already in the game at release)
    • the 501st Elite (which was already in the game at release)
    • the Coruscant Guard (which was already in the game at release)
    • Kenobi skin A
    • Kenobi skin B
    • Grievous skin A

Looks like 8 to me. And five of them were in the game at launch. Plus from what we've seen in the last two skin, the legion skins are nothing to get excited about. They're both basically inaccurate trash.

I think he's counting the clone legions separately for each class. A 212th Assault, 212th Heavy, 212th Specialist etc... that brings the up substantially, 18 I believe.

We're an upbeat group as you can tell. Your article was refreshingly positive.

    This +1

it's all cosmetics though. now if they said we have 4 maps and a new gun for each class, and 10 different star cards coming throguh end of winter, that people might get more excited for. provided that all the major bugs are fixed first before introducing new, potentially game breaking bugs with more updates.

Sure but we need moar heroes too
Top favorite heroes and villains missing:
    Ahsoka, Rex, Padme, Cody, Mace
    Bane, Thrawn, Ventress, Jango, Savage

  • yes add 4 heroes to it (already announced) then could generate some serious hype.

Appreciate the mindless optimism but the game is dead.

LOL... if they were even slightly different, I could see that. But it's just the same color pattern slapped over the default gear of each class. Eight skins, I stand by that number. Five Trooper skins that were in the game at release, and three hero skins.
  • Need hooded luke and maul,
  • The Clone skins are a welcome addition - especially for Kashyyyk (Camo). But I have to recommend that They turn off the 'super gloss' - to a dull shading - and turn up the green for better blending in the treeline.
