  • The ion torpedo had already been nerfed to the point of being useless against star fighters since most people had figured out how to dodge the torpedoes and the damage didn't do enough to have much of an effect cause the could leave the battle and get all their health back but you lowered the damage even more? The strafing damage/deaths had increased a lot already and we were are back to the same issue as before...nothing you can do against starfighters from the ground. Now you've made it even worse. Thanks. Glad I had already stopped using heavys to go anti vehicle (this was the only reason I used them) and got used to using a specialist for it. The only thing you could do to make up for this is create an anti-vehicle enforcer class and let them do the damage with torpedoes prior to these two nerfs that were done. No reason to play a heavy anymore.

    Give an alternative means to take out Air Vehicles. Its near impossible for a single Trooper to pull it of, brain dead team mates are no use. Enough is enough. Make Air Vehicles suffer permanent damage.

    Me too. I'm with the rest of the community in this: this game is too hard and needs to be watered down so I can do muh button mashin'. I want it dumbed way down so that I can get easy victories and beat on my chest and call myself, Beast!

    Are the developers even aware of this forum!?!? How was it decided? I fail to see the merit.

  • R.I.P. to my heavy and R.I.P. to Galactic assault (for me anyways). They nerfed the heavy right out of usefulness now. Why increase the ion torpedo to 3 shots just to nerf it back so far that now 3 shots equals the one shot before. I'd rather just fire once and get it over with now. The straffing kills are gonna be unbearable now. I guess I'll be running the ONLY 2 extraction maps now and exploiting officer's insane ability to get battle points and wreck that mode as wookies. Or get steamrolled in HvV because 90% of the crowd can't grasp the TEAM concept and you are stuck getting crushed by parties. Of the fun we'll have. It just gets worse (for my play style) every update. I'd like to hold on till Grievous and OB1 but I might not make it. This might be it for me.
  • We have added a new default setting to the ping site option. When you have this selected, the game will attempt to match you to any of the ping sites that you have the best ping to. In the real world, this means that if you are located in Europe and have a good ping to both Frankfurt [FRA] and Dublin [DUB], you could be matched to either one, meaning you should find games a lot quicker.

    Been unable to join even half-filled lobbies. Only empty ones. So good for quick finding.

  • Looking forward to testing out the new squad system but cannot understand why they nerfed the Ion Torpedo again or changed the Ion Turret...

    Strafing and AT-ST kill streaks are back after the last nerf as it is, this update will effectively kill the Ion Torpedo and increase the amount of vehicle spam and exploiting.

    As a side note - the Ion Turret now only hit's tanks which makes sense but when DICE say 'asked for by the community', could they maybe consider putting it to an official community vote?

    It probably won't even do that now. It'll probably just keep targeting the locked objective (ATAT or MMT etc.) as long as ATST stay close to those they'll never get hit by anything but underwhelming ion mod attachments

  • I have an AMD Radeon 7900 Graphics Card and I can not play the game now after I updated the Graphics card drivers. Everything is like 5 frames per second. Even the menu.

  • Bit worried the spawn system is going to make it very hard for the attackers. I've only played one game but we (the defenders) were constantly pushed up because nobody had to go back to default spawns

    Yeah, that is great and all, but did they fix the blue monkeys on Kashyyyk that are stuck in place and can't move. That is very important and those poor guys need to be fixed pronto!

    The 91st Recon Cops were a regiment of the Republic during the Clone Wars. Lead by commander CC-8826, or Neyo, the 91st were involved in many battles across the Clone Wars.

    104th “Wolf Pack” Battalion
    The Wolfpack was a battalion that active throughout the Clone Wars and known for numerous military operations. On one such encounter, they engaged on a night assault on one of the last remaining outposts of General Grievous.
    The 104th Battalion can be identified by the iconic Wolf logo that identifies the squad, and the dark blue markings upon their armour.

    Ping Site Changes
    We have added a new default setting to the ping site option. When you have this selected, the game will attempt to match you to any of the ping sites that you have the best ping to. In the real world, this means that if you are located in Europe and have a good ping to both Frankfurt [FRA] and Dublin [DUB], you could be matched to either one, meaning you should find games a lot quicker.

    These changes will start to arrive alongside the September update and further updates will be made in the months after, as we continue to tweak and improve the matchmaking system.

    Matchmaking
    End of Round (EOR) matchmaking is a feature you will have noticed before. It’s something that has been turned on and tested at intermittent periods over the last few months.

    The two key benefits to the end of round matchmaking will be:
    • Mixing players up more often. As a result of this it’s less likely that you will find yourself stuck in a poorly balanced game for more than a few rounds.
    • We’re changing the matchmaking behaviour so it favours filling up existing servers, as opposed to starting new ones. This means that you should join servers that are trending towards being full, as opposed to joining an empty one.

    We go into more detail on the Matchmaking within its own Community Transmission, which you can find here.

  • Love the un-announced changes I just found -

    1. I just played 5 rounds of star fighter assault. Joined a match in progress on D'qar in its first round. We moved to Fondor for the next map (which is where the rotation starts). Imagine my surprise, and hatred of then going to the Unknown Regions Map, which used to be the map before D'qar. Who asked for this change? Nobody.
    2. Who wanted the spawn timer added in SFA? When you died you could click on the "skip" button, select a new unit and re-enter combat. Now you click "skip" you have top wait 5 seconds before you can even pick a unit. So if you died so you could select a hero ship, good luck as it may not be available when the timer runs out. Again a change nobody asked for and does nothing but give people the manures waiting to get back into the game - I mean starting at a spawn screen for longer is what everybody LOVES right? Why don't you increase it to 30 seconds? I'm sure we'd all love that.

    As to the "team balance" and "matchmaking"? ROFLMAO after what I experienced in 5 rounds of play in Starfighter Assault which I just finished. I'm a decent player in that mode, but in all 5 rounds I was on the losing team. Yep all 5 times the team I was on got beaten soundly. Great work on balance there with you great changes.

    I told you in your tests after each one that your match making proposals wouldn't work, and if what I just experienced is the result, then it just shows that DICE you have not listened one iota to your community and don't give a fig what we think at all based on what we have experienced. You may know a lot about coding, but you don't know much about predicting the hardest thing known to predict - the behaviour of people.
  • Was bit hyped over the squad system at first, now a bit disapointed. Its nice to spawn to squad member. But its still randon. Even with 2 player party's are but in diffirent squads taking the fun away.

  • The 2 new skins from the update of 25th September costs 40000 credits each. They wrote 2 for 1 and thart 20000 credits per skin was credited, but I paid 80000 credits for the 2 skins ! No 2 for 1 !!!

    OK, perhaps I was not clear about needlessly quoting F8RGE’s post just to do a one-liner response. You took it to the other extreme, quoted him twice and gave no response.

  • So people were still complaining about Ion Torpedo damage? Like it's fair to have vehicles just spawn killing (Starkiller Base) and ground troops can't make a push? So players can still get Tie Fighters etc. and continue to strafe ground troops without concern b/c they cried the loudest against me for wanting to shoot them down to protect my team?! Now they ruined the Ion Turret, I never get killed by one and it's a great deterrent against flankers. I've never seen it shoot anything flying (maybe it does) but it's best quality was targeting ground troops. The officer turret is a joke compared to SWBF 2015, and now the Heavy turret isn't a threat anymore either. Of course turrets are annoying, what isn't?? The constant snipers who just want to hang back and shoot? The thousands of endless grenades thrown in hallways? Rey's cheap mind trick? Lando and Chewie's stun grenade? Kylo's freeze? The constant jumping by players who you're trying to 1v1 (complete trash move, not found in any movie, comic, real life military engagement, or any tactical training but hey, it looks great in Battlefront!) My point is eventually everything gets nerfed to the ground till nobody wins and what fun is that?

    No offense to anyone who feels differently, I 'loved' the Ion Torpedo and Turret.

    Same here on Xbox One. Loaded up the game after installing the update the home screen showed the 104th Heavy but it says I’m offline and needed to connect but then it freezes when I try even after I restart the game, can’t even play arcade for some reason.

  • You got rid of the ion turret locking onto troopers because of some whiny noisemakers??? Quit using these people as the voice of the players at large. That's like when the FCC takes action against a television show because a few highly motivated complainers shout at them and they are mistaken to be reflective of the majority. Yes, it's frustrating getting hit by those torpedoes. That's part of the challenge in the game. Quit being a child and deal with it. And then you nerf the ion torpedo on top of that??? Who is making these ignorant decisions?

    Same here. Loaded up the game after installing the update the home screen showed the 104th Heavy but it says I’m offline and needed to connect but then it freezes when I try even after I restart the game, can’t even play arcade for some reason.

  • I updated my copy of bf2 and it's not connecting to the servers and it's freezing

    Same for me. UK XB1.

    GAME loads OK but not connected. When I try to connect the animations freeze but the countdown globe is working. After a minute or so I get error code 770.

    Tried restarting the XB.
