  • I just played a few games with Heavy and my points were cut to about a 3rd, just uninstalled the game. I didn't play it much anyway but when I did I played Heavy. Plus the new spawn is ****, never was that good of a game anyway and now it is on its death spiral.
    Well if you grind it out on other classes the game can be fun, but if you only play one class, then yeah maybe BF2 is not the game for you.

  • It's still not connecting

    If you are on XBox live sometimes an update screws up your account and you have to go to support to have them reset it. I've had to do that a couple of times now. Not the end of the world, just annoying when it happens.

    Squad System

    91st Mobile Reconnaissance Corps
    The 91st Recon Cops were a regiment of the Republic during the Clone Wars. Lead by commander CC-8826, or Neyo, the 91st were involved in many battles across the Clone Wars.

    104th “Wolf Pack” Battalion
    The Wolfpack was a battalion that active throughout the Clone Wars and known for numerous military operations. On one such encounter, they engaged on a night assault on one of the last remaining outposts of General Grievous.
    The 104th Battalion can be identified by the iconic Wolf logo that identifies the squad, and the dark blue markings upon their armour.

    Ping Site Changes
    We have added a new default setting to the ping site option. When you have this selected, the game will attempt to match you to any of the ping sites that you have the best ping to. In the real world, this means that if you are located in Europe and have a good ping to both Frankfurt [FRA] and Dublin [DUB], you could be matched to either one, meaning you should find games a lot quicker.

    These changes will start to arrive alongside the September update and further updates will be made in the months after, as we continue to tweak and improve the matchmaking system.

    Matchmaking
    End of Round (EOR) matchmaking is a feature you will have noticed before. It’s something that has been turned on and tested at intermittent periods over the last few months.

    The two key benefits to the end of round matchmaking will be:
    • Mixing players up more often. As a result of this it’s less likely that you will find yourself stuck in a poorly balanced game for more than a few rounds.
    • We’re changing the matchmaking behaviour so it favours filling up existing servers, as opposed to starting new ones. This means that you should join servers that are trending towards being full, as opposed to joining an empty one.

    • Fixed an issue where the chicken near the East Turbolaser would not be fleeing from the player

    GENERAL CHANGES
    • Added Ewok Hunt and Extraction-based challenges to the list of Daily Challenges
    • Removed Hero Showdown-based challenges "Perfect Together" and "Vader and Kylo", based on player feedback that they are too hard to achieve in an online environment
    • Fixed an issue where Iden's character and description text would be missing from the Campaign's spawn and customization screen
    • Fixed an issue where players would not be able to change their Clone Trooper appearances during the pre-round screens on games taking place on Kashyyyk and Kamino
    • Added additional UI effects when unlocking an Emote, Victory Pose or Appearance from the menu
    • Increased the maximum numbers of players in a group to 20, and the maximum number of players who can play together to 8
    • Fixed an issue where the button to get more Crystals would not show up in the Emotes and Victory Poses screens
    • Adjusted the "Saviour Kill" stat, so that it tracks relevant kills from the whole team and not just the squad members
    • This update will automatically disable CrossFire functionality for players with AMD Graphics Cards running on Windows 8 / 8.1, due to lack of support for multi-GPU with the specified operating system and GPU vendor.

    KNOWN ISSUES
    • Squad members that are inside certain land vehicles (Armor, Artillery, Speeder, Tauntaun, Mountable Turrets) are not correctly shown as being inside vehicles on the Squad Spawn screen. The fix has been identified and will be implemented in the next update.
    • Selecting to spawn on squad members who are inside land vehicles will temporarily disable access to the “Choose Character” screen. The issue gets resolved once players choose to spawn in the Default location. The fix has been identified and will be implemented in the next update.
    • The spawn screen UI will, in rare cases, remain on during gameplay on Strike, or Galactic Assault. The issue gets resolved once players choose to respawn. The fix has been identified and will be implemented in the next update.
    • The cooldown timer of the Shock Grenade ability would not be affected by the Resourceful Star Card. The fix has been identified and will be implemented in the next update.

    Punch It

    This is garbage Ea you know it and we know it.. SO lets go again credits are so hard to get in this game i guess crystal sales are way to important then actual player base and unforgettable experience.. Honestly the only reason i installed this game again is cause of the clone wars DLC and that takes forever to come ... Been a while and the only thing i see you Ea doing is returned the Microtransactions and improve the FPS part of the game.. No new hero no nothing, SO the arcade mode need improving and its credits need to be more i kill 100 for 125 credits on hard wtf EA being greedy is what got you in to this place.. And instant of you correcting your mistake and actually improve the game we got few bugs broken palpa then removed palpa and now this **** update LMAO next year or whatever i am never buying a game ever ever from, aside from the credits your games are not optimized well i am so sorry that i ever spend money on products from this greedy company...
  • The new squad system is terrible. The ability to spawn on squad-mates instead of in spawn waves decreases overall skill ceiling of the game and gives defenders an unfair advantage. High-level play with this feature is now push with 3 squad members while one sits out of combat and acts as a good spawn point, doing nothing but officer buffs or ion support. So basically, if everyone played the game well 75% would push and 25% would sit around in cover doing almost nothing; otherwise you allow defenders to push up and take control when the initial attack wave dies. I just miss the days before this feature when everyone on the attacking side could push without worrying about one member per squad sitting out of the fight and with the added tactical element of reinforcements coming in waves from dropships or MTTs rather than teleporting (spawning) in on a squad member hiding in a corner, away from the fight. In general, this squad system massively decreases my enjoyment of Galactic Assault and will likely lead to many skilled players leaving the game as this promotes casual combat where location of spawns is more important than effectively eliminating enemies.

    Agree, why did they change the squad system??!!! The worst thing that has happened to the game :/ ...
  • Nice matching in strike 2 on 6, 4 on 8, and several strike matches you don't even get to start, because you wont even move... and two games ended after the FIRST round because every one quit and left the game on that team!!!
    You have to respawn to even start the round....
    And 3 times Endor being the last, i just stood there with the woderful new spawn timer stuck on 10 watching my team of 3 to to there 6 being blowed away the last game....
    And had to leave that game also, because the stupid new idea of a spawn timer intered the game, that never works seeing as everone is always in combat, and you CAN'T spawn to them, so just have to click defalt and enter unless you wanna set there for 2 or 3 mins waiting on someone ELSE to click defalt, and get behind them at the old starting points!!! I "may have" got to spawn to someone 3 times in like 10 whole games, so whats it's point in Strike when you have to fumble over to defalt and start from the old locations 97% of the time anyway "if you wanna get back in the game anyway" I have screan shots of my frozen WONDERFUL spawn clock stuck on 10 several times, but dunno how to upload them here, sure it'd fall on deaf ears anyway, untill next months botched atemts to fix things... You cant even get full teams on strike now guess, all the regs have left Strike to now, in 10 games i seen no one i knew outta over a year and over 1,000 hours on this game ONLY sense it's all i play nightly... I aksed 3 people off my list that was online to come and play, they all said no BECAUSE of the new spawn crap, and because like me there upset over loosing the heavy's lock turret... I'm like the other people I read said, call out the cry babies that whined about the lock turrets to US, what i read most said it didn't bother them, because they could dodge them like any half way decent player does... SO make a post about the turrets and ask them crying about them if they was just so dangerous why wernt they useing heavy and useing the turrets them selves???? seeing as like lots of other posts i read said there AINT enough of us heavy useres around anyway, in Strike there is only about 6 of us devoted Strike only regulars that use heavy anyway... So in my eyes the new update was useless and only caused MORE problems on Strike anyway, most are just happy about some #$%@^ chicken being fixed on GA i guess, so it soulda been about the only thing fixed...Guess your great "inventers" mothers never told them if if not broke dont fix it, ya @^@%# sure can't play when your frozen on 10 a spawn timer "that can't count down" thats usless in strike anyway, when everyone is in combat 97% of the time and can't be "spawned to"!!! And ive seen alot of people bashing comenets so before you bash me, I DO use all 4 and am 70 on them, I just prefer Heavy and Speclist some times Assault, and I do NOT consitter myself "good" but am in the top 2 or 3 and rarly outta the top 5 every game... And i'm NOT crying about the loss of the turret lock either, but hey why not just knock my Assaults one shot kill Vanguard down to a scratch, my Specialist's trip mine down to a scratch, and the Officers Disruption half out??? If you knock heavy's 2 bests things down, the other 3 the "cryers" and "compliners" use should suffer also, fair is fair eh? So bash away doubt I play much after they screwed the games up anyway, who want to set and watch a frozen spawn clock and have to exit the game and jump a new one every couple games, just to get there and see its 6 on 3 and the 3 leave before its over...

    That the was purpose of the ION weaponry in BF1. A trooper's counter to vehicles which was critical when playing as rebels against relentless ATST's.
    MTT's and ATAT's are heavily armored to propel and assault forward. Taking them out SHOULD be nearly impossible otherwise it defeats the purpose of an assault. In conquest type map, they'll need to be nerfed.
    BF1 had no real counter to ATST's except T47 speeders which were not on every map and were a favorite target of TIE fighters. BF2 doesn't even have these badboys on any maps other than Hoth which is a constant source of disappointment to me considering ATST's are available on just about all of the post Old Republich maps.
    But one player can make a huge difference with the old torpedo. Now it takes team play.

    Looks like this patch has introduced a bug into Starfighter Assault with the map rotation.

    Prior to this patch, the rotation was-
    1. Fondor;
    2. Endor;
    3. Kamino;
    4. Ryloth;
    5. Unknown Regions; and
    6. D'qar.

    Now it seems that the map rotation refuses to go to Fondor and Endor.Case in point played yesterday, after D'qar, it sent us to the Unknown Regions.

    I just finished playing it now. I joined a game in progress on the US Virginia Server (PC player). Game was on the Kamino map. We then went Ryloth ->Unknown Regions->D'qar. After D'qar did we go to Fondor? Nope we went to Ryloth, and after that to the Unknown Regions again which is when I quit.

    Edit: I cam here and posted this info, and went back to the game, same lobby as I'd left a friend playing there. They'd gotten back to D'qar. Lo and behold we finished D'qar and went to Fondor. So it appears it is a bug which happens some times

    Hence this is a bug which needs to be fixed as the patch has the game restricting us at time to only 4 maps.

    Umm, THAT's the point. This game isn't geared to lone wolf play. Teamwork is how you win matches in this game.

    OK, dial back the hyperbole.
    The ION torpedo isn't killed, the damage it does has been pulled back a bit so it isn't a one shot kill weapon for fighters. Starfighters that are able to go unchallenged is a problem for the team who isn't sending up opposing fighters to counter attacking pilots. If ground troops have to defend against aircraft, then THAT is the problem for one side. It is not the responsibility of troopers to take out fighters.

    so, still getting into empty servers and squad respawn is bugged. so basically the same stuff.suck a shame that a prety decent game has such dumb bugs and server problems. :'(

    Each crate yields 3 appearances, which would normal cost 60 thousand on their own. However, you pay 40 thousand for the crate instead. Or, if you own one of the skins already, it gives you 20,000 credits each.

  • Please DO imediately something with the new squad spawn system!

    It is so unbalanced. Kamino in Strike just need 1 player to sneak out behind defending team to Delivery point and then wait for runner with data- Its hard to twist that. Every one will start spawn to that person. The same situation is with attacking to that point. You have killed almost all enemies except one and then his mates can spawn on him. And its like a you never killed them. Never ending story. (AND Kamino at delivery point is large. 1 enemy can easily hide)

    Its no longer about skill but about faster spawn.

    Galactic Assault turns into slaughter. Everyone spawning close to squad with no reason and get killed easily. Same with defending any objective asin Strike. Lives running out faster.

    Not balanced. 5sec out of combat and you can spawn. Doesn't matter if you are defending objective or running cross a map.

    In Strike is new spawn system pointless as maps are small.

    No possible to control map now..

    Please think about it!
  • My Fitbit said I've run from Earth to Jupiter and back again in this game, so I'm happy the new Squad System cuts down on some on the running.
    I think 4 players being able to spawn in at one point in GA is a little too much, maybe cut it down to just one other player?
    Checking your flank, clearing the objective/area only to have 4 to 8 players suddenly behind you really kills all sense of Pride and Accomplishment.

    1) It Should be shut off on map areas with pinch points.
    2) Heros should not spawn with squad.

    If anyone has not noticed it is getting much harder to get through pinch points or small objective areas since the update.
  • On PC, I have kicked completely out of the game on Naboo in Strike game mode. No errors, game just closes. Has happened 3 time tonight, only on Strike and only on the Naboo map.
  • Very "nice" update: now I have a completely black background in the menus, no characters showed, and every map is totally empty when I enter them. I see nothing, yet the fight is going on, I just can not see a thing.

    now you guys @F8RGE need to make the arcade maps bigger and allow for a single player use of AT AT and other land based vehicles and speeders in arcade mode. That would be nice and also for a co op option in arcade. Please make the players happy :smile: and do us this kind gesture please
  • What happen to play only Clone Wars or any other time era in Battlefront 2??! You just removed it without telling and hoped we did not noticed?! Put it back please and do not remove without telling or without having a very good reason DICE!
  • What he said ^^^ Why are things getting removed? This is supposed to be "Clone Wars" content but so far it is a total joke and there is no way to play "Clone Wars" content on it's own.

    Squad system? horrible. Just destroyed another team. Seriously this new squad system needs to go.

    "New Skins"? It does not take this long to design and build skins. These are lousy. All you seem to be doing is adding a crappy couple of designs on the same skin and it's new? How is that even interesting? You realize we have nothing of any worth since the "Mines" map.

    There is nothing in this game to make you want to come back and play. No replay value. Everything in it is old and tired. There is no point you are adding no value to a dead game.

    Congrats on another game ending bug for XBOX owners. WHY do we not have SERIOUS apologies from DICE and EA about the state of this game? It is a wreck. I have been following since pre-release. fix your game. release content that people want. for gods sake release good content that is canon. Because you clearly can't even do that.

  • When is the october update coming out? it is gonna be in october like 30th or in the very beginning since its only a new character and some fixes, just tired not knowing at what date things gets released! :disappointed:

    The September hot fix is expected today. Perhaps the roadmap also, but that will be this week if not.

    The September hot fix is expected today. Perhaps the roadmap also, but that will be this week if not.

  • Dice I heard in the hotfix that you are going to allow people to spawn on heros, except Boba. This is a mistake as a lot of the force users can get to places that Boba can reach too.

    Imagine this you are playing GA on Endor and a force player jumps on top of the cargo aircraft at the landing pad, or on top of the hangers and people start spawning on them. The only people that could get up their to them are force characters or aerials.

    Same thing with the buildings around 2nd and 3rd phase objectives of Mos Eisley. Only the force users, aerials, and Boba could get to them.

    Samething with the landing above the 3rd phase empire spawn point on Deathstar. Boxes too in 3rd phase, but they are in the open and have no cover, so it's not as useful.

    Samething with 2nd phase Yavin at the ruined temple. You shouldn't be able to spawn on the roof of the temple as a standard character. Only force users and aerials should be able to get up there.


    In all honestly the squad spawning just needs to be removed completely because there is no real way to balance it in GA. Maybe in the new large scale game mode we get next year it can be used. But it will never work in GA without turning off so many of the features. Standard characters should only be allowed to spawn on standard characters when not in the control zone or under fire.....that's it, that's the only way to make it balanced and this is essentially turning off most of the squad system functionality.

    Because the ping site fix they claimed would resolve this was a lie. All the default ping site does is slap the word "DEFAULT" on whatever server you had chosen before. Nothing actually changed. They just wanted to make it sound like they worked on it.

  • The new Squad System is great! No more stupid waiting in the spawn screen in sterile ambience.

    But some more fine tuning is needed. My suggestios are:
    * First spawn screen should be like the one before showing your mates. Including the classes and level...
    * Ingame, squad members should be displayed in the upper left corner with health status.
    * Respawn should directly start in the spawn screen and not in selection screen. (There is still the button to change your class)
    * Points for spawning on mates, rewarding them for team play.
    * Minor issues like unable to spawn at mates not attacking or being attacked, ...
    * And yes, i'm a fan of instant respawn ;)

    General feedback:
    The game is getting more and more like it should have been on release. Content is coming but still to slow. Interactions with the community is meanwhile good. The current heroes unleashed event is great!

    No, it happens on every map now which only began to happen after the latest patch so EA/DICE approved the crashing. They also approved preventing Xbox players from playing.

Hes the only lightsaber wielder that doesn't have a blocking ability give him that and the game would be complete...but are you gonna be doing that?? Nope you **** aren't. And your gonna have the pay to win **** reek havok on the casual players??? How about don't find this game anymore and stick to you pestering battlefield games and your madden games. If I see no balancing in the next update or 2 I will not be okay your pathetic game or games anymore. You guys have failed on making games. If anything Disney and Lucasfilm should've gotten rid of you gambling **** months ago. But no you want that easy gambling money from the pay to win fuckwads...here is a picture or screenshot I took from this morning..people this is what EA does when not listening to their community..

  • Agree 100%. Soderlund got canned and it's only a matter of time when the rest of the execs take the bullet from investors after more bad PR and governments begin to prevent their gambling err I mean gaming from reaching their kids.

  • Nice fixes overall, and I am loving the squad system so far besides a few bugs and that you can't spawn on Heroes or Reinforcements. Keep up the good work though!
  • This “squad system” is ruining GA. It’s so rare to get past the first set of objectives as an attacker much less win a round now.

    There is no consequence to dying. Therefore strategy and tactical play is disappearing. It’s just an insane shootout of spray and pray now.

    I’ve got over 1200 hours of play time on this game and feel like it’s almost not worth playing anymore.

    Please get rid of the squad system in GA or make it more consequential to die somehow. The game did not need a lot of these changes, it needed to have what was already in the game cleaned up and made reliable and functional.
