  • yeah i will play SF assault and heroes ships this weekend !
  • can we all have a Candy bag? :D
  • I wonder how EoR MM is gonna effect map rotation which map is gonna get played over and over for that weekend?
  • real great idea. /s I've played only either kashyyyk or naboo in 2 hours of game play and hit the sound bug 3 times in kashyyyk. and lets not forget to mention being match made into empty lobbies. jesus.
  • Thank goodness they are keeping Deathstar in the rotation! You guys are really complaining about additional content being kept in the rotation?
  • Looks like I'm taking the weekend off. DICE doesn't have a clue how to light night maps, because they don't understand how light and the human eye work. There's basically only 2 rules:

    1. Light reflects off of everything. So even if there's even one light source you have some sort of vision to see your surroundings.
    2. The human eye adjusts to take in the most amount of light as possible to see.

The maps shouldn't have me standing in complete black zones where I can't even see my own character or anything else in my immediate area. I should always be able to make out my surroundings where light is present.
  • It's not really double xp, your just getting the credits you would have got if you went wasting time in menu screens with this matchmaking crap.
  • when will Crait have Night mode?
  • All fine and dandy if all the lobbies weren’t empty.
Find me in Blast, Strike, or sometimes GA, usually playing Officer/Specialist/Aerial... u/n cosworth99. #oldguy
Add me (xbox Oregon server) if you like

Can't wait for this... happy holloween
  • I'm kinda over Kylo's light saber sound during this increased time at the home screen,, thanks eormm
    Need my scanner fixed please
  • Please remove the night mode it’s causing a huge bug where audio is not transmitted or received.
In addition every time the maps are changed it comes near to impossible to find a game especially on GA
  • Hoth and Crait are my fav maps.

I will not be playing at all.

  • Jabbas palace comes with a night version? Didn't know this.
  • HvH all weekend, time to level up my heroes. Troopers have been at 70 for months. When can we expect an increase in rank? It's nice to have things to work towards

Props to DICE for fostering a community and attempting to curtail Red Dead 2.

I think that’s gonna be awesome!
  • You forgot to add 'Hey America' at the beginning, because this message means nothing to players in Japan who can't get any games except GA.
If you see this, it means I haven't found a game in well over 30 minutes.

"all of this chit-chat" about maps not rotating and the lights going out - no appreciation for the Double XP weekend?
I played in Virginia and Germany with no problems - but I feel your pain if you can't enjoy the extra BP
And don't forget to load weapons with night vision and use your Scan Dart tool... happy hunting

I am good with the double XP. Thanks!
  • Is it really going to be night time in Naboo or just Dusk. Because the setting they have now is known as dusk aka sun setting. Night is obviously no other light beside the moon and stars. So which will it be?
And death star II, what is that going to be like? Turning off the lights? I'm just confused and would like to have night mode more specified. Also, everytime I try to get into a game, I go straight to the main menu. It's either that or an empty lobby.

  • Any Double Xp event is appreciated. I'm hoping for frequent returns of the 8v8 Hero Mayhem event from a few weeks ago. Now THAT was fun!
  • This event is great with the EORMM up and running. Death Star 2 six times in a row before I'd had enough.

I was actually looking forward to this event because I really enjoy the night time maps (especially on Tattooine), but getting stuck on the same map over and over or waiting in loading/menu screens is not that much fun. Why do you insist on making it so hard to love this game?
  • Could someone answer a question for me which is fundamental to having fun in this game?

Q: Why does the winning team get access to more powerful classes which allow them to score more points quickly and kill enemies instantly?

Once the better team gets access to better classes (particularly rocket troops on Blast and Hero's on Galactic Assault), their chances of winning increase significantly as it becomes exponentially more difficult for the losing team to get access to better classes.

Someone's obviously spotted this fatal flaw, otherwise you wouldn't get points for being killed (even more points for getting killed by a hero), which should sound the alarm bells as far as balance goes.

As an average player, it really sucks the fun out of the game. When we're winning, it's just three or four players tooling about with hero's racking up massive amounts of kills whilst I run around looking for something to shoot, whereas when we're losing, it's three or four players tooling around kill me and other people with one shot.

Would be nice to have game modes where there's no access to hero's or even advanced classes. After all, now that the pay to win element has been removed (which now highlights that the whole game was designed from the ground up for people to buy hero's), surely some of the game modes could have a non hero mode?

It isn't instant though: I've seen heroes spawned (and spawned them) very quick
Both sides have opportunity to get the same number of heroes.
A major deciding factor is: getting that 2x multiplier.
Staying alive while getting points however that manifests itself in the mode you are in...
The trick is whether or not you are on the defending side, how good the enemy team is and your choice of gameplay.
The map can be a deciding factor as well.

    just to point out:
Regroup at that point, don't attempt to lone wolf enforcers or aerials unless you are confident, you have them dead to rights.
In other words, buddy up with friendly players. (Sorry if I'm overstating the obvious)

    Try grouping up with friends.
You can coordinate on voice chat, team up in areas to counter enemy activity, or just chat about what ever :)

EoR MM is still turned on so it wasn't like you could take advantage of double XP.

  • Still comes down to strategy. If they have 2 heroes early and we have none like the DS usually on Kashyyk (Cause its easier as the droid) i sometimes wait to spawn as a Hero, even though i may have more than enough battlepoints.

I gauge the play of the enemy and the play of my allies. If we havent launched the ion launcher once, then i wait for a more difficult phase to make a stand, like 2 or 3. If im already a hero i play conservative until another ally hero comes into play. Just depends. No point in getting ganged up. I think you just gotta play smart. Sometimes I’ll have enough BP to spawn in as a Hero 3, 4, or 5 times in the last phase. You earn most of all you battlepoints playing as an Infantry, not as a Hero. The BP earned for a kill as a hero is a lot less. We may lose early but then really make it difficult in the last phase.

What im trying to say is the losing team that is getting wrecked often doesnt play smart. Some people spawn in as soon as they can and then just lose their hero just as quickly, wasting 4500 or 6000 points, on a 1 v 4 scenario. Its okay to let them have a Phase and then be able to gather up and make a stand on another phase. Or i check the scoreboard often, if you have a team of 14 players and they have a team of 20 players why should i spawn as a hero and work hard to prevent a phase 1 onjective from being captured when i know were going to lose it, and me more likely to die or lose a lot of health. Wait till the server fills up then spawn as a hero, or play conservative till then.

Or like on Theed Phase 1 for example i Flank A LOT as as an infantry and kill their heroes because theyre playing so aggressive and have their guard down. Or get behind and eliminate thee enemy tank, by myself, that is giving our team trouble. Especially good strategy is to get behind with the AT-ATs on Phase 2 Crait. You know theyre shootjng at the objective so move up the sides and get behind them. Couple minutes of stealth can equal good dividends if you play your cards right. You get a lot of extra points for taking out a Vehicle.

Often times your losing early because a lot of players think only 1-dimensional. Shoot directly what is in front of them. Storm to the front lines and try to let the 2 trenches fight it out. Or like Kamino Phase 2.5 where there is often 8 people shooting behind the door, at the droids on the stairs or in the main central hallway.

Point is a Good Player v Average Player is the good player thinks smart. Flanks often and counters what is giving trouble to the team. Get behind them for example and take 4 of them out. There is plenty of ways to flank on almost every map. Or get in a LAAT if theyre not taking them out and single handedly eliminate one or more of their heroes.

If something isnt working, do something else. Stick together. Even 2 units that are near one another and work together can do alot of damage.

As many games as we’ve gotten completely obliterated. Ive had almost as many games where we made a last stand and won at the end. If youre playing against a team that has 5 guys that are squad up and playing together yah thats probably when your gonna get sweeped. But there is a lot of ways to put up a good fight. Look to see who is good on your team and work with them and stay around them. Take out heroes or reinforcements together. Boosk or an Iden trolling and sniping in the back, get behind them and kill them.

Like said above, if your forced into a scenario where you cant flank them, then be smart and dont lone wolf into a 1 v 4 scenario, or single handedly against a Reinforcement (unless you have disruption card). Going up the TurboLasers one at a time for example is just easy pray. Wait at the bottom of the stairs until 3 or 4 more units show up and a hero. Or if they have a lot of blaster heroes equip the Disruptor as an officer. Use a bubble shield to protect yourself and other units when trying to capture and onjective, etc. If you have enough BP to be able to pick a hero, try choosing a hero that can counter their hero.

Early Access to a Hero DOES NOT = Automatic Win

Manage how you spend your Battlepoints as well as how you operate and conduct yourself on the field.

If you can help it, try not to play the game by youself. Try playing with friends or sending a message to one of the better players to squad up or work together.
