Flash Grenade Nerf Did Nothing To Reduce The Spam

I still see it, probably more than before. You get a group of Officers running FG and recharge command and you still have the same problem, just not one part of the problem.

  • Timer of officer’s flash grenade needs to recharge 15 to 20 secs more. That’s another option.
  • At least it doesn't cripple Heroes anymore. It use to be my go too for taking out Darth Maul and any blaster Hero solo one on one.

  • It’s a default weapon in your hand with very weak replacement cards. How could you expect anything different after a nerf?

    At least now you can move quicker. Instead of being a sitting duck.
  • the blinding may be worse but supposedly it doesnt hinder movement now like before. it does seem to last a little longer but that's probably not true.

  • I'll put in the simplest terms. If Assault had recharge command and could get back to back acid launcher, Ion grenade or Vanguard, or Heavy class for explosive sentry and barrage I'm sure these forums would be singing a different tune.

    That what happens on any map with choke points and indoor areas - 4-6 Officers spamming FG, half using recharge command the other half dishing out health buffs.

    And for those saying the Officer is useless - Please, I run Officer and have noticed very little changes except for on the Blurrg.

    The S5 is a huge change, used to be 3 shots at range. Now it's 6 don't tell me that's a little change cause it's not.

    As long as people have the ability to throw grenades they are going to be thrown. There are cards that defuse them and reduce damage from them.

  • Bunch of whiners. Flash is fine.
  • Well duh. They nerfed the effect but didn't address any of why they're spammed in the first place

    1)it's a default grenade with situational replacement cards (diffuser is good but only certain situations e.g. flash spam)

    2)Recharge command simultaneously gives a double grenade and a very fast cooldown to the next double grenade.

    3)Any other officer near you running the same and you can essentially all just spam flash indefinitely. Stacks the more officers there are in a given area

    Is nothing to do with the grenade. If Assault had recharge you'd get detonator spam (already do but there'd be more). If Heavy had it you'd get impact/barrage spam. If Specialist had it you'd get shock spam (which has the same slow effect as pre nerf flash and would be far more annoying in large numbers).

    I'm reluctant to suggest any nerfs as it's fine as is. Look away. Or run Diffuser on your own officer and laugh.

    You can only stop spam if you make it like the first Battlefront where Star Card cool-downs would continue throughout respawns

    Nerfing something isn't going to make people stop spamming it and actually if they believe it's just weak now they'll spam it even more now feeling the need to not save it
