BF2 needs more guns and a new unlock system for weapons

The number of guns currently in the game is very low, and this lack of variety is a big problem it makes the game less fun. At the very least all of the guns from bf1 should be in the game that would presumably be very easy to accomplish because dice already has made the guns once just transfer them over. Right now there are only 4 primary guns for each class, that number should be increased to at least 6 or 7.

Another issue is the unlock system it's horrible right now. A kill based unlock system makes no sense and takes forever, it adds an artificial time barrier to unlocking the already low number of guns. The system should be rank based plain and simple. Reach rank 3 unlock 2nd gun reach rank 6 unlock 3rd gun reach rank 9 unlock 4th gun and so on. That would be much better than what it is now

    Agreed. The troops have been neglected badly since launch.
  • Maybe If they bring back Hutt Contracts and port over some BF15 weapons like the Cycler Rifle, give all base weapons mods and relax class specific weapon restrictions (for some weapons, not all) that would help immensely.
  • Although i would not say that there needs to be a completely new unlock system, especially for new players the weapons should be unlocked faster and more weapons would be really appreciated
  • I'm not excited about bringing back the Hutt contracts as I am about allowing players to buy new weapons for their classes. As I posted in another thread, any class ought to be able to use any weapon -- per "Lost Stars", we know Imperial officers are trained extensively in many disciplines. And, per Leia in Bespin, we know she (& Chewie) can handle an E-11 just fine.

    How about permitting users to buy weapons with credits, even say 5,000 credits for my officer to use an A280 (with all mods available)? Player rank shouldn't have much to do with it, in my opinion, ... "only money". No credits, no extra weapons.

    It’s been two years and I just unlocked the last gun for the Specialist the NT242 because it’s supposedly great at killing Armor moreso than my Heavy with ion weapons And torpedo
    I’ve unlocked everything else because their easy to get kills with,
    The officers se44c Rapid Fire mod still eludes me though, and other than that OP mod he’s not as fun to play as the frontline classes like Heavy and Assault

    I reached rank seventy first before I unlocked that last gun, it was only two weeks later that I scrimped up kills with the Sniper class to get that accursed weapon.

    I averaged 1-2 kills per 6 deaths a match
    That A280a rifle kinda sucks without burst mod, I straight up struggled using it for a time before I unlocked the burst modifier

    this game needs ALOT more blasters! and why dont you just make them customizable like in battlefield?? with the A280 you did right! different scopes, barrels...why stop there? and why give us only 2 options for attachments? give us different customization options for:

    -barrel
    -scope
    -stock
    -reciever
    -magazine
    -grip
