Honestly, whoever you spoke to gave you really bad advice because the 104th STILL have the helmet of Sinker instead of the standard Wolfpack helmet, and then there's this:

Eh? None of the 104th clones up there are using Sinker's helmet pattern.

The Phase Is still are. They shouldn't have the large colour portions on the sides of the helmet, they should only have a small bit of colour in the recessed part of the helmet like so - https://i.imgur.com/kGfMlkh.png.

I doubt anybody would really have missed them.
But it's not just about the fact that they've gone to the pointless effort of naming legions nobody cared about.

    Please speak for yourself, thanks.

    Evidently so.

It still is unique because the Phase I is light blue and the Phase II is grey. Plenty distinguishable with just that difference.

Well, Charlemagne explained it, or tried since it's related to silent changes to canon:
-41st Elite Corp: Kashyyyk, default (white-green)
-181st Armor Division: Naboo, default (white-red)
-87th Sentinel Corps: Kashyyyk, camouflage, scout helmet
    -41st Ranger Platoon: Kashyyyk, camouflage

In words of Charlemange: "Two legions were deployed onto Kashyyyk (new canon). One looks like the current appearance and one looks more like a scout/recon trooper. Things were renamed and shifted around. I’m still trying to catch up. I think this is the first time it’s been made public."

  • These new changes look and sound pretty cool! Only thing I don't find appealing is the fact that Phase I and II troopers will be able to run together. If it were me, I'd keep the two phases separate, like before, but go ahead with the other fixes and changes.

Love the new canon Legions! I'll rock the 181st for sure! Love the look of them, especially the Heavy. Can't wait to see all the corrections and new looks!

Also, will the 91st Recon standard clone helmets still be available? I like their look on the unit. It would be ideal if we could swap between the standard helmet and the more "streamlined" helmet seen in RoTS.

Oh Jesus, if that's true then this is so ridiculous and I cannot understand why Lucasfilm have felt the need to do this.
The 41st Elite Corps are not the DICE-made Kashyyyk troopers. Their standard non-camo Phase II armour looks like this and when they were deployed to Kashyyyk they primarily wore Scout armour because it was essentially their jungle armour in the same way that real-world militaries have different uniforms for desert, urban, jungle, etc.
Just because DICE screwed up and had to cobble together some armour markings because people complained about the shinies being the default on every map, they've now forced Lucasfilm to make completely unnecessary changes to well-established canon.

    INCOMING TRANSMISSION

The topic of Clone Trooper armour is one that we’ve seen a lot of feedback on across the last few months and back in December last year we mentioned that we were making some changes to the Clone Trooper appearance system.
We’ve heard a lot about authenticity when it comes to Clone Troopers and how they look, which is why we have been working closely with our friends at Lucasfilm to ensure that each legion is representative of how you would expect them to look.

One of the key goals for what we outline below is to bring you a lot more variety and choice to your Clone Trooper experience while retaining this authenticity.
    DEFAULT APPEARANCES

As part of this update, Clone Troopers will have a new default appearance. The frequently requested ‘shinies’ will now become the default look for all Clone Troopers.

For those wanting to use the previous planet specific default appearance, you will still be able to do so as they will now become free unlocks.

    pytx0fufevjo.jpg
    104th Phase 1

    PHASES

Another of the changes being implanted for this updated revolves around the different Phases of Clone Troopers.
We will be separating both the Phase I and Phase II Troopers and allowing you to use them as individual appearances as you desire. What this means is that should you prefer the Phase I version of a specific legion you will be able to use them regardless of the planet you are playing on.
    TROOPER VARIETY

Under the new system, Troopers will be visually different from one another, but all the time retaining the overall theme of their specific legion.

What this means is a Heavy will have different markings to a Specialist (and Assault, Officer…), but you will still be able to tell which legion they belong to.

    zsokkermdf35.jpg
    104th Phase 2

    ARMOURED OFFICERS

One of the more prominent bits of feedback we’ve received revolves around Clone Trooper Officers. Under the current Trooper system, Officers only have the naval uniform appearance as an option. Once the new system rolls out in the February update, Clone Trooper Officers will be able to equip armour the same way as Assault, Specialist, and Heavy Troopers.

The naval uniform is not going away, though. It will remain as a free unlock for anyone wishing to use it.
    LEGIONS

The changes being made also means that the number of potential Clone Trooper Legions being available to choose from will increase.
    • New Default "Shinies" (incl. Navigational Officer)
    • 501st Battalion
    • 327th Star Corps
    • 91st Recon Corps (w/ new helmet)
    • 104th Wolf Pack
    • 212th Attack Battalion
    • Coruscant Guard
    • 41st Elite Corps
    • 181st Armor Division
    • 87th Sentinel Corps
    • 41st Ranger Platoon
    EXCHANGE CRATES

With these changes, we will be implementing a system that will exchange the old Appearances for the Phase II version of the new Appearances. As part of this process, we will be removing the currently existing Appearances from the game.

What this means is that anyone that currently owns either, or multiple of the 104th, 212th, 41st, 327th or 91st Appearances will receive the updated versions via an in-game crate. Simply head to the crate menu once the update is live and you’ll find your new Appearances waiting for you.

    gapcffenin3b.jpg
    501st Phase 1

    APPEARANCE COSTS
With the inclusion of Officers getting armoured Appearances, the legion bundles will now cost 60,000 credits or 1,500 crystals. Legion bundles will contain all of the Phase II Appearances for a specific Legion.

Phase II Clone Trooper Appearances will be classified as rare and will cost 20,000 credits each, or 500 crystals.. The Phase I variants will be common and are priced at 5,000 credits each, or 150 crystals.

When this update arrives on February 27th we will be granting everyone the Chosen One Crate. This crate is intended to grant new players a ‘starter kit’ of Clone Trooper Appearances, along with some credits.
    • 41st Ranger Platoon (Phase I and II)
    • All 4 Phase I Appearances for the 41st, 91st, 104th, 212th, and 327th Legion.
    • 60,000 credits

The Chosen One Crate will be available from February 27th and will be available indefinitely.
    CORUSCANT GUARD

This division of elite troopers was designated to protect the capital of the Galactic Republic and are identified by the red markings across their armour.

They could often be found patrolling the streets of Coruscant while also had the responsibility of protecting buildings of high importance. As the war progressed, the Coruscant Guard would go on to find themselves serving as bodyguards for members of the Galactic Senate and even the Supreme Chancellor himself.

While a lot of their duties would see them assigned to Coruscant, they also went off-world, often accompanying the Jedi.

One such mission saw them accompanying Jedi Master Yoda to the coral moon of Rugosa for a secret meeting with the King of Toydaria. The small force found themselves up against Asajj Ventress, apprentice to Count Dooku and some of her best Battle Droids.

Through the leadership and guidance of Yoda, the Coruscant Guards were able to make their way towards the negotiation site, successful in their mission but Asajj Ventress did escape.
    501st BATTALION

“A great Jedi once told me that the best leaders lead by example.”Captain Rex

Perhaps the most well-renowned Clone trooper legion, the 501st Battalion led by Jedi General Anakin Skywalker and Captain CT-7567, more commonly known as Rex, fought across many of the biggest and most important battles of the Clone Wars. Though they had the same hearts and the same blood as all their brothers, their minds were sharpened by the diverse battlefronts they fought across.

    mw9xj8eynua0.jpg
    501st Phase 2

However, their Jedi General, Anakin Skywalker, was also a source of their creativity and skill. Being forced to follow along with the maverick warrior, the 501st learned to adapt, think outside of their training, and to do whatever it took to secure victory, though never at the cost of innocent people. It was with pairing Anakin’s untraditional tactics and Rex’s by-the-book strategies that they were able to grow into one of the greatest Clone legions the Grand Army of the Republic had to offer.

We can’t wait to see the new look Clone Troopers deploying onto the battlefront alongside the 501st and the Coruscant Guard. All of the above will be available once the Chosen One Update releases later this month on February 27th. We’ll be back shortly with all the details on Anakin Skywalker.

Outstanding work! Can't wait for the 27th! :sunglasses:

The only thing I'm not keen on is giving players the freedom to select either Phase I or Phase II armor types regardless of the battle.

You guys are updating the Star Card artwork and NPC models as well, right? And what about the Galactic Republic's Aerial Class Special Unit? Are we finally getting the standard all white Phase I and Phase II armored versions back?

I'd really like to know if you guys will finally be improving the Appearance customization for the other factions' classes, too. Such as adding the freedom to select genders, human heads/alien species and rank pauldrons where canonically appropriate.

Also, what about correcting the inaccuracies with some of the other visual models? Like
    • the BTL-B Y-wing's length and structural details
    • updating the Imperial Rocket Trooper to have their Star Wars Rebels Appearance
    • giving all the Trade Federation vehicles/ships their correct CIS paint schemes
    • adjusting all of the X-wings' flashback suppressors so they're aligned correctly
    • adding the T-47's missing Rebel harpoon gunner
    • replacing the V-wing's Phase I Clone Trooper as it's pilot model with the correct Clone Pilot model
    • adding the missing landing skids to the parked RZ-1 A-wings in the Main Story Mission The Dauntless
    • replacing the Sand Troopers in the Main Story Mission Cache Grab with Magma Troopers
    • update the Rocket Troopers in the Main Story Campaign so they look the same as they do in Multiplayer and Arcade
    • correct the position of the Lambda-class T-4a's wing mounted cannons when landed

Any info on these issues being addressed in the future?

People will always complain about something, I am happy they kept the old default skins instead of removing content which is something this game doesn't need, if you watch ROTS on Kashyyk the white with green markings troopers are mixed with the camo scout troopers (both are 41st)so taking them away as some of you suggested wasn't really wise. From the images you see pauldron and Kama's are not there, I think that confirms they are optional gear now. Mixed phases, well I won't say I like the idea very much, at least not on phase 1 exclusive maps, but I am not against more room for personalization, I know clones are supposed to look all the same, but we aren't. 91st with different helmet, tell me it's the BARC helmet and I will always love you. Nothing on helmetless troopers though, that's unfortunate, i'd have liked that, although it seems now the class distinction are helmets and the markings but shinies don't have them so only helmet(judging by the images) so I understand why they aren't an option. Finally, chill out people, stop complaining about canon, just be happy you got for once more content than what you can handle.
  • Why why WHY do people always have to complain about something?!

    Great work DICE! 😀

Admittedly I couldnt care much at this point about immersion, it fell apart from the off anyway. More skins I guess.

My annoyance with it is they made out like this was a major rework when all they have done is split phase 1 and 2 into seperate skins and changed a couple of colours. All of which were in the game anyway. Shouldnt really take them that long unless there arent many in the team, which we know

Technically, it can make sense. In the real world, it takes militaries many months to fully replace technology due to different factors - availability, acccessibility, etc. It's not unreasonable to assume that certain troopers got their Phase II before others.

Being in the military I can confirm. The army has been phasing out the acu/ digital uniform for the new ocp uniform we now wear. You could be seen in the old uniform as well as the new uniform we wear currently at one point, but now they're phased out completely.
  • I have started to give less s*it to whatever with the clones, i like i can play as any clone. In the beginning i was like, s*it it is going to be filled up with rainbows colors, but actually not! people often choose the skin for the map or are playing with friends and therefore creating a whole squad filled up with the same camo, which i love seeing. I think your guys are just paying to much attention to the clones instead of the battle around you, and again, it is a GAME
  • I love the thought of all types of clones running the same battle. It's like the war is dragging way too long. And the clones are bringing the closes asset from the closes planet and ships to hold back the quickly made droid army. Seeing it takes clones 10 years to get a fully developed trained ready to fight battalion. And not all of them can ship to one legion. And wounded has to be pulled off the front line.
In the cartoon they was always short handed and could barely hold a planet before losing it again. And many times legions had to work together just to get a small victory.

Keep it like you have Dice most people here haven't been in real conflict to understand things like 2nd armor brigade will fight side by side with British S. A. S. and 75th rangers with air cover from the Canadian air force with support from us navy and French infantry with C. I. A. Providing Intel.

See what I did there? Showed you Kandahar Afghanistan.
  • Another waste of resources.

So...the 91st recon squad is getting a new helmet...what about the 41st? Are they getting a new helmet like they have in ROTS on Kashyyyk?

I think someone mentioned Charlemagne (Dev or Community guy) said on discord they’d be getting the ROTS helmet. Or it was the 91st, I’m not sure, but I think they’re getting different helmets.

Nothing, They're nothing. They don't exist. Lucasfilm has just given DICE some official sounding names for the Naboo and Kashyyyk skins and have seemingly changed the name of the 41st Elite Corps, but since the multiplayer of this game isn't canon, these legions aren't either.

Things in MP are canon, it's just the way they're used that isn't canon (cross faction, battle outcomes etc.). So the 181st and the 87th will be canon when this update comes out.
    S4M wrote: »
the 181st and the 87th are probably the current planet locked skins (Naboo/Kashyyyk), while the 41st Ranger is probably the camouflage based on the name, while 41st Elite would be their grey markings if my theory is correct.

181st is the default ones from Naboo. 87th is the default ones from Kashyyyk. 41st is previous 41st with scout helmets.
  • Look EA or Dice ,, what ever.. Is it so hard for you to get it right?! Officers and ARC Troopers have kama. 327th Starcorps is the only legion where all of them have kama,,, yet that did not factor into your thought process. you say that Lucasfilm has been involved.. Well either they are so bad at their work or you guys either blatantly ignored the information from them. If you are so ignorant and Lucasfilm is useless I suggest you hired a person from the Costume club 501st Legion and have them supervise. Either that or you will feel this the hard way as in NO customers = No money!
