Troops vs heroes

Hey can we get some buffs to have something to defend ourselves against heroes and villains? Most of the time I run into them, I kind of just bend over and take it because there’s absolutely nothing I can do to defeat them or even just defend myself.

Already have vehicles and reinforcements and both have been recently fortified. If they reduce the hit box to a level closer to the way it was at launch it would also increase troopers survivability.

Other than getting passive HOK, heroes have always seemed fairly easy to take out in the big modes. Obviously getting a little help from your teammates helps and if you are the only one engaging the heroes it can be problematic.

Lots of players swear by the stinger pistol since heroes can’t recover health while losing health. Up to you if you want to go that route but it is an option if you have some teammates willing to get some shots in.
  • Yea I herd about the stinger pistol and it sounds pretty good. It’s for the specialist class, right?
I do wish the hit boxes were back to the way they used to be. Even against other troopers, I’ve had trouble of thinking I’m safe under cover only to be shot.
I feel like things with splash damage used to be really good against heroes/villains but all that got nuffed because hero players complained about it.
But yea, you’re right, tanks and team players would help a fight against a hero/villain

Correct. Stinger pistol is a Specialist option.

I have one more thing to add that lends to your point. The one thing about the game that I think can really drive players who almost always play as troopers nuts is the fact that there are CONSTANTLY heroes to contend with. This is coming from a guy who likes to play as heroes and who can fairly easily get enough points to get heroes in any given game.

Sometimes I don’t really want to play as a hero. I don’t even want to run around as a reinforcement or use a vehicle. And when I get in the mood to stay a trooper and disregard the other play options it feels like all I do is keep track of where heroes are and do my part to take them down. Obviously I do more than that (play the objective, take out vehicles and some other troopers) but the impact of heroes in the game is enormous so I can fully understand someone getting annoyed by that.

I really wish strike worked better or maybe extraction had more maps because I would love a spot in the game that I could periodically play as a trooper and not bother with heroes. Blast is a little too pointless for my taste so it simply doesn’t scratch that itch. The non-hero weekend event could be interesting but I am going out of town and will miss it so I am really looking forward to hearing what everyone has to say about it.

  • I feel you on that. Not that I don’t like playing as reinforcement or heroes, but I enjoy playing as troopers. I wish we had more game modes where heroes aren’t in.

Yea, strike and blast kind of get old and that’s probably because they get drowned out by other game modes. I wish there were a game mode that was more like Supremacy that didn’t have heroes/villains.

Or maybe, just have less of them per match. Maybe limit it to two heroes to a game.

I didn’t even know that there’s an even like that! I’m excited to see how that goes
