Explaination as to why I think the event is fun

I really enjoy GA as it is. However this event is so much fun. The sniper battles are awesome and having the whole first 5 mins of a normal GA game be extended to the whole game is heaps of fun and the game has a totally different feel without the heroes involved. Aside from the a little bit annoying reinforcements, the trooper combat is great and isn't interrupted by heroes or vehicles at all (other than at-rt for some reason?).

Also it separates the good players from the scrubby ones that we all knew were little officer/hero lords anyway haha. No more hiding your bad amount of kills behind your officer points and quick heroes hehe

Had to edit title to match/oppose another thread.

  • Except i get a lot of kills as Officer, boosting your team would never give you enough points to reach the hero first or even second. The Officer gets much hate because of its past, and because it's a class that can be put in a very good use especially by skilled players turning the tides of entire match. You also have to understand that this is a Star Wars game in which powerful force beings dominate the other non force sensitives. If you dislike it, go play Battlefield. This game without heroes is not Star Wars

It cracks me up when someone posts a thread and then someone disagrees with them so they post a thread that is exactly the opposite. I would have just thought to hammer it out in the first thread but I guess those competitive juices kick in for a lot of folks. Still kinda funny though.

Did you miss the bit where I said I like GA how it is also?

I used to main officer btw. So please don't preach to me whats the better class. You aren't the only one who has played officer as a main before. Assault and specialist (for sniping maps) are way more effective killers. Obviously both have their roles to play. But an officer's role is for support and on average their tactics require less overall direct enemy engagement to be effective in their role. So they experience less overall trooper vs trooper combat, which means they are not having to use their aim to the degree of which an assault or specialist has to over the course of a given game.

Maybe you are a good player. Maybe your not. I don't know. But there are many bad officer players that use the points to get a hero and then end up high on the scoreboard just because of that. I like this event because it is showing those people for actually having low eliminations.

You better watch yourself or I'll make an anti-thread about people who find people who make threads about other people's threads funny.

    Damn right.
  • Absolutely loving it (Im a Blast man anyway) Plus, the map shows enemies accurately for the first time as there are no friendly vehicles showing up as enemies.
