help for a noob.

im basically a solo player. i like bots and offline options and stuff i can just chill with by myself and so, have barely touched the MP of this. i played my first capital supremacy match today. its cool and all. i dig the over all "star wars-ness" of it all. the sounds lights etc. and it was fun. this isnt a rant or complaint. to be honest, in this instance the old "git gud" may be valid. i do have a question for yall. if im running around as a grunt, it feels like im just getting murdered. spawn, enter the meat grinder, kill what i assume is a bot, and die. i actually started getting kills on a few named players so yay. my question is, is it "normal" for the grunt types to get murdered so readily by the bigger guys and the hero types. its like if one of their heros pops out in front of me, im dead. normally. i did get a few lucky kills in but, its like a escort vs a ferrari. its fine if thats the way its supposed to be, it makes sence. i just want to know am i simply noob tastic, and indeed need to "git good" or, are the grunts basically cannon fodder?

cheers

  • It's all in the player. Short answer-yes grunts are often canon fodder to higher tier units. However, everything has a counter. If you play more, you'll be melting heroes and reinforcements with your base 4 trooper in no time. My advice would be stay with your squad as much as possible. 3 of the 4 classes have great tools for dealing with tiered units. Assault has Vanguard which murders heroes and reinforcements. Heavy has 2 anti vehicle tools and can melt heroes with sentry. Specialist the stinger pistol which melts heroes and disappear from radar. The officer is really the only class lacking significant tools however it has the Se44c which can destroy heroes and vehicles alike with rapid fire and has a health buff. I'd recommend starting out as an assault or heavy til you get the feel for it. Good luck
  • The standard 4 classes are basically just cannon fodder. They’re meant for when you have no other choice to play as anything else and lack the bp to do so. Not saying you can’t get kills against higher tiered units but you generally aren’t supposed to win in a straight up fight against them.
  • excellent. cheers for the response bud :)

What the others said for sure, other than that try 3rd person(if you haven`t) so you can peak around things without showing yourself too much and just simply play more and get used to the maps and the pvp.good luck.

I felt Battlefront 2015 was just that...........pretty to look at...spawn die........spawn die....to me it felt like there was no strategy there or something. I think there is definitely a learning curve for online play of any game. You are not alone in some of that thinking and some days I definitely feel like nothing but fodder.
