Lando's smoke does what exactly????

Does Lando's smoke grenade prevent saber lock-on?
For just him or for his team in the smoke?

Or does it just obscure view?

Whenever I play him I am a bit busy running around avoiding sabers, shooting and throwing stunners to really test out the smoke effects. Although I keep the smoke going constantly.

  • It does stop turrets from targeting you, at least it did. Not sure on that anymore because when I use Lando he's a sitting duck with his paltry damage. Unless you got sharpshot loaded up he's next to useless. Han is a better choice in most if not all cases.

    Lightsabers don't lock on you when you're in the smoke. So you have better dodges and it's harder to hit you. Usefull.
    However i don't know if it applies on teammates.

    That is what I am wondering. It would be easy to test for Lando himself with split screen. But for allies I don't know how.

    I play Lando, because he is cool and different. He has the most skins, which is odd since he is so nerfed.
  • It used to make turrets not be able to shoot you, including Phasma's one (but doesn't block the stun from her droid). Not sure if it still works though.

    The saber lock AFAIK never worked, but even if it does, I don't think that makes any difference as saber lock is something that's useful against fast characters, not sitting ducks like Lando.

    And the vision restriction is laughable.

  • Whatever his smoke actually does, this is what it should do:
    • Appear twice as thick to the enemy as it does to Lando and his allies
    • Remove Lando from the enemy radar and maybe even his team mates in the smoke
    • Prevent saber and gun lock on for both Lando and his team

    it stops enemy saber and turret lock on for all allies inside it, it also stops red name indicator of enemy above your teams head sometimes in the center of it.
    Tactical, competitive 4v4 saber wielding, block holding,dashing only;God!
    When I'm not competition asf in PUGS then i'm being a trooper only gamer; because non-troopers are for fluoride toothpaste using, vaccinated neeewwwbs! I only drink the coldest of non-regular Mountain dew. Someone pass me a cold code red.

    My suggestion would be to make Lando's smoke cloud larger in size and longer in duration WITHOUT STAR CARDS. Then potentially consider making the smoke cloud a gas cloud that does stinger like damage to enemies that enter it. It damages the enemy and sticks to them for a little bit once they leave the cloud.



    Smoke is really only slightly useful to put a delay on Kylo's frenzy and Grievous' thrust surge now. Again because of terrible game updates and lack of balancing by the Hero designer. They have intentionally and also unintentionally nerfed many blaster heroes into the ground. Originally in the first year the game was out they updated lando's smoke to deactivate lock-on abilities, which was more helpful then because once a sith lord used an ability whether it hit or not........the ability would go on a long cool down. Giving Lando's smoke more of a point because if they didn't hit him the ability couldn't be used again for a while. Now with the last update or two if you use the ability and miss you can use it again right away. Making the smoke even more pointless. Also at the time Lando had a longer shock grenade, so if the sith lord missed then lando could easily finish them off.

    Now because so many BABIES complained about Lando shock grenade being too long. You have a lando that is more of a reinforcement character than a hero character. To top it off now the force powers are all chained one after the other throwing you around the map all day long and taking your health shock's use to put a small damper on that. Shock's generally can't stop a lot of the force users too because of immunity and blocking speeds and the like. Some shock's are blockable and others are not like chewy's. They could have at least kept duration long for lando's, chewy's, phasma's and Iden's shock and instead incorporated a mini-game(like vader's choke at launch) to break free from it earlier. That way Lando might have a better chance at finishing anyone off. I mean especially now that they gave force users immunity and increased blocking stamina, and fixed some abilities that were constantly buggy, and auto refreshed the ability if it missed or didn't land on time.

    No idea what Hero Designer is thinking anymore.....most of his ideas are pointless or terrible at this point. He also overly focuses on lightsaber characters now. A lot of the blaster heroes need more improvements to even be considered hero anymore. Especially now that they have Arc Troopers and Clone commandos in the game. I'd rather play reinforcements than blaster heroes in CS and GA. You can get more kills easily with them than a blaster hero.

  • It's only useful if I want to runaway and not show people where I'm going. Other than that it is useless
  • Lando's sharpshooter aimbot needs attention. It should be like the other abilities now. It should only be able to fire when it hits an enemy just like chain lightning. Right now it is very easy and common to miss as it can be blocked by just about anything in the way.

    Since Lando is hanging around cover, it is very common for enemies to be missed in the split second it takes to press the button. If you don't hit anything, it should either instantly refresh or refresh in one second.

    Lando's shocking disc needs to be un-nerfed. It is just another case of nerfing blaster heroes while simultaneously buffing saber heroes.

    Making all current heroes viable and competitive, will only improve variety and the game overall.

    I sometimes lob it far off in some random direction for that very reason...

    It really does need this just like it has been added for other abilities. If it is good for the goose, it is good for the gander.

    It is funny that some people are so against buffing Lando' s sharp shooter. It misses often AND Lando is currently a bottom tier hero.

    Even with my recommended buffs, I do not think the top tier saber heroes would be in any danger of being dethroned.

    jokes aside its a useless ability, and doesnt fit his playstyle at all. Should be replaced with something else!

  • I too use the smoke as more of a distraction, trying to fool people into thinking "hey, Lando's over there", but they rarely take the bait thanks to me being that BIG RED CIRCLE on your radar (when his trap isn't down).

    Another perfect design decision by DICE. It honestly made HvV even worse then just because it was turned into a boring and simplistic Hero Blast mode.

  • The are many reasons HVV gets old fast. Lack of variety in heroes chosen does not help.

  • Need a buff. Smoke grenade should slow down enemies like specialist grenade, and add some other effect..
    Maybe damage enemies like Bossk but lower, or put in cooldown enemy abilities until they are in the smoke

    it blocks Phasma's droid from locking on.
