Balance by proportion not by arbitrary player gap

This seems like an obvious point but a problem with the game's matchmaking is it makes no distinction about disproportionate team gaps. In other words a 12v11 is acceptable and a 3v2 is also acceptable because both are only one off. But this is silly because in 3v2 one team is 50% bigger than the other, and in 12v11 it's only a 9% difference.

I have played Strike/Extraction games which started at 2v1, which is not only ridiculous from a gameplay perspective (the player floor has been lowered far below acceptable minimums) but it makes the game unwinnable for one side...might as well let everyone wait in the lobby for more people to join. (Leaving aside that lobbies frequently get "stuck" and stop getting new players, forcing people to bail from them.)

Matchmaking should look at the proportionate difference, not just the arbitrary two player gap, and arguably should also weight this by whether the team is attacking or defending. (Attackers are at a greater disadvantage if the gap disfavors them.)

This issue won't be noticed as much by people who stick to the large modes.

  • Absolutely agree, this is *literally* an instance for the insightful button (no sarcasm).

It's the ratio that is impactful.

Same is true when a lobby is made up of several premades or one Large premade in one faction and all randoms in the other...game doesn't differentiate and lobbies suffer because one team is much more coordinated than the other...HvV sucks for this reason.

Anyone who has joined an HvV lobby with a full opposing team and they are the only one waiting on their side knows they are in for a stomping...last team of randos quit cuz a squad of 4 wrecked them. Now you're waiting for 3 more to join you randomly and get slaughtered.

This game needs to match lobbies waaay better than it does now. I don't care how Dice does it, but they need to address it.

HvV is a bit more o f a stretch. it's only 4 people. If you play this game enough to care about facing premades then you play enough to have 3 friends in the game. otherwise it's a mute point. GA yeah premades rule but what legitimate options do we have against this? Before you answer consider this...if your solution negatively affects somebody wanting to play with their friends ( a premade group) then it's a bad answer. We aren't gonna ruin multiple others' freedoms and entertainment just because you're getting beat up in a video game.

The obvious answer here is either pitting them against other premades (ideally, if possible) or putting them into struggling teams.
