Both Finn and Phasma rely too heavily on single abilities

Phasma is solely reliant on her droid otherwise she’d just be a blaster reinforcement that takes forever to overheat.
Finn is a support character who’s only crutch is his aim bot.
Both of these characters deserve better, just like boba with his rocket barrages basically being the only worthwhile ability. What do you all think about one ability hero’s?

  • Theres plenty of characters in the game with only one worthwhile ability. Just the way its gotta be.

If you mean that these characters don't have ability combos like some of the others, sure, but I still find all the abilities of Phasma, Finn and Leia useful to varying degrees, with Phasma's being the most.

Phasma's staff strikes is quite useful in HvV. I use it all the time and it often saves me, as does her health buff.

Finn's secondary weapon is also pretty good. And, if your teammates stay with you (or you with them), Big Deal can be just that. I've seen it change GA games around.

And, when it works, Leia's E-11 just melts villains. Pretty sure it has the fastest time to kill in the game, but that's like a tested-in-the-lab thing. Reality is different. And, in HvV her shield can be a surprisingly good defense to blaster villains (especially Boba players) but these are all pretty weak defenses of Leia. She needs love from the devs.

  • No, Phasma relies more on two abilities, Survivor since it gives like 60% damage reduction, and yeah the droid. Finn easily is a God tier hero because of Big deal, and Deadeye is now pretty much a deterrent to people like Palps and Boba. Undercover team is okay if you can get a few kills with it so you have consistent damage reduction, and staff strikes are still pretty bad. Buff Leia though, she’s garbage.

    That Specialist rework was disappointing.

Finn: Agree. But I never use him outside of when I forget to select a hero in HvV lol so I wont add anything beyond that.

Phasma: I think she has finally found her balance, years later. Underwhelming in comparison to other heroes, yah, but deadly in certain situations. Her droid is a necessary evil, but I would have preferred a different ability all together.

Dear Camping Captain Phasmas... You gotta get in there! Your health buff has your back, so quit hiding in your droid, pick it up more often (since you can now, hallelujah!) and throw yourself in the middle of the action! Did I mention you can pick up your droid now???

Also... I forego the droid lots of times, or wait till the last minute. It's best to surprise the target (drop it mid combat) closer to the end of their HP as a means of finishing them off (stops them from running at crucial moments, or ensures your last shot/staff) or as your last resort to survive.

And don't forget to just have fun every now and then. Fast eliminations, cool... make it memorable!

A majority of the time I see her is in HvV camping a corner with her team, this seems to be the favored tactic with Phasma over all else. It is definitely annoying but I can understand because Iden is similar but much more mobile.

Zap squad, as we like to call it lol. Phasma/Iden is our favorite combo for HS <3 Also why I want Phasma to have a helmet'less appearance. Bad @$$ beauties on the battlefront.

Sigh... she's still fun though, shes just shines better in specific situations: protects the team from boba, great souped up officer for trooper modes, and a deadly flank...

Phasma's blaster has such low damage it's really annoying. If it weren't for the higher heat threshold she wouldn't win any blaster duels. Her droid is decent, but only in tight spaces. Gets owned by reinforcements and saber heroes. She's only really good for camping. Even staying behind and trying to pick people off is pointless because it takes forever for her blaster to be accurate. By the time the spread comes back into line, any worthwhile player has rolled out the way and found cover. Iden is maybe a little better.

Finn at least has big deal and aimbot, but unless your team stays with you or you stay with them, he's done in less than 2 seconds when a saber comes his way.

  • Phasma is most useful in HvV when the rest of her team have the sense to stick close to her and her droid. A whole dark side team camping around that way is pretty tough to beat.
But of course, when I play Phasma I am always saddled with lemons who run off to the other side of the map. There's only so long she can hold out in a 4 v 1 scenario.

    Ha ha, so true.

When I play Phasma, I stay as mobile as possible and try and stick with my team if the other three are together(ish), but invariably a Kylo Ren or Maul, and for some reason it's always those two, go off to show the world how amazing they are, and I'm stuck in a 3 v 1 situation getting rag dolled away from and then back to and then away from again my droid by Anakin, Luke and Obi Wan while Kylo, Maul and Vader are chasing the lone blaster hero.

Tap and let go of aim down sight before shooting and you get instant max accuracy with her weapon. ADS on her drastically speeds up how long it takes to tighten the accuracy compared to hip fire.
  • I've never played Phasma before but I do occasionally play Finn when defending an objective and when I'm buffing 15+ team members health each time I don't need to get kills (with my aim...not a problem). Since I don't use any deadly aim cards (only Big Deal) it's really used mostly as a deterrent to stay away cause without them it's quite weak.

Ya, I get "Mauled" (haha...I crack myself up) quite badly if I'm left alone without a team around me and I will get insta-killed so I'm picky with the situation when I use him.

That’s not true, she can deploy a shield to help Palpatine kill her and her pitiful little band of friends.

None can defeat the “one-being army that is Darth Maul”. (Cackling)
  • Playing Phasma with her bot is cool but you have to watch out for Luke and Anikin either pulling or pushing you out of its area of protection...

The trick is to deploy near a wall, so you can't be pushed away. Mos Eisley has some very good locations where it's almost impossible to get Phasma out of, if she's careful.
