It's time to nerf the AT-ST

It is the most powerful vehicle by far. His main weapon is so precise, deadly and with splash damages. He can run and chase every unit in the game with easy.
His health and resistance its ok, what should be nerfed is the precision and the damage of his main weapon, (especially vs heroes that are helpless against this type of vehicle) maybe his speed too.

How I can say this? Not because I'm killed from them and so I want a nerf but because when I play as them (rarely) I can wreck enemies with too much easy.
I try explain better the point to don't be misurandesranded:

I know they can be destroyed with easy with the right combinations, but my main issue with them is that they can go through enemies in a kamikaze mode too easily. I do the same some times, I charge the enemy team in their defending position, i clear the area from all of them (heroes included) with easy, frequently dying in the process but opening the crucial point to my team. This can be viewed as a tactic and it is, but it is too effective this is what I mean. With an AAT or a TX 130 you can't do this, indeed I have no problems with them.

  • Before lore arguments "it's at-st it should be strong" roll in, I'd like to point out that 2 people were needed to operate it. You want it to be op? Update the controls so the ease of use can go up from "brain dead" to "what's this button do?"

  • I think its fun to play with and I don't really mind playing against it. I really hope it doesn't get nerfed.
  • Only problem with them is on maps such as Tatooine when they can spawncamp and the infantry is pretty helpless against it unless you have 2-3 heavies working together to take one out (But they can have 2 at any given time), but on that map they're something like 800 so if they cost 2500 or 3000 then it would be fine, alternately they could take more damage from Ion but have higher blaster resistance?

    The AT-ST is fine, only 2 things need to happen.

    1. Fix Rocket so it doesn’t one shot heroes.
    2. Increase cost to 2000

    I agree. It’s ridiculously easy to counter with both Specialist, Heavy, and not to mention the Ovissian gunner.

    I would say a big no, the problem is not in itself the AT-ST but the fact that the majority of players do not want to use weapons and ionic equipment; I can assure you that with only 3 players / 20 with ion torpedo, the AT-SDTs leave very easily; I also think that an ion grenade buff would be a good thing as well as being able to activate / deactivate your ionic fire. This would solve the problem quite easily

    Agreed. You only need about three people out of the twenty on your team to go and pick up a Ion Distruptor Specialist, A Heavy with Ion torpedo and Turret, or even an Assault with Ion grenade. At-ST’s are only a problem if you let them be a problem.

    For some this is apparently very difficult to understand and why they should remain in the hero only modes instead of attempting to dumb down the more competitive and larger modes where smarter players understand how to counter vehicles.

    More competitive as to where players have to contend with all items of the game, troopers, reinforcements, vehicles and heroes and not just one or two items. Not saying HvV isn't competitive any more than saying Extraction isn't competitive. Both modes are competitive but it's a little easier when you only have to counter one specific threat instead of several. Understood?
    There are some great hero mains and those are the ones that understand you can't run up to an armored vehicle and just start slashing away or use hero abilities as you can with troopers and reinforcements. The smarter saber hero players will let their teammates negate any armored threats. Besides vehicle play is limited in the larger modes as most battles end in a room where there are no vehicles.

    No what I'm saying is the game is casual is all. Most games are steamrolls = non competitive

    this game wont be competitive until it has a system to properly balance teams and unbalanced teams are far worse in GA then in HvV its a bit easier to carry 3 **** instead of 19.

  • Seriously? It should be powerful. The only thing they could do for Jedi balance wise is let them Force push the AT-ST projectiles. Besides, AT-STs are easy to take out with a knowledgeable heavy or recon with an anti-tank setup. I do it all of the time. Also, nothing beats a good blaster. Han and Fin do really well vs AT-STs. Other blaster heroes can do well also, but they need to hit it a lot more. Just stay away from it's dangerous end, flank a lot, and shoot the weak spots. As for Jedi versus AT-STs don't swing your glow sticks in an open field. That's just asking for an AT-ST to hone in on you. Play smarter not harder.
  • 1 skilled heavy with ion torpedo and the turret enabled can take down and AT-ST.
    2 decent heavies with ion torpedo and the turret enabled can very easily take one down.

    Also, the AT-ST in its present form is absolutely needed to break the siege on various GA levels: Jakku, Takodana, Crait, etc.

    No nerf is needed.

  • People calling for increased tank costs are wrong. Why? Because they fail to take into account demand.

    Heroes are much more desirable than tanks, and much more difficult for troopers to destroy. If a tank is priced at more than half what a hero is, most players will simply wait for the extra BP and camp the menu. Tanks need to be priced accordingly.

    Speaking as a part-time anti-tank heavy who delights in wrecking AT-STs by the dozens, I can safely say that the AT-ST is fine in both price and power.

    The real problem is killstreak-obsessed veteran players who refuse to forgo their turn as a hero and do what needs to be done to help their team win the game.

    menu camping is a whole other issue that needs to be addressed and I think tanks should be 2k no higher no lower I dont care if you can kill me you wont do it before I can farm enough points to get another one cause they are so cheap.
