Typical DICE nerf. Totally useless now. Nobody is using her anymore. Oh well, I am getting really good at using the Spy trying to counter Sith Troopers. Still, Sith Troopers are too powerful for the Spy anyway. Spy is simply no match for the deadly Sith Trooper in open space.

Spy units lack mobility and speed compared to sith troopers, his Scan dart is a joke, too limited in range and duration is too short, and his little stick(right ability) is way less powerful than the ninja droid katana. Rapid Fire is limited too, you can only kill targets when they are stationary, as soon as they start moving, you can't aim at them anymore.

Just for the record, there is NO need to nerf the sith trooper, just tweak the Ovissian gun delay or make Spy's rapid fire less limited in movement or give him some extra health.

Agreed, that sounds reasonable. I'm also trying to master the spy as well. I just hate how they nerfed this unit, I never found it op like everyone else it was a threat but. Imo, a pre nerf Wookie was worst than it.
  • The gunner is okay at close or medium range but I hate how long it takes to shoot a person.
  • I didn’t get to play her until after the nerfs. Definitely underwhelming now, 2nd weakest reinforcement now after the Droidekas.
  • Of the many things that have needed nerfs in battlefront....the ovissian was among the most warranted and now people are complaining
  • I agree. While I do think her damage needed to be toned down a bit, everything else (health, time to fire and movement speed while firing) just seemed so unnecessary to change.

Pretty certain people only wanted her damage to be tweeked, least thats the only complaints I saw regarding the gunner. If they just changed the damage then it wouldn't have been an issue, but the other changes I mentioned above is why people are complaining. The changes to her health, time to fire and movement speed while firing was unnecessary.

If you know how to play Reptie these changes will hardly affect you, it's up to you to do what is needed

Reptie admittedly was a crutch in her previous state, adjust your gameplay, learn how to play her

Stop blaming the developers for your own defeats. You'll never improve otherwise

  • Seems their most beloved toy has been taken away from them. Guys use them when it counts, on AT-STs for example. There are plenty other weapons in the game to crack open choke points. If spray and pray is all you can do to hit someone, then i'd be mad too.

Fair points. To be honest the only thing I'd what them to change back is probably her movement speed while firing. Everything else I can live with

Well she is firing a really, really, big laser cannon. I think its fair that she would move slow when firing it though maybe a slight movement speed change could be in order

I see your point, but I thought the gunner was meant to be a buff/strong alien? Hence why she would be able to carry the gun with a bit more ease than other troopers.

  • I think the Ovissian Gunner is still usable despite the nerf. The difference between now and then is that you got to be well positioned with firing, much like the Heavy class.

The health nerf to her and the Death Trooper recently was quite unnecessary, I'll give you that
Man! Could this game get any more broken?
  • She is not trash still the strongest reinforcement in st. I use her only in the shipe phase to destroy the reactor

No, the Wookie warrior needs a buff to be as strong as a Death Trooper.

The WW was overnerfed. I agree.

Yeah she's big so she would be able to run with that thing.

You obviously have no idea what you're talking about, hence you are NOT really a heavy/ovissian player. I can personally dominate troopers with a heavy class by playing ultra offensive from A to Z. Ovissian gunner after nerfs is now is a strictly defensive character, not worth to waste 2000BP on her.

From out group We are all switching to Spy or rocket trooper for reinforcements which are more viable alternatives against deadly sith troopers. Until we get really good at using the Spy and people would start asking for another nerf.
  • Ok, so I've been playing the gunner a fair bit. I've managed to get use to the time to fire now, pretty much just keep the gun rotating when you know people are near and its not too bad. I still think however that she should be able to move quicker while the gun is rotating/ firing. Here are my suggested tweeks:
Increase her movement speed, either back to how it was or something inbetween. Increase her base health to 330/340. Her damage is fine as it is I think. If they're not going to change her movement speed, then I suggest this:
Decrease her BP cost to 1500 or 1750. Increase her base health to 350.
    What do you guys think?

Yes, they should reduce the cost of her

The Ovissian Gunner "Strictly defensive" is no problem to me. You can't just force all characters to have a single run and gun playstyle - even the heavy class also was not designed to run & gun, considering its abilities, like the assault class with Vanguard.

You have be positioned well to do well it with (no pun intended). The heavy class description also states that you have to be well positioned to take on multiple opponents (when in sentry mode). I see no problem with much that change in playstlye, though I'd wish they hadn't tweaked the gun's spool up time and her health nerf (ah, but in doing do, at least they buffed SCS for the heavy class significantly, as a compensation maybe?)

Man! Could this game get any more broken?
