To Be, Or Not To Be,

That is the question. Were I to go on and type the lines following this famous quote from Hamlet by William Shakespeare in context, it would read like this:
Whether 'tis Nobler in the mind to suffer
The Slings and Arrows of outrageous Fortune,
Or to take Arms against a Sea of troubles,
And by opposing end them: to die, to sleep
No more; and by a sleep, to say we end
The Heart-ache, and the thousand Natural shocks
That Flesh is heir to? 'Tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wished. To die, to sleep,
To sleep, perchance to Dream; aye, there's the rub,
For in that sleep of death, what dreams may come,
When we have shuffled off this mortal coil,
Must give us pause.

Fascinating how one can take those words and see how true, how relevant they are in the world of virtual games. No matter which game it is, all must die and when we do each time, we pause and reflect in the manner our virtual coil ended. Forums allow us to share our experiences from which those who created said game must ask which is nobler: to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, or take to arms against a sea of troubles. Either way, as well all know, its all about the bottom line for EA. Or is it?

Based on my own virtual experience, the answer is no. EA must not be that serious to make more money off this game. By their own admission, EA is content with whatever money we are forking over to them. How could any investor be content with that?!? [They're not]. Investors expect more and when they get wind of the fact that those in charge are not interested in fattening their bottom line, heads roll.

Battlefront should be doing just that for them. It is not and to state that it will after the movie debuts is folly. No disrespect intended. The game must stand on its own merit much like the film will need to itself. When the honeymoon period is over, fans will let their views known whether J.J. Abrams messed it up much like he had with Star Trek. To his credit, he didn't want it at first because he feared that he would mess it up. Can EA say, have DICE said the same thing when it comes to this game? Did or do they even fear the possibility of messing Battlefront up? To hide behind the reboot argument is disingenuous if not cowardly. Words mean things after all.

And there lies in the clue: words. Who thought it was wise to name this game Battlefront knowing it is no where near the likes of those originals? Were it given a more suitable name this forum would not be flooded with posts comparing the two. The game would stand on its own [boot]. Yet, that one word, a name, could very well ruin it. Time will tell, but as any investor will tell you, time is money and at this critical juncture it is in EA's best interest to remedy while it can.

The game is in fact good. It stands to get better like aged wine. But just like it starts with a grape, it all starts with a name, or two? In a previous post I mentioned Empire Assault, or EA for short. I would have still bought this game on that basis. It would not have troubled me anymore than those who would post about how life imitates art; how Electronic Arts are rather villainy towards their customers with their cash grab ways and all. lol

That would have been fair to compare. But then came another pair of words which EA is most incline to choose: Battlefront Extreme, or BE for short. Hence, the title of my thread: To BE or not to BE. It could also be marketed as BE all you can BE [an old army slogan] which our U.S. Army wouldn't mind having such a patriotic link return with the game. I believe my fellow gamers wouldn't mind either as they might like to refer to themselves as BElievers. Think of all the merchandise EA could make here...

Like it or not, in my humble opinion, that name change is the first of three major hurdles for EA/ DICE to re-boot this stand alone game while it still can. It would be nice for them to take my words into consideration. The community will be rather forgiving if and when they do.

Thank you.

    That is very good reading, and a good post!
    I think it was Disney who though that the Battlefront name should have been reused.
    Tho, the reason this game has so many problems, is because of EA's game development and marketing strategy ideas.
    Their DLC's(4=$50) combined with a game($60) that has only a few content to play, plus online sever problems and the lack of proper offline single-player. This game was made poorly, and is suffering for it badly. I blame EA for there so-called bright idea's!
    I just don't understand why EA hasn't studied what the general gaming community wanted this game to have. Instead of them making decisions for us, they should let us make some of the decisions on how the game would best suit the gaming community.
    We can only hope EA will understand and support their gamer customers.
    PS: I don't mean every idea the customer/gamer makes is right, but some of the idea's are important to consider.

  • @XeTron Thanks! Don't know what the other guy's beef is, so not much for me to reply to. However, yours is something a lot of members here have (and rightfully so) expressed their fair share of disappointment towards this game because of that very name alone. Instead of seeing more of the same with better graphics and some new TFA content, true fans of Battlefront saw some other hybrid at work. For this reason as well as others, a lot of them feel cheated. Can't say I blame them. And I simply wrote from my own perspective how EA (and Disney, I suppose) dropped the ball big time on that name alone to counter the ever popular belief that EA falsely advertised this game as the next Battlefront.

    Now, I'd like to think that EA [and Disney] did not intentionally mislead the true fans of Battlefront. I think they had assumed that those same fans have grown to play the latest genre of FPS and in so doing based on their spending habits would like the next Battlefront to be along those same lines (i.e., an online FPS game, which it is). It never occurred to them that all that data they were banking on could possibly be wrong. Like how could it?

    Well, it happens to everyone and they don't need to feel defensive about it. What's been done has been done and no one can go back in time to undo them. The best they can do is remedy the matter to the best of their ability while they can. Giving it a more suitable name would be the first step in the right direction. And no, I'm not being naive here!

    To the contrary, I'm being honest with my thoughts. I'm very aware of EA's reputation as well as others who finance the latest games these days. I haven't bought any of those titles since DRM was introduced in 2008. It's been quite disappointing to not buy because of that intrusive technology. Not just that, but once they transitioned well known titles as a downloadable over disc and/or micro-transact whatever edge to win a game, PC gaming was pretty much done for in my book; Game consoles would be the way to go, and thanks to EA, I finally got one.

    So while some/ most are upset for paying a $60 game that's lacking, just remember how some of us paid some $600 and counting to try this game out. rofl

    Yea! The DRM has gotten really bad ever since they introduced it in 2008. And it doesn't do much of anything, but make gaming hard for gamers to enjoy! It doesn't even stop Video game Pirate's! And Video game cheaters/hackers!
    Now they are switching to cloud gaming! Which make's matters worse! Now if we want a game, We have to go through Steam, Origin, and many other online gaming services.
    Also the gaming industry problem's continue to grow every year! With new bad idea's!
    Like there new idea of trashing offline single-player gaming! And forcing us to buy cutup DLC's for a premium, just so we can have a little content for our games. And their Micro-transactioning and there "Free to Play"="Pay to Win" games are hurting the gaming community badly! Every time I get on to one of those Free to play game's, I see so much imbalance, as low level or less experienced players get's creamed every time!
    And now the game Developers an Publishers are cutting the overall content in games just to make more profit is just ridiculous.
    The era of video gaming is going down the toilet! And soon to be flushed for ever!

    Edit: And don't forget the Developers support for Console systems! I mean, we never get PC optimized games anymore! Most games are console ports that doesn't work well on PC, just like Battlefront!

  • @XeTron Right you are! I so wanted to go on and on with that, but banked on others to do it instead. I couldn't help but chuckled after I posted my reply how it appeared like a cutup DLC! Like how EAish of me to do with my own thread as a free DLP (so to speak)! rofl :p Yes, its free to read. I can't make any money off of this whatsoever. But EA can whenever I buy any one of their new games.

    The funny thing about that fact in which I finally got a console: I almost did not go through with it in order to buy Battlefront. I normally hold out until the reviews are in and the price drops. I read everything I could to see what this game would be like and it was 50/50. None of their marketing and hype swayed me. I was already comforted with the knowledge how this game as well as the film coincides with my birthday and my late mother's birthday respectively. Either one or both could have been done last year or next year, or the year after that. But ever since they announced those two dates (i.e., November 17th and December 18th), it brought a warm smile to my face. Just what are the odds really? To have something like those two events happen in the same year for a long time Star Wars fan like myself? Unreal. I know I did not wished upon a star for that to happen to me. I'm nothing special. Just an ordinary Joe like you all.

    And, as if that wasn't enough, like yeah, it was meant to be and all, Microsoft releases the Xbox One Elite console early November. They could not have known of course. None of them could. Its just business as usual for them. I could have bought the PS4 limited edition instead but since I'm a Halo fan, XB1 won me over hands down. Maybe I'll get a PS4 down the road. Maybe. I saw it in that Game Stop store. Probably sold out by now. Those elite consoles were selling fast at the time. I was fortunate to find one available. It's been a smooth experience since that fateful day.

    Can't say the same for this game. I do believe Abrams did a respectful work with the Star Wars franchise as a director. I won't be watching it since I have my beef with Disney much like some have theirs with EA. I don't want to contribute my dollars to what may be a record breaking day. Ironic, isn't it? Like shouldn't it be the other way around? Disney has a better reputation. So? Who says EA can't better theirs? I'd like to think they are willing to be more Disney-like than Disney itself. You think that Game Stop comment was something? Wait till EA drops one later when their game sales tank.

    All of which can be averted if they simply start making amends. There are two more things they need to do which I have not revealed. Thanks again, XeTron, for your input! Most welcomed indeed, Friend. B)

  • Hmm, I was hoping to edit my last post, but this forum does not allow that. Oh well, in lieu of what I had written last [about Disney] I came across this shocking interview: https://www.yahoo.com/tv/quentin-tarantino-goes-ballistic-disney-175500069.html

    Talk about timing. That's Iger for you. And make no mistake about it, he can sit back, count his money, and easily throw EA under the boss to cover his own errors in judgment. I don't know if demoting Moore has led to the recent heads up from Dice. But, the tremendous replies from many about them listening is a clear demonstration of how important it is to hear from them in the first place. Some gamers are skeptical, yes, considering how it's been said before and all with other game titles. But with the second post regarding the improvements they have made in their matchmaking system today, it sure looks like a turning point is happening before our very eyes.

    I hope so. I really do. If only the skeptic in me could because words are not enough. The community wants real results as do I. Matchmaking is one issue that needed to be addressed for some time. Too early to say how exactly they tweaked that. Until then, I'll continue with my original intent.

    The first one was about the name. Done. Point made.

    The other two largely deal with certain parameters that need tweaking of their own. Let's start with what needs to be really nerfed in this game.

    I have not to this day upgraded any of the unlockables. Doesn't make sense to knowing that the Devs will at some point nerf it in order to maintain balance. Well, how about securing the borders for a change? Build those walls and stop the illegal activity going on. Same goes with those hero and vehicle pickups. It was a novel idea, but does not promote/ insure game balance. Quite the opposite has occurred. The server has enough on its plate tracking various interactions. Issuing some countdown timer along with random dialogue instructing the player to get out is a waste of code. Granted, glitches happen and naturally are patched ASAP. But that parameter was unnecessary to begin with. Best to program the server to kill off any player who steps out of line so as to maintain the integrity of the game at optimum performance; Better to trade those lines of dialogue for the hero/ vehicle pickups as well.

    Removing those pickups and simply letting the game randomly choose who can operate said vehicle and who can be a hero is the way to go. No need to base it on player's performance or lack thereof. If it's about having fun, then make it fun and create a routine that replaces the player calling in to the player being escorted away. I would rather hear those lines of dialogue honoring the player to contribute than barking at the player for wandering off. The only distinction would be how the player is ordered to serve for the Imperial side, while the player is offered to serve by the Rebel Alliance. Furthermore, I would rather see a player surrounded by 2 or 4 honor guards [bots] escorting him/ her away than some enemy camping far, far away sniping the guy/ gal for picking one up as soon as they are on bended knee. And just to drive home the point how important it is to be chosen, the player is automatically [squad] shielded. Any enemy player who takes a cheap shot will have one rude awakening as their damage shot will backfire. ;)

    Once the player operates the vehicle, or transforms into a hero, limit the duration based on a certain number of kills. That way the next player may have their chance at it. That Hero Hunt mode needs something like this. Each one who participates has a chance to be hunted. Meaning all eight players will have their chance during those eight rounds. How hard could that possibly be for the Devs to correct?

    So build up the walls and remove the pickups. Doing those will be another step in the right direction. o:)

  • If there's one take away I've gotten with creating this thread is the fact how the view count is higher than the actual replies. Not bad for an Off-Topic forum category. That's a huge victory in my book. Had I created it in the General Discussions, it would have been either buried by another series of repetitive topics as well as misplaced topics, or bumped down by the community's need to bombard the recent topic of interest (i.e., We're Here and Listening) by our Community Manager.

    Instead, I've been able to quietly jot down my thoughts in quick succession these past several days. There's no doubt that if any of the Heads and Devs from EA/ DICE replied favorably, those same members would bombard mine hoping they'll be listened to FWIW. I'm glad they have not because I would like for replies to be on message only. And unto those who would like to point out how other posters have a better view count to reply ratio, I will state this: It's not about the quantity; It's about the quality that matters. If the Heads and Devs have read it, that's all well and good. Can't tell if they have and that's fine. Only way to know is for them to reply or to act on any one of these suggestions.

    Take the name. Not hard to nestle it under the name Battlefront in smaller text. The border and power-up ideas will take more time to code. And the third idea... is something I have not delve yet. That too would take some time since it has to do with the reward system. If I were to suggest how awesome it would be to add an AT-AT Driver unlock at Rank 30 so I/ we can appear as one, they could do that while naturally adding an X-Wing Pilot unlock for the Rebel side. I liked how they added the Salute emote. Would be nice to compliment the driver/ pilot idea with a Truck Driver emote steering, then honking the horn and saying ten-four. What a blast that would be to see that from a lot of players. For now, I can only scream as I begin another crazy round of some current game mode. roflmbo

    So thanks for viewing what I've written thus far and on this occasion, I'd like to give a shout out to my dear late mother,
    Happy Birthday Mom!

    All I know is EA/DICE works hard on their products, and they have a good fan base community as well. I just hope they hear our opinions and ideas and strongly consider them as much as possible, In order to help make things better for them and us as gamers.
    Video games should not be used for making profit! But they should be used to give great fun an joy for every one who really enjoys video games.

  • That's okay. Thanks for replying though.

    I for one am doing what I've typically done with games throughout my life: I'm testing it out, or grading how well it was put together by the game designers. Like, for instance, how some members of the community have implored upon the Devs to include bots. One problem with those is the fact that not all weapons work on them quite like they do on us human players. Try it out for yourself with the flash grenade and smoke grenade in SP. Flash has no effect whatsoever. They keep charging at you without fail. With smoke, it works against the homing shot but not the sniper. That Biker Scout can accurately hit you while looking away. Now imagine seeing flaws like that happening in MP mode? As if superhuman abilities coupled with a horrible matchmaking system wasn't frustrating enough, people would be crying foul big time with these flawed bots. I don't know if the Devs are aware of these game flaws with bots, but they certainly can not devote time to fix those while other more important bugs need to be addressed first. So as much as they like to, it's gonna be a while till those bots become the norm in MP.

    In the meantime, it's best to inform them any problems we encountered, present any workarounds we've found ourselves, and encourage them to keep going. They are human. We have no idea what's going on behind the scenes. And we can't expect hem to bite the hand that feeds them either. I'm sure they like some of the suggestions that were put forward. It's just a question of whether they can technically or not. And if they can, whether the company head wants to or not. That's why I stated that EA must not be serious about making money galore based on my own personal findings. For if they were, not only would they have named it appropriately as well as implement a true checks and balance game system, their reward system would enforce what it means to be a well-rounded gamer.

    To be sure, I like how they arranged those achievements, stars, credits, and unlockables. Just two problems: ranking and a missing star system for co-op. At first glance, their c&b system is kinda there to encourage gamers to be more well-rounded with their gameplay. But, its heavily tilted towards MP mode. Can't even rank in SP. I understand the arguments as to why they [the heads] do that: $$$. But even King Solomon would tell you that a wise man avoids all extremes. EA should allow its customers to rank offline up to two-fifths of the maximum number. In other words, with Battlefront, it would be up to 20. Gotta still play MP to keep going and complete the rest. Not hard to tweak all that. It is a game of mathematics after all and EA stands to earn greater $$$ by doing it the right way. :)

  • I was just looking at the PC discussions on this forum and there very bad!
    Many people cant find players on severs to let them play their favorite mode. And also PC severs keep going offline on a lot of people which makes them mad. They paid $60-120 for a game they can't play!
    Many people are complaining about game imbalances all across the general discussion area of this forum. My favorite is when people complains about weapons being too powerful or too weak, like the DL-44 everyone is talking about. They also talk about grenades being weak! Like the impact grenade not doing much damage. And homing shots being unavoidable. Plus Grenade spams taking people by surprise! A few complain about walkers being too powerful or too weak. Loads of people complain about hero's being too powerful to take down. Tho, hero's are suppose to be very powerful and hard to kill! People also say the Emperor is weak. While the Emperor has force lightning, It would be really nice to give him his light-saber. I hear a lot of people complaining that helmet-less storm troopers need to be booted off the game because it's impractical for a Star Wars game. Which I agree! And there bugs being reviled about player invulnerability, where players shoot at a unit all day with out taking damage. Another one has suicide fighter pilots taking down walkers and getting little or no damage from the hit. And the negative responses keep going on for ever and ever, and ever!
    People say this game is lacking content, I also agree! For the game has very little maps and mostly small and limited game modes, most of the time people cant find a game with some of these small game modes. People just like to play on big maps with large scale battles, which hurts the smaller game modes like droid run and others. This game also lacks Space modes, and Space battles makes up the true Star Wars battling experience! The game has no offline instant action!!! Offline Instant action made the other two battlefront games worth while to a lot of people! You cant have offline single-player or offline multi-player in this game, which hurts many people in their game-play experience. The Single-player that's already in the game is severely lacking game replay-ability and gets boring really fast! People want more characters to choose from than just a few basic ones that already in the game. And there are a lot more characters to chose from if EA is willing. No story mode, that makes a lot of people angry! Tho, I don't really care for the story anyway, since I got the movies and cartoons to watch. But I do enjoy playing in a story when it's available.
    Further more, No MOD support for modders, The old battlefront games has a very healthy modding community which makes the old games last for a very long time!
    And as for the naming of the game, I would go for: Star Wars Battlefield! This game is in no way a true battlefront game!
    And the DLC's! Why are they making it hard for gamers to enjoy the game by making them wait for over priced cut-up DLC's to come out. Really, they should already have the DLC's made. Why make every-one wait? By the time the last DLC comes out the game will be dead!
    And there are many more problems in this game, which would take me too long to type!
    If EA want's our money they need to step up or step out of the gaming industry. Because Video games should not be used for profit!
    As for AI Bots, their there, and it shouldn't take them long to improve the Bot's or even make Offline Single-Player Instant Action!
    The game has wonderful graphics and has very good gaming potential if EA/DICE is willing to push it up a level.
    I still remain ever hopeful that EA/DICE will improve the game, and it's true game-play potential!
    EA, We want improvements on Single-Player in Star Wars Battlefront! We want offline Instant Action with AI Bots! EA, Help us!
  • I've noticed the same thing myself: lots of frustration, especially, for PC users. Had I downloaded Origin for my PC to buy that one game instead, I would have been in the same situation. Perhaps not, but I don't want to spend my precious time seeing for myself. I've done it countless times with other games online. I know how it is and I've done what I could to help fellow PC users with their technical issues. Even went so far as to help those in charge of the games. But once you learn that its just a cash grab stunt or the game is set to close regardless, then what a waste of time it was to even bother with it. I don't blame the devs for that; I fault the heads in charge for ruining the game as well as the selfish players for utterly ruining the game experience.

    No matter what the game is if it does not keep the selfish nature of gamers in check, the game will not last. Everyone loses out in the end. Every one.

  • I don't personal-y buy many games anymore. I only bought 3 games that has the EA logo and there the only games that don't follow EA's new standards in video gaming. Tho, I have many more games from other publishers, but most of them are old, as in 5 to 10 years :/
    Most new games to day don't have the good old feeling of playing in an real and truly innovative gaming environment. All I see is game producers cutting content and reducing the standards for quality game-play. Not to mention charging over priced content that is smaller than a cut-up demo!
    Talking about video game Demo's, why cant EA do a better job in letting customers try there games instead of making them spend big money to own the game. I know EA's origin will refund money to unhappy customers, but why dump the idea of having Demo versions of video games that can give the customer an good perspective on what there buying. I guess it's simple! Why give Demo's for free to try when you can charge big sums of money for the Demo itself.
    I guess the world economy is still in very bad shape for these greedy corporations to ruin video games as there doing.

    Yes, I don't know how to run an Cooperation! But if I could, I might run it better than most company's can :D
    It's not about the flaws in the Battlefront game. It's about EA's ideas on how they produced Battlefront for the gaming community! Right now, there is a lot of problems with the game, and the gamers are just not satisfied with what they bought. Most PC(-/+) users cant play the game because of the lack of support for the game; Sever, and Match making. While I don't know how many players are playing this game(200,000~), I do see a lot of people who are just UN-satisfied with the game as it is now. Mostly only the fanboys and console users are even supporting this game now. In less than a year from now, I can see a lot of these so-called fanboys and console players just leaving and going for a new game. For this game has few maps, and not very many modes that are active for players to enjoy. This game has very limited game-play and will show redundancy in a short time of play.
    EA has sold gamers a Demo, and their holding gamers responsible for getting the full game in the form of an over priced cut-up DLC's, so gamers can enjoy the game. By the time the last DLC comes out the game will be dead!
    Battlefront(2015) doesn't live to the name like the other Battlefront titles of old does. This game lacks Offline content and core principle!

Most Investors don't even know how to play or even make a good game. All their ideas is to maximize profits from their assets. They could care less about creativity and imagination! ~~~~~Tho, not all Investors are nimble minded when it comes to Art and Fun.~~~~~~
    ~~~~~EA can make PC games and still not support them. If they see the game as non-profitable, they will discontinue support! Battlefront has the worse reviews in history of Star Wars games! And many people who bought the game has returned it because they weren't satisfied. And it's not the game bugs that are making people angry, It's the lack of content and overall support. Most players cant even get a good match without waiting forever for someone to join. PC players has the most difficult time to get a game going! Mostly the players in the South Asian Pacific! And many say that the severs are downed for long periods of time!
    ~~~~~If EA is going to release games to the public for $60+, then they should make ultimately sure that the games will work!
    ~~~~~If they are going to get gamers to pay $110 for a game, They should make sure it has reasonable content for gamers to enjoy.
    ~~~~~As for the game that is now, it will die in less than 1 year if EA don't up their content and support!
    ~~~~~I just don't see why this game has so many problems when it was the biggest test beta in history as they claim.
    Battlefront is just a Tec-Demo with an price tag attached! Over 75% of the game is missing!
    But don't get me wrong, I like the game as far as the graphics and the concept-art go. I just feel this game is missing so much more than what it suppose to have. After all this is Star Wars Battlefront!
    EA, We want improvements on Single-Player in Star Wars Battlefront! We want offline Instant Action with AI Bots! EA, Help us!
  • @XeTron Well stated, Good Sir.
    Help me understand something since I'm not familiar with EA's recent game titles. About these bots in SP, do they mimic/ resemble to any of the bots from EA's other game titles?
  • I will collaborate what I meant by "this battlefront doesn't meet the standards of the rest". What this quote means by stating it in a way of matter of this topic means that this new battlefront game compared to the rest is not up to my standards. I thought when I first played battlefront for my ps4 it would be great with all these game modes, but as time went by I got bored of it quick because there are only 6 out of a lot of star wars characters that you can only be. My recommendations would be adding a lot of more characters to the game and more game modes because I'm tired of playing the same ones all over again. I wish EA would combine all past battlefront games into one with the ps4. In old battlefront games it had game modes like capture the flag, conquest, and space missions. Along with all these great game modes they had over 40 maps to choose from in the old battlefronts as of this battlefront for ps4 only has like if your lucky 10 maps. sometimes I just feel like going back to my ps2 and playing those old game modes which is pretty bad because ps4 has better graphics but content just plain out sucks when comparing them. I really hope EA steps up their game and adds the old game content to the new one or I might just want to return ps4 stars wars battlefront to get my money back.
  • @bookofthenet11 Have you read about this topic in the General section: http://starwars.ea.com/starwars/battlefront/forums/discussion/7753/help-me-get-single-players-voices-heard-soloplayersmatter/p1
    A lot of people who loved the original games have expressed similar sentiments. They are not happy with the amount of content available with this new Battlefront game. They are advocating for more single player content with bots. They want more maps and modes that are meant for multiplayer to be made available offline. If you take the time to read it from the first page, what they want really runs the gamut.
    Xetron and myself share similar sentiments. You're not alone. I still have those games on my PC. I have no idea what's it like to play them on the console. I figure someday EA will make the remastered version, and when they do, I'll see the difference in gameplay. However, at the rate they're going with this newer version of the game and its upcoming sequels, that may not happen until after 2020. I honestly think, it will happen sooner. If EA doesn't turn this around, there may be no BF III. I don't exactly fault them entirely for that. True Star Wars fans may not like the way the films are being made. Lucas admittedly doesn't. He recanted only for legal reasons. Pay attention to that news and trend. Sure Disney is making lots of money and fans are bedazzled. But once they get past the emotions and start looking at the plot and read up on the rumors and theories, a good many of them will realize that they've been had: They just saw a Star Wars remake! roflmbo
    Oh yeah, that kind of backlash will be beyond EA's control. It would be in their best interest to listen to their customers here and elsewhere. I honestly like how they organized this one a bit. All content for this newer version is from Episodes, 4, 5, & 6. The sequel will have content from Episodes 1, 2, &3. This is in stark contrast to the originals which had both eras. Its quite obvious they plan to have number three with content from these new films. So long as everything continues to go according to plan, BF III will happen. But if not, many will begin to believe that there must be a curse at work. For whatever reason BF III is not meant to be. And if that happens, EA will have no choice but to remaster the originals in order to placate the fans of Battlefront.
    I know it's a long shot. I don't expect anyone to believe it. Just saying my two credits as usual. ;)
  • [slow clap] Wow, you just made video games philosophical. I'm not even mad; that's...amazing.
    I was just looking at the PC discussions on this forum and there very bad!
    Many people cant find players on severs to let them play their favorite mode. And also PC severs keep going offline on a lot of people which makes them mad. They paid $60-120 for a game they can't play!
    Many people are complaining about game imbalances all across the general discussion area of this forum. My favorite is when people complains about weapons being too powerful or too weak, like the DL-44 everyone is talking about. They also talk about grenades being weak! Like the impact grenade not doing much damage. And homing shots being unavoidable. Plus Grenade spams taking people by surprise! A few complain about walkers being too powerful or too weak. Loads of people complain about hero's being too powerful to take down. Tho, hero's are suppose to be very powerful and hard to kill! People also say the Emperor is weak. While the Emperor has force lightning, It would be really nice to give him his light-saber. I hear a lot of people complaining that helmet-less storm troopers need to be booted off the game because it's impractical for a Star Wars game. Which I agree! And there bugs being reviled about player invulnerability, where players shoot at a unit all day with out taking damage. Another one has suicide fighter pilots taking down walkers and getting little or no damage from the hit. And the negative responses keep going on for ever and ever, and ever!
    People say this game is lacking content, I also agree! For the game has very little maps and mostly small and limited game modes, most of the time people cant find a game with some of these small game modes. People just like to play on big maps with large scale battles, which hurts the smaller game modes like droid run and others. This game also lacks Space modes, and Space battles makes up the true Star Wars battling experience! The game has no offline instant action!!! Offline Instant action made the other two battlefront games worth while to a lot of people! You cant have offline single-player or offline multi-player in this game, which hurts many people in their game-play experience. The Single-player that's already in the game is severely lacking game replay-ability and gets boring really fast! People want more characters to choose from than just a few basic ones that already in the game. And there are a lot more characters to chose from if EA is willing. No story mode, that makes a lot of people angry! Tho, I don't really care for the story anyway, since I got the movies and cartoons to watch. But I do enjoy playing in a story when it's available.
    Further more, No MOD support for modders, The old battlefront games has a very healthy modding community which makes the old games last for a very long time!
    And as for the naming of the game, I would go for: Star Wars Battlefield! This game is in no way a true battlefront game!
    And the DLC's! Why are they making it hard for gamers to enjoy the game by making them wait for over priced cut-up DLC's to come out. Really, they should already have the DLC's made. Why make every-one wait? By the time the last DLC comes out the game will be dead!
    And there are many more problems in this game, which would take me too long to type!
    If EA want's our money they need to step up or step out of the gaming industry. Because Video games should not be used for profit!
    As for AI Bots, their there, and it shouldn't take them long to improve the Bot's or even make Offline Single-Player Instant Action!
    The game has wonderful graphics and has very good gaming potential if EA/DICE is willing to push it up a level.
    I still remain ever hopeful that EA/DICE will improve the game, and it's true game-play potential!
    WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE?!? I can't wait to see you on the battlefield!
    Holy force you guys have a lot to say and type a lot... HueHue
    Was a good read xD
    I think they should have called this game Battlefield or Titanfall. NOT battlefront
  • They may actually have to rename it to Battlefront Arena since its so chaotic and so far from what the Star Wars universe is like. Helmetless Imperial Troopers? That is so against the Imperial Code. A Rebel using equipment meant for an Imperial and vice versa, unheard of. Luke using a Force Push? Call it for what it is: a Force Kill.
    I have not played those other aforementioned games, but if DICE had stayed instead of straying from the true Star Wars universe made famous by none other than George Lucas when the films were produced, I would be inclined to try those aforementioned games. I would have been bit by the shooter bug and bought them and joined those respective forums and pretty much do there as done here. But nope. Until these fundamental things are corrected, I'll hold out for the time being.
    I am inclined to believe that they will in time. @MrStarGamer and @Webn8tr_ Thank you for your replies.
