Thoughts & Prayers For Sledge's Son + Family

I just heard that Sledge's son is ill. Regardless of the game's state or any lack of communication, I felt it was appropriate to show some support. Times like this it seriously helps. So my thoughts and prayers for Sledge and his family during a difficult time. I hope he gets well real soon, and that he and his family have peace that everything will turn out ok.

At any rate I thought it would be nice for him to have something positive waiting for him on the forums when he checks in. Might be a nice surprise.

Thank you all for the warm wishes, I shall pass them onto him.

While Sledgehammer may be backwards and forwards for the next week or so, the community team shall still try to keep up with all the feedback we're getting and try and continue to keep everyone aware as things develop.

Really appreciate the warmth folks, keep on gaming!

    Thanks for the comments everyone.

My son was born with a blood disorder Hereditary spherocytosis, in simple terms a large percentage of his blood cells are spherical and his spleen treats them as a virus and destroys them. That being said, a sickness like influenza A while dangerous in its own right is a sickness that my newborn was hospitalized for. Unlike you and I, he doesn't have the proper amount of blood cells to fight it off on his own.

A lot of time I have taken away from work and you may have seen @Braddock512 step in has been due to hospitalization of my youngest son Ryan. A lot of the time it's unexpected and getting Jeff and the mods up to speed takes time. In most cases they have been e-mailing me asking questions about the game to help while I am out.

But overall, my son is back home and my entire family is recovering. I luckily had my flu shot and avoid this sickness... for now.

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers.

You are a good man. So glad everyone is doing better. Keep up the good work as a community manager, but more importantly, as a loving and caring father. Im sure your son thinks the world of you.

May the force be with you.
  • Hope your son and family are on the track to recovery sledge. Anyone's child getting any kind of illness is a horrible experience.

Lol I almost fell for it...
I do, however have mixed feelings about this. Even though you are going so low as posing as Sledgehammer.
Private life should be kept private, even here. Its against the community guidelines to mention anything involving the privacy of the staff.

  • There is a reason why the community guidelines forbid mentioning private details about a user. Have it your way.
