Tips & Tricks (Possible Spoilers - Beware)

Let's start a friendly thread on Tips & Tricks we've used in the Companion App - Base Command to help each other out.

I'll drop a few I've noticed.

1. Never forget to use your turret. As the game progresses, it can get pretty powerful.
2. If you have an X-Wing and there are enemies on the edge, go after them first. Prevent more from swarming your base.
3. Rebels are pretty useless until the enemy gets too close, but make sure you're using your Star Cards for upgrades and enhancements (+2 Attack) to help lock down the Empire if they do get that close.
4. Keep checking your Star Cards. They can really turn the tide, but they have to be played to do so. Sector Star Cards should be used efficiently. If you can take out 2 Stormtroopers but seriously damage 2 Speederbikes, do the latter.
5. Use your turret.
6. Don't put your assets in a fight you won't win. Wear the enemy down with, you guessed it, turret shots.
7. Don't waste the Star Card that allows an asset to fire on any space. This would be pointless for an X-Wing, but great for a Snowspeeder.
8. If you get Shield boosters, make sure you use them before the end of the match. It will affect your bonuses and your credits.

Someone else continue and we'll edit/add to this post.

  • 1. You should try to play as many cards as possible every turn (unless you have a reason to save a card).
    2. As mentioned above, weaken enemies before attacking with Friendly units. The more combats you win (with units), the more your score multiplier goes up. It goes down when you lose a combat. So get the health down enough that you're sure you can win a combat situation before attacking.
    3. Don't attack regenerating units unless you know you can kill them that turn.
    4. Ion blast is a great card to get rid of Unit Perks on vehicles. That plus Trap is one of the few easy ways of getting rid of an AT-AT before you unlock better cards.
    5. Rebel Infantry units are the weakest, but are the most versatile because of modifier cards.
    6. Make sure to check the perks of both units before using Defection to maximize the damage to both.
    7. Use the Elite training card often in early/easy Sieges as you get more score for each unit rank.
    8. A higher ranking unit will provide more score than two lower ranking units.

If you play on multiple platforms, you can change your active profile by going to the Settings menu, Change Profile. All profiles linked to the account will show up. The active profile is highlighted and has a yellow ball in the right corner of the name.

Cool thread. I´ll add a few items:

Because a unit ranks up when it wins in combat (and ranked-up units both get better combat stats and are worth more score at end of Siege), it is almost always better to fire Base Cannon, then enter combat than the other way around.

In other words, it´s often better from a scoring perspective to soften targets with the Base Cannon before combat, rather than use it to mop up survivors.

Don´t forget to check the blinking unit health for a prediction of how much damage you´ll deal in a combat. Note that Critical Hits are random (1/6 chance per Attack made) and are not part of this combat prediction.

    Have fun!

  • Another helpful tip - you can remove the "protected" perk with a single 1-powered Base Cannon shot, and then attack with a Unit Card. Makes protected units much easier to deal with.

Save up your Base Cannon shots, if you can. After 2 turns, you get a 5pt hit on anything, including unprotected AT-ATs.
    Can definitely turn the tide.

Also, don't use a Super Shield. Hold those power-ups to rebuild shields.

Are you using the Base Cannon?
    Are you discarding unwanted cards?

Both of these can be easy to miss in the heat of battle. :)

How far in are you? You´ll get much better cards when you get the cards in Battlefront.

So if you bring Cycler Rifle, Thermal Detonator, Jump Pack, Personal Shield, and Ion Shot for example into your Base Command Deck, you´ll have a much easier time defeating the enemy units.

Hope that helps, and thanks for playing!

  • Here´s a mini puzzle for all Base Commanders!

    HOW TO MAXIMIZE SCORE?
There is one enemy left in the Siege.
The enemy has 2 Health left and is standing at range 1.
You have no Base Shield in that sector.
Your Base Cannon is fully charged (will deal 5 damage if you use it.)
Your Star Cards are Suppressive Fire (pushes a unit back 1 step) and Artillery Strike (deals 2 damage)
Your Unit Cards are a rank 1 airspeeder, a rank 2 airspeeder, and a rank 0 Rebel Soldier.

QUESTION: What´s the best way to defeat the remaining unit if you want to maximize your score?

    1) Push enemy with Suppressive Fire, then attack it with your rank 2 airspeeder
    2) Push enemy with Suppressive Fire, then attack it with your rank 1 airspeeder
    3) Attack it with your rank 0 Rebel Soldier
    4) Defeat it with Artillery Strike
    5) Let it enter your base

  • Kill off weak units to increase to increase your multiplier so you can score more on high value targets. Kill stormtroopers before taking down the AT-AT
