We don't know what that means at all, could just as well be skins/decals or whatsoever.

That's just a marketing term they throw around, it still means nothing until you actually know what it means.

Stop looking for reasons to hate just for the sake of hating based on absolutely nothing but a few meaningless terms.

From my understanding you'll be able to level up your troops. The pre-order will give you the points to level up your trooper immediately.

    I noticed that too.

Not like E.A.front 1 is already heavily p2w

I just might have to buy this version, but then again, working towards unlocks is much more fun than getting them instantly.

    You must be brain dead...

You don't know what any of that means. For all we know it's only cosmetic or early access to stuff we can unlock naturally. Let's reserve judgement until we have more information.

For now I'm just remaining hopeful there's no divisive season pass.

So will the person who just buys the standard version be able to unlock the A-280 CFE and other attachments and class upgrades through leveling up? Or will they be locked?
  • That's not pre-order, that's the deluxe edition
  • Wow, that doesn't sound appealing, even if you do pre-order. "Hey, you want to spend time playing and have the feeling of progression? Don't preorder our game!"

Am I in the minority that actually likes playing and working to upgrade classes?

Still, Deluxe edition still it hints of P2W.
  • As long as you can upgrade to those levels through play, it's fine. Make all maps free to all players and you can charge for as many skins and early perks as you like.
  • It doesn't matter. Poor people are usually angry. And angry people are usually poor.

Where did you get the idea that anyone here is poor?

And what does that have to do with the game?
  • Vast majority of games do this. Only exclusives are the Cosmetics. It isn't P2W because in the end the only advantage they have is time. If you would rather spend more money so that you can have more stuff at the start then fine. If not, nobody is gonna stop you playing more hours to get to the same position.

Yeah? How is that pay to win? It's like the last game where if you preordered you got to use the dl-44 right away..? You can still unlock them.

Point being that you have absolutley no idea how it's going to work. Stop hating, you got all eras, weapon customization, more vehicles and maps.

Why do people feel this disgusting feel to discredit something that we fans have been asking for, more contet?
  • Even though this sucks, I hope they just leave it at that. I really hope we don't see a ultimate edition with the infamous "season pass/maps".

    Its not misleading....

"Even the Standard Edition Pre-Order states this...
Anyone who pre-orders the Standard Edition will get a whole range of rewards, including exclusive* Star Wars: The Last Jedi™-themed looks for Kylo Ren and Rey, an ability modifier that upgrades the Millennium Falcon, epic ability modifiers for Rey and Kylo Ren, and more."

So, yes, they get cosmetics, but also ability modifiers....regardless if that is a minor or large advantage, its still an advantage. It still puts you ahead of others.
  • I feel like they could have used the word 'epic' in that description a few more times.

Why the complaint? Are you not happy the price went down dude? Many SW fans would love to spend just $80 vs $120. It only says 4 upgrades, 1 FOR EACH CLASS. You don't even know how fast it will take to get upgrades. People who played EABF1 got level 5 in less than an hour. Sure you get new weapons and a few abilities at the start, but that doesn't make a person a better player buddy. It's really not pay 2 win but just a way in which they can get more money even though fans who love star wars will give in anyway.

The only concern I have is DICE's ability to balance weapons and such, however, seeing that they are moving to a "deep class-progression" system balance is more irrelevant and takes a different approach but should be easier to control.

Ultimately you would be "ahead" but I doubt that really makes a true difference.

No one is discrediting content or the surprises we got....that is your bad assumption. I didn't say the content was garbage....

DL-44 Pre-order bonus was P2W, beause it gave people arguably the best gun at the time, which put them ahead of others, thus giving them an advantage for a time....That is P2W.

Damage modifiers, regardless of hero or ship, still give you an advantage over others, because they don't have it....Regardless of minor or major advantages, its still an advantage.

Dude. I would moan if this was 69.99 Standard Edition. It's literally 59.99 and 53.99 with EA Access. 10/18 dollars cheaper than the first game on the day of release. Look *inhale*! Deluxe Edition costs 79.99 and with EA Access 71.99, which is almost the same price as the first game...

Why are you bringing the price into this? That is not the point of this thread.

For the record, the Deluxe Edition is still $99 CDN in Canada. Same what price I paid in 2015 and USA is not the only country....But like I said, nothing to do with the thread.

If it's just early access (like buying the deluxe for the first and getting the DL-44 early on), I'll just stick with the normal. Like someone said earlier, the game I think is better when you put the TIME into it.

If it's an exclusive weapon earned ONLY in the deluxe edition though, well, when I buy games I like to own EVERY collectible/item/etc... I'll probably cave.

  • I think all that will mean is that you will have from the start some leveled up skills. Like you will begun with the level 10 class skills (not the max rank skills) for those instead of the level 1 like everybody else. But when you will reach level 10 you will not unlock anything as the rest of the player will unlock the level 10 upgrades. But I agree with some of the above comments: give us all the maps and we will deal with the rest :)

Don't act like a lot of people weren't gonna buy the deluxe edition, anyway. It is what it is. That's what almost every company does with DLC now. They're in it for money.

Guys...be thankful there's no season pass to split the community. If they want to charge a little extra for a deluxe edition with cosmetics and some boosters let them. It's a common practice nowadays and a much better alternative than paid map packs.

  • It looks like it's offering one upgrade to 1 weapon and one upgrade to 1 ability
, and imagine there's are more/different upgrades to different weapons and abilities within each class. Here's what the ps4 pre-order page says

The STAR WARS™ Battlefront™ II: Elite Trooper Deluxe Edition includes*†:

    - Elite Officer Upgrade Pack:
    Blurrg-1120 + enhanced grip modification
    Battle Command epic ability

    - Heavy Metal Upgrade Pack:
FWMB-10 Megablaster + barrel vent modification
    Personal Shield epic ability

    - Armored Assault Upgrade Pack:
    CR-2 + trigger modification
    Grenade epic ability

    - Master Specialist Upgrade Pack:
    A280-CFE + scope modification
    Laser Trip Mine epic ability
  • EA- its in the deluxe edition. While the trailers excites me, I haven't forgotten who we are dealing with. I'm optimistic, but I will not be preorder.
