    Or better yet, wait until we have all 3 eras and some cross-era maps... we can't very well have Galactic Conquest as it was in the original games with just 5 maps. Galactic Conquest in the original Battlefront II used almost every map in the base game, and many maps were cross-era.

    We'd also need a new Starfighter mode for Instant Action to complement the conquest mode for the fleet-building mechanics. I think a good idea would be similar to Capital Supremacy, but have it set entirely in space and replace the ground phase with Starfighter Team Battle... augmented with light cruisers like the Arquitens-Class Cruiser and Separatist Landing Craft as objectives.

    Basically, you would whittle down the enemy's reinforcements by defeating enemy Starfighters (-1 Reinforcements), Bomber Squadrons sent to attack your Escorts (-5 Reinforcements if all bombers are destroyed) and destroying enemy Escort ships (-20 Points for every Escort destroyed).

    Escorts and Bombers would respawn periodically, and when either sides Reinforcement count drops to 0 you transition to the Boarding phase, which plays out the same as normal Capital Supremacy; succeed, you win the battle and destroy the enemy fleet. Fail, and you go back to the starfighter phase.

    Not bad but I like this idea better. So for the ones outside in space it would be "Star Fighter Assault" and they could inflict damage to the big ships but to those who try boarding the hanger (like Iden did in the campaign) they'd be playing "Capital Supremacy" phase II (sort of) heading for the engines, shield and turrets as targets.

    P.S.- This sort of attack from the inside thing is in the game already, in the campaign when Iden and Hask take out the rebel ships engines and in phase 2 of Capital Supremacy.

    The Rise of Skywalker map is coming in Dec. As CS is the default mode rather than Galactic Assault (as seen with Felucia not getting a GA map), it stands to reason that the new map will be CS only.

    Could the "terror" be the beginning of the ST maps being ported to CS in Oct.? Starkiller base was designed to obliterate systems of planets, inspiring fear to those that would not submit to the First order. Could Crait's invasion force of troopers and ATM6 walkers have inspired fear for the resistance as they cowered in the bunkers, realizing hope was almost lost, preparing for the end?



    Could this be the beginning of the ST maps beginning to be trickled out to make room for TROS map in Dec.? We know DICE is planning to add ST and OT maps. Having the 4 ST maps (Starkiller Base, Crait in Oct. Jakku/Takodona in Nov.) be released as teasers for TROS map would hype up the ROS movie before the new map hits.

    Again, this is my theory and will likely be wrong as DICE is likely operating with a smaller crew of programmers who won't have time to develop the 4 maps into CS maps. What do you think?

    Someone on Reddit theorized that it may have something to do with the "Legacy of Terror" episode from The Clone Wars TV series. It's possible that we could be getting Geonosians as one of the new Reinforcements coming in October (likely as a replacement for the B2-RP Rocket Droid on Geonosis) along with a Geonosian Hunt mode.

    With that in mind, there is also the possibility of Clone Flametroopers being added as well to replace the Wookie Warrior on Felucia, Naboo, Kamino, and Geonosis given that they play a role in that story arc... and the community has been complaining about the presence of Wookie Warriors on Kamino and Geonosis for years now.

    I really like that idea and it would be a great way to prepare for the TROS season but i don't think, that's the case (for the reason, you mentioned in your last sentence).
    Perhaps it's just Wanpa hunt, as some are speculating. I imagine, that Ewoks, playable in GA on Endor could be a thing (since they are coming from a "terror" mode).
    I personally hope, that we are getting new times of day for the CS maps, for example night time versions of Geonosis, Kashyyyk and Felucia, since this is something, that would be most likely available for IA as well.

    1.) morning
    2.) noon
    3.) last light of evening into sunset
    4.) night
    5.) random [the computer picks anything for the map]




    How about the ability to toggle weather. Selections could include:
    1.) sunny
    2.) cloudy [all maps save Tatooine due to two suns]
    3.) raining [all maps save Tatooine due to two suns]
    4.) snowing [all maps save Tatooine due to two suns]
    5.) dust storm [restricted to Tatooine and Jakku only]
    6.) foggy [all maps save Tatooine due to two suns]
    7.) thunder and lightning
    8.) extremely windy
    9.) dynamic progression [weather can start off sunny and then start raining after five minutes oooooor you could start off at night time and a cloud rolls in and thunder and lightning. Imagine that epic battle.🤗 Imagine trying to have a lightsaber battle in the fog. This is soooooo cool! So many possibilities.]

  • For the past week, I've gotten back into playing Arcade Team Battle now that I know Instant Action is just around the corner. It's actually been pretty fun because I can finally appreciate it for what it is instead of feel disappointment toward it for not being what it should've been. Once Instant Action is here, it will be interesting to see if I ever go back and play Team Battle again. I guess that will depend on if/when we get more IA maps from OT era.
    Has anyone heard any more news about what kinds of pregame customization options Instant Action will have?

    Galactic Conquest, like some other gamemodes from the old game, were massively overrated for me.

    GC was just Conquest and space battles across all planets, with a few advantages to spend points on. What's so great about it? It was Conquest itself that made that mode enjoyable really and we're getting Conquest in the form of Instant Action.
    I don't think it's really needed. Plus, there aren't enough planets for it to feel like you're taking over the galaxy.

    I'm not expecting anything brand new and unique to offline to be added to it.

    I've been playing a bit of Team Battle again too and enjoying it for the same reasons you state!

    I'll likely go back to it infrequently just to experience some of those excellent Starfighter maps!

    The Geonosian Hunt mode theory has since been de-confirmed by Ben on Reddit.

    Personally, I'm hoping for Shadow Stormtroopers with cloaking ability (which 2015 Survival mode made canon), as Infiltrators for the Empire.

    Coming out of cloak could be considered...scary 😅 I'm reaching with this one, but we are supposed to be getting new reinforcements, likely not for Clone Wars either!

    I don't think i will ever go back to arcade again but i'm pretty sure while IA will be PT only, if i want some OT experience then i'll go back to BF2015 Skirmish.
    It's still good even if it does not have AI reinforcements and heroes.

    I doubt, this is ever going to happen in this game, nor in a possibly BF3. It would be very cool though. Then i'd like to see different times of year as well. For example on Naboo you would have a spring/summer version with green leaves and lots of birds twittering, a fall version with red/orange leaves and wind and a winter version without leaves on the trees but on the ground and slightly falling snowflakes.

    I personally would be completely fine with basically a day and a night version for most of the maps and/or another time of day. I thought about something like this (at the moment just for the CW era):
    • Geonosis -> day (we have it now)/ night/ day with sandstorm
    • Kamino -> day and rain(we have it now)/ day with sunshine/ night with a heavy storm and emergency light indoors
    • Kashyyyk -> day and sunshine (we have it now)/ night (from GA)/ day and rainy
    • Naboo -> night (we have it now)/ day (from GA)
    • Felucia -> day (seen on the concept art)/ night with glowing plants
  • I don't really want Shadow Troopers to be the new reinforcement for the Empire because they are just regular Stormtroopers with a colour change. Purge Troopers or something like that would be cooler.

    Been Waiting since 2015 for this...

    Have not been following the game since berfore the beginning of Summer. Came back to the forum today, and WOW!

    Very excited!
    I honestly thought they would not deliver on their promise to deliver the offline large scale mode.

    3 days now I guess?

  • I’m very curious about the customization options available at launch for IA. We’ve Already heard that the more involved skin selectors won’t be in at launch but that they’re working towards it. Time of day would be a biggie for me. As I’ve mentioned before, at best I’d like to select from the available TOD for each map (i.e. the three current TOD for Naboo). I don’t need them the create all new TOD for each map, just give me what I would already experience in MP. At worst, let the TOD cycle randomly the way it does now in ARCADE.
  • I’m thinking a lot about the CoOp mode too. (Much more than I thought I would) and it seems like it will be a reasonable facsimile of GA. Maybe we’re surprised by big Artillery classes making an appearance but it really seems like COOP will mirror GA and IA mirrors CS.

    Since that seems to be the case I would hope that CoOp gets the Geonosis map from GA with a similar experience. I’m not counting on bringing down the hardcells, or marching up the battlefield with ATTEs but they should be out there. Hardcells should fall and there should be massive dust storms just like in GA.

    Seems like CoOp follows the same stages as GA only it’s capture CPs instead of the current GA objectives. This is why we see only a few CP at a time in snper sections. The action moves along with the player.
  • Starfighters are another curious bit. We’ve heard rumors and there’s a very unclear comment from F8RGE regarding star fighters being in IA. I think azzatru said they would be in any maps that featured them already, but no CS maps feature star fighters. GA maps do, so I wonder if COOP gets star fighters but IA doesn’t? Just a very grey area.

    I think we’re in for some surprises, as the builds we’ve seen demoed were outdated.

    Truth be told as much as I want star fighters, I’m okay with not getting them as long as we get Starfighter assault added to INSTANT ACTION.
  • Obviously I want the full lineup of OT and ST maps added to IA And COOP. and I’m still hoping for an eventual addition of the other maps (theed hangar, Kessel, Administrator palace, jabba palace, maybe even the capital ship interiors) modified to have three command posts (or five if the map is big enough) and added to INSTANT ACTION.

    As far as artillery goes I just want them there marching up the field. I don’t even care if you can’t destroy or disable them. Except on Hoth. I want to be able to bring down a walker with a snow speeder on hoth...

    But that will only be an issue when OT is added.

    Well since walkers are a part of GA I’d think it would be easier to implement walkers into COOP, but I’d like them in IA as well (where apllicable). Ideally, I’d just like be chance to enjoy playing with and against these(and all) units at my own pace offline.

    Just have an MTT roll across Kashhyykk or Naboo. AtAts on Hoth, etc. no need to worry about finding disruptors to take them down. Just let them do what’s thy do during GA and roll/walk to a certain point. Then once the action moves inside, they are a non factor.

That being said, nobody seems to be in any rush to make a new BF and I can 99.99% guarantee that we will not be seeing another Battlefront on this generation of consoles. Thoughts on this?

    If it is supported beyond 2020 as in, into 2021-2022, and we don't get any word of a new BF being developed, then I think there's a chance but if a new BF gets released at any point in 2022 we will hear something by late 2020 early 2021. I just don't think we'll see another BF that soon unless Disney starts knocking it out of the park with Star Wars content and even then, I think, at the earliest, we see another BF between 2023-2025 as we know it takes at least 3-5 yrs to develop.

    To be honest the lack of urban maps it's something i don't like and miss. It was great to walk around all those buildings and streets. That's the reason why i hope so hard we get coruscant one day.

    I'd be fine with that. No one really knows, when the support (= content) is going to end. There are so many planets, i want to see for IA, like Bespin, Scarif, Sullust, Vardos, Utapau, Mygeeto or Coruscant and i would be fine with any of these, since all those planets would/could bring something unique and new to the game.
    I hope to see one or two new maps for the OT, since there would be only 4 maps (DS2 wouldn't work for CS) and the OT has the most stuff to adapt from (5 movies and 1 TV show and two more to come (3, if you count the Mandalorian)).

    I hope we do get Coruscant eventually. Ideally I’d like a new version of the 2005 Jedi library and Jedi Temple. It’s true that if we were to get the streets in Coruscant that it would be insanely colorful and busy and alive.

    There was some old BF2 2017 concept art that surfaced for Naboo that is close to what I think we could see for Coruscant

    I think that we’ll return to the prequel era for a spell AFTER we spend some time in the ST and OT ERAS.

    The rest of 2019 will be ST focused. January 2020 as well. I think we’ll get some PT sprinkled in along the way throughout 2020, including an Ashoka/Ventress + Clone skins in FEB for CW season 7.

    Rough sketch: we’ll likely see a handful of OT maps throughout 2020. Scarif would be first, around March.

    Wouldn’t surprise me to see a Death Star trench run SA map around May.

    Likely will see a Sullust map later in summer.

    And I’m really hoping for a Battle of Jakku SA map.

    Lastly, I’d like to see a Bespin Cloud City map and a Carbon freeze chamber map. This is all throughout 2020.

    These maps are not currently represented in game and are all iconic. It would flesh out the OT, and are all necessary as far as I’m concerned. I’m going into detail as to how this will all work in a later post, but I think we have a good shot at it all.

  • I'd love to see Utapau more than any Clone Wars map. While I liked Coruscant in SWBF2 (2005), can you imagine how amazing Utapua would look with today's graphics? Plus, a movie battle actually took place there, so you can recreate Obi Wan/Grevious. I'm glad we are getting Felucia and have full confidence it will be an amazing map, I would have rather have had Utapau.

    Yea I remember Utapau in the old game very fun and entertaining. I don't think I ever got bored playing Utapau..
