    I never saw any bots spawning on CPs. It would be quite nice, if you could use the Squad Spawn system as well (why would they implement it, if there is no intention to make it work?).

    More option are always better.
    I am the same user as Elimelech401, that account was not tied to the game. I am hoping for more Skirmish with split screen and hero AI.

    Missing ai characters like obi-wan, Gen Grevious and Anakin now spawn but only on opposite team. They definitely attack more aggressively, which is good.

  • This is becoming one of my most favourite games ever, after a long, stressful day at work I can home to a couple of matches in instant action.

    Still feels surreal to me that we even have IA now, COOP is fantastic as well, even with it's lack of options, content and variation.

  • It's been suggested that friendly Ai heroes will be in next week's update but its doubtful that they will happen because apparently the Devs don't want friendly bots using heroes, thus limiting the players choice of what hero the player can pick..

    I think, the solution for this could be an option to deactivate the Battle Point system, so you can spawn as whatever you want and the AI picks anything from the rest. And if you want to use another hero mid-game, the AI, which uses that hero would respawn as whatever you played before.

  • Not sure about that yet. Haven't played it myself yet, as I'm stuck at work. But my friend who can look into the PC files confirmed the new bot count.
  • My friend says he has been triple teamed while playing, so it seems that at least 3 CAN spawn at once. Though I don't know if difficulty factors into that.

    They've added an extra 3 bots to EACH side with the newest update.

    Update Is being weird for me so I can't play either but anyway, 17v17 including Reinforcements, Heroes and eventually Vehicles It might be 18v18 or 19v19 that'd be a war!

    I played Capital Supremacy today to get the Maul Emote and it was the most horrible experience i had since before the September Update (i played no other mode than Arcade, Instant Action and Co-op since then). Thank you, DICE for Instant Action and Co-op! THANK YOU!!!

  • Are the purple cards and weapons still locked?
    Hope they fix this. I never bothered playing hero’s online, and probably won’t ever. Be nice to play them offline in IA like Arcade.

    An easy solution for this problem:

    If you choose to play as a hero that an AI is already playing as, one of two things could happen:

    1.) It automatically terminates that AI hero bot and spawns you in at the default starting position
    -or-
    2.) You assume control of the AI hero bot wherever they are presently on the battlefield.

    It is a single-player game, so no one is going to care if an AI hero randomly disappears so you can spawn in as them.

    We desperately need AI heroes for the sake of balance.

    The new hero AI in the update is PERFECT now. It presents a very engaging challenge and is amazing how intelligently it behaves. Now in order to strike balance, we must have an equal number of heroes on either team at any given time -- player OR AI controlled.

    Loving the new patch all around, by the way.

    I knew something about the pacing of the combat felt better. This is a definite improvement. I'm hoping we eventually get up to 20v20, but for now 16v16 is much better than 13v13.
  • I've been playing for the last 2 hours and i have to say that the new AI heroes are superb. They are aggressive and chase you once they see you close.
    It feels like play against a real hero player, can't notice the difference.

    You’ve hit the nail on the head with the friendly hero solution. Having the ai controlled hero “die” and you take over as that hero if selected is exactly what I thought would work best.
    Having friendly heroes to fight with is a must imo.

    I really think for co-op to shine more they need to split it away from being mirrored PVP mechanics.

    PVE Only player movement controls/misc mechanics

    - RMB/secondary function on consoles - while pushing forward on walls/static crates and using RMB player switches to 3rd person camera and uses them as cover, wasd for leaning around/shooting over cover
    - Jump - double tap jump to ledge crab and pull up over objects in the game world
    - Player Death - incapp players and give them a chance to be revived by other players. XP/credits system could be tied in if the player force respawns when no players are around for revive. 1 player forced revive could cost 1k xp or 100 credits.
    - Remove 45 second timer before round starts and adjust it to 10 seconds
    - When joining a co-op missions there should be a 10 second count down while the game tries to match players. There should also be UI options to wait for other player to join, or start now.

    I agree, I am sure DICE can figure out a way to transition a taken AI hero to the player if the player wants it. Maybe even a toggle menu option for heroes AI can use per team or you cannot take AI ones if you select that option.

    What a great update!

    - AI heroes are absolute beasts! I've gone from essentially cheesing their stamina meter with continuous fire and their lack of sprinting in the previous update to almost running for my life every time I see them ! 😂

    - AI skins are a great addition! So immersive and just awesome to see more palette swaps in action!

    - More AI for each difficulty is fantastic too! The maps feel much more filled up now!

    - The Troopers also seem to fight harder and take over more command posts now too!

    The only problem I've seen, is that even on Rookie difficulty (which I tried just to sample that equal 16v16 gameplay), I have to fight pretty hard to win on maps like Kashyyyk, maybe because it's so big? Maybe because there were 3 Hero AI most of the time tipping the scale?

    AI ally heroes might mitigate this, I feel rookie difficulty feels more like normal-expert right now.

    Fantastic update though!^^

    I had fantastic experiences without the HUD. Sooooo beautiful.

    Just the sky feels like in need of few starfighters. (playable)

    Can't wait to play Instant Action in all starwars eras.

  • Just had a fight on Kamino as the Rep. I was capturing command post B and AI Dooku and Grievous rushed me and quickly killed me. Fought Maul on Geonosis, was an absolute beast. Thanks DICE for the awesome update. I can only imagine how awesome this game will be with all starcards and weapons unlocked, reinforcement AI and vehicle AI.

    I hope it doesn't take that long for a few OT maps tbh, unless that is, they are planning on Sequal era first due to the new Movie and all, which is understandable. Also isn't one of the future patches going to add Ai vehicles?

    Oh, I have not forgotten the other eras. I'd love to play ALL maps in IA. I think we will get the ST maps first as DICE has to push the ST for the Rise of Skywalker. I'd love for them to release ALL ST maps for IA in Dec./Jan (Jakku, Takodana, Starkiller Base, Crait and the new planet). I can see the OT planets being released in the spring/summer. Getting the CW maps and AI for IA was probably the most difficult hurdle as they behave so differently from each other. With all of the AI groundword in place, I'm sure coding the AI for the ST and OT will be considerably easier.

    They have to have the snowspeeder and At AT for Hoth. If they could program the AI for Walker Assault in SWBF2015, I think they can make the AI for this game. I'd love to see Starfighter AI, or Starfighter Assault in IA.
  • I just played some more and ran into Anakin and Obi Wan. Anakin was not that difficult to take down, I used a combination of Specialist and heavy. Obi Wan is super tough. Once the AI picks a hero, it's tough to gain any ground. I'm not complaining in the slightest. I love the challenge. I felt giddy having the hero AI be so powerful. I played on rookie today and am 2-2 (2 wins, 2 losses). The trooper AI seems slightly better. I can hardly wait for reinforcements. The vehicle AI will probably operate like hero AI (no friendly AI vehicles, but there will be enemy vehicle AI). Realistically, I can see both AI's coming in November's update, hopefully with all cards/weapons unlocked.

    Well...SnOw, technically CookieMan is correct. For this game the Assault class vanguard shotgun used to one hit kill people, before people whined and the devs nerfed it that is. So for me I don't mind, it makes them more like the classic SWBF 2 (2005) game, we used to nickname the shotgun class "Regulators" back in the day. They were a force to be reckoned with that is for sure.

    This update has been awesome! The new AI heroes are great and I've head some really awesome moments!! Anakin has been defeating me easily which is awesome to see. I was playing as Obi-Wan and jumped down to face Grievous at a command post. I used the "Hello There" emote and in response Grievous said "General Kenobi!" what perfect dialogue!! Dooku has been a great challenege and AI skins are a nice addition.

    I've not met AI Kenobi yet but I look forward to facing him!!

    I'm absolutely loving DICE and EA and their Star Wars games at the moment!!!!! Thank you so much for making this game incredible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here is too more updates!!!

    If the devs can manage to add the following , instant action will be perfect.




    40 bots
    1 or 2 ai droidekas
    At least 1 ai hero for players team
    A couple of ai controlled vehicles
    Ai should spawn near command posts they've captured




    Obviously hitting the 40 bot mark could be the most difficult goal to reach but if that's possible that would be amazing.

    I agree with yet one more difficulty setting.

    Rookie: should be 19 vs 13.

    Normal: should be 16 vs 16.

    Expert: should be 13 vs 19

    *Hard Core: should be 11 vs 21

    *Hard Core difficulty: Think Inferno difficulty from "Earth Defense Force", pretty near impossible but wildly funny. A bunch of fast sprinting heroes could maybe pull it off though. But it would require likely Split Screen. This difficulty is not so much for the win as it is just to fight insane hordes of enemies.

    Since the AI difficulty itself can't be changed, i'd like to see this option be replaced by an option to change both Team Sizes individually, like in Arcade. It should be something like 10 bots per team as a minimum and 24 bots per team (if this is possible at all) as a maximum.

    I have been back since IA was implemented. and i said so, but it's still a lot of fun! Really like the game I was hoping for. but I'm afraid I've missed some information in the past. I'm sorry if you keep seeing the same questions again and again. I have noticed that I am unable to enter the AT TE on Felucia. Is that a bug?
    I noticed also that sometimes 2 friendly Troopers followed me. I love camping the CP C with Heavy Trooper on Kasyyyk. But when I have these two soldiers in front of my weapon, I'm dead faster than the Emperor falls down the Death Star.
    and last. My Allied soldiers are conquering little to no CP. is there a reason why? should I play so that the AI ​​recognizes something more??

    It's from the PC and it is not true for X-Box One or the PS-4 at least not yet.

    My review of "Instant Action's" October 2019 update.

    First impressions.

    Map: Geonosis
    Difficulty: Rookie
    Faction: Republic Clone Army

    At the spawn start 1 or 2 A.I. will kneel down to snipe. 😇👍🏼
    Well I started off on Geonosis with me and 12 clones making us total at 13 on my team. 5 went left to B CP and 5 went right to C CP and 2 knelt behind me to snipe.

    One game start 1 A.I. ran circles around me I guess because he wanted me to go with them, lol. Once I joined he followed me. I love this A.I..


    Further analyzes:

    By the way, make sure to look behind you at the game starting spawn point, some times 2 Cone troopers stay behind, kneel down and snipe, sometimes it is only 1 that stays behind and sometimes none stay behind.



    Raves:

    (1.) When you start to really win they get mega aggressive. I played on Rookie difficulty and once I reached 52% the enemy came at me like there was no tomorrow.
    I was at Command Post D defending it, they sent General Grevious and Darth Tyranus at me 4 times. Then they sent Darth Maul and Darth Tyranus at me. I was in a Republic Clone AT-RT so I held my own. Then something phenomenal happened, they sent everything they had at me. I had Droid Army troopers completely surrounding me firing at me from all sides and all the villains came at me...it was insane. They finally took me down, I was toast, it was awesome. But guess what? Lol, while I was fitting them they took 4 out of the 5 CPs. But I choose a hero and got enough back to to win, 100% to 48%... Another match was 78% A.I. enemy Droid Army to 100%. 👍🏼

    (2.) There was other epic things as well. I watched the villains just mow throw my clone troopers. 👍🏼

    (3.) I watch massive A.I. trooper vs A.I. droids laser battles in the Geonotian valley below me, it was so cool. I really felt like I was in a full on war. Finally (sigh)...So grateful DICE, totally high five. 👍🏼

    (4.) I was grinning ear to ear the whole time, so much fun. "Instant Action" feels just as intense and exciting now as "Co-Op" does. Way to go devs, way to go. 👍🏼

    (5.) Sometimes the enemy A.I. ran away from grenades and ducted behind rocks and metal walls, wow just wow. 👍🏼

    (6.) When I played on Geonosis on Rookie difficulty and did not use a vehicle like the AT-RT or a hero I simply got trounced on. Amazing A.I.... 👍🏼

    (7.) Once on Geonosis I was defending Command Post A and Bossk came at me. He destroyed my AT-RT all by himself, wow...just wow. 👍🏼

    (8.) An A.I. Commando Droid, sometimes when your trying to melee them, they will run circles around you making you miss. 👍🏼

    (9.) At one point (in this one match) I could not figure out why I could not take Command Post E on Geonosis. Then I realized that Grevious was ducking behind a huge rock just sitting there to keep me from taking the CP. I attacked him and he swiftly countered, within seconds I was dead. He then quipped some hubris remark. 👍🏼

    (10.) Boy this is just fascinating, the battles are never the same way twice. 👍🏼

    (11.) A B2-RP Rocket Droid was fighting me at Command Post E and got flanked by an A.I. clone on his right. It turned and started fighting that one too. This is way better then how the A.I. used to be pre-Learning A.I... Before they would be totally focused on you and ignore the other friendly A.I.. This is a huuuuuge advance, good work devs. 👍🏼

    (12.) Once (near match end) Bossk and Darth Maul came at me in the AT-RT that got really wild, fortunately for me my team reached 100%. 👍🏼

    (13.) I love the aggressiveness of the A.I. now it's exciting. 👍🏼

    (14.) Very cool Geonosis map loading screen the stars pulse and fluctuate now. 👍🏼

    (15.) I love the positive affirmations we get from the announcer supporting us when we are doing well. 👍🏼

    (16.) A.I. team assists are waaaay better. They help out waaaaay more. 👍🏼

    (17.) Match 5 Darth Maul by himself dropped my AT-RT by using: Spin Attack, Lightsaber Throw and hacking at me with his saber. Aaaaaand again in the same match Maul slashed me from behind on the AT-RT and in 3 moves it blew up. Epic, just epic. 👍🏼

    (18.) As a clone Rocket Trooper with an A.I. Rocket Trooper assisting me we tried to drop Maul. He killed both of us. He hacked the first guy down who fired his missile and then deflected all my lasers back into me killing me as well. 👍🏼

    (19.) A B2-RP Rocket Droid fired his missile blowing me up while I was rocketing straight towards him. 👍🏼

    (20.) I was soaring threw the air as a jump trooper and Maul threw his saber at me when I was straight above him. He slew me dead. 👍🏼

    (21.) Thanks DICE for fixing the BARC speeder controls, they are amazing now. 😎👍🏼🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🤗

    Rants and mild rants:

    (1.) Heavy class with the shield activated still has the shaking glitch but it seems even worse now then before the update and no longer looks like there shaking with fear. Now it looks like they are having a seizure. This occurs intermittently.

    (2.) Commando Droids still do not using their vibro blades to melee at close range.

    (3.) Super Battle Droids and B2-RP Rocket Droids do occasionally use their rockets but not nearly enough. The A.I. only will use it if you stand there or make a straight beed in the air rocketing. The learning A.I. does not realize

    (4.) Why does the A.I. have no Star Cards? Please pick out for each A.I. the Star Cards that would make them the toughest to beat them please.

    (5.) The Assault class flash pistol (when flashing enemy A.I.) whether in "Instant Action" or "Co-Op" is having zero effect on the enemy. The effect should be similar to the blinding effect a flash grenade has.

    (6.) After playing like from 2am to 7am (5 hours) I backed out and latter tried to go back in to "Instant Action" I got stuck in an endless Geonosis loading screen. Going out to the main screen did not fix this issue so I cold booted my X-Box One and went back in. Sure enough as usual that fixed the problem.

    (7.) Can we get the stationary turrets on Geonosis's CPs to rotate 360° please, thank you. Otherwise they are kind of useless being their range is so minor.



    Foot note: I will continue to review as I play them, different maps and difficulties at a latter period in time.

    Conclusions: Overwhelming job, I am in awe at what you have done devs. Truly beyond stunning. Way to get us more aggressive A.I. in matches...

    Most of the issues are fixable and very reasonable.
