  • Completely forgot to check out the ship maps for co-op 😅 in fairness there was plenty else to keep me entertained!

I also wondered why it said 20 for reinforcement AI! 😂

Felucia in particular feels really action-packed on console. Barely got a moment to myself 😂

AI vehicles are so fun to fight. Having all this extra customisation is just great.

14v14 feels great to me. I didn't mind experiencing some stuttering on Felucia every now and then, it's worth it to me.

New weapons are also really fun to use.

Surprised to also see 2 Tatooine maps for Co-op too! Agreed that Jabbas Palace as the Empire is basically a control the choke-point match. But I'm not sure I mind that too much, true you don't get to see more the map, but then again you're defending, so ideally if you're doing well you shouldn't be letting the enemy push you back anyway. I feel one map like that can add some fun variety. But I do understand the aversion some will have to it too.

The Mos Eisley map is definitely my preferred of the two! Never much liked the Palace even in Arcade.

Does anyone know if Mos Eisley Co-op has a daytime variant too? I only played it once and it was at night. Daytime always looks so much more....resplendent 😁

yeah they have day time, I've never seen mos at night though.

I think both, Jabba's Palace and Kessel are too small for 4 phases, so the CPs are too close to each other. Make it 3 phases and it would be perfect.

Yes, Mos Eisley has a daytime variant. I believe every OT Coop map has every time of day, that is available in GA.
  • Attention: DICE

I can confirm the vehicle AI is severely bugged on the PC version only. On Xbox One X it works flawlessly.

At first I thought that the walker AI was overwhelmed with 32 v 32 troops, so I lowered it to 14 v 14 to see if it worked as good as it worked on my Xbox One X and it still is just walking in circles, looking up at the sky and not fighting anyone. Also, it appears droid and clone tanks are doing the same thing.

Please port the same vehicle AI from the Xbox version to the PC version.
  • I wonder if Jabba's Palace and Kessel will be added to Supremacy and Instant Action next month? I never would've guessed that they'd come to Co-op...

  • The new Co-Op Inside-the-ship maps are there they're just labeled as Geonosis and Kamino (I think) for the PT, don't know about the ST.

And the new Weapons are great! Well, 3 out of 4 of them imo.

E-11D: This gun is great for the assault class it's kinda like the default blasters every faction gets but it can be modified to make it better. (Didn't explain this blaster well) I'm gonna be using it for a while might I say.

T-21: This blaster is incredible! I can't explain just how great this blaster is! It's a slow firing blaster different from all the rest but is accurate at long range like a specialist's weapon was given to the heavy class! I don't know if a lot of people like it but I'm definitely never taking it off! And I didn't really care for the heavy class before this weapon!

Dl-18: This is another blaster that I really like, not as much as the T-21 but probably as much as the E-11D. With the improved cooling and reduced spread modifications it is a beast imho. But I can also see why some people have the repeating mode mod. But anyways, I'm only going to change weapons in certain situations.

Cycler Rifle: This blaster isn't one I'm fond of. It's cooling power is bad, the damage is ok, the recoil is just terrible and the mods aren't that great. It doesn't shoot through shields (which I was hoping for but I know a lot of people didn't want it because of it being too overpowered.) I know I'm not going to be using this blaster that much because of all this. But again it is my opinion.

A lot of you probably knew about these new blasters but I was just giving my opinion on it.

Great update. What a long way these games have come. The low point of 2015 release, the high point of getting Skirmish, the even lower point of 2017 release, and now another high point. Working my way through each Instant Action map with each faction.
Ajan Kloss was super fun and crazy with heroes and vehicles on both sides. Really great. Prior to now I was kind of MEH about that map, but now it's got so much happening!
Takodana and Jakku, it's too bad they don't have any vehicles, but its still a full on battle. Takodana isn't a super interesting map without the castle, but it is what it is. Always enjoyed the layout of Jakku though.
Definitely looking forward to OT maps. Definitely want to take the battle to the sky with starfighters on both sides of Instant Action. That would really top off the "epic battle" experience. Maybe they could open up the map boundaries so that starfighters wouldn't be out of bounds constantly unless they did tight circles. Takodana, for example, has that big lake that you can fly over in Galactic Assault. Obviously no ground forces can go there, just the air vehicles, by the nature of the terrain.

Tried Instant today again just to try. At launch it was nothing amazing And ...now its absolutely amazing! Best mode in the game. It's so consistent and so free of annoyence.

If you have gotten bored of the game then this mode will do it.

Can't imaging how happy those with crappy internet will be about this!

That is true that it is free of annoyance! If I want to fight Heroes I turn it on if I don't I turn it off. No one's camping in cheeky little spots or on the objective or camping in the menu waiting for a Hero! Everybody's fighting and pitching in! But I still want to see this gamemode grow!!

I'm just glad toxic members (who were thankfully a small vocal minority) like him didn't win after taunting the Star Wars playerbase for years saying we'd never get offline content because online multiplayer is somehow more superior/important (it isn't). His low-key condescending trolling in every offline thread here and on reddit did not go unnoticed or was forgotten. He may not say it was trolling but when you deliberately go to offline threads just to counter every positive post from a player thats not doing anything positive for the community.

IA and co-op have been a massive success, DICE has even mentioned the player count is much higher than usual and the celebration edition sold well. Many of those players who came back or tried the game came for co-op and IA, I know because many of my friends came back or tried the game for the first time because of those features alone.

    yup, he was a tool,
  • This is star wars. It has different rules from other franchises and I believe pve star wars will always be more popular than pvp star wars. Pvp is too restrictive for what people want and expect when they think of playing a star wars game.

Oh yeah... how could we forget him? For 4 years he railed against the single-player community, calling us entitled, whiny, bad kids, and so on and so forth. Repeatedly he insisted that Instant Action would be too hard to make, that it would be a waste of the developers time. He was so insecure about that at what point, he had a friend of his (who was a moderator on this forum at the time, though not anymore) go out of his way to censor single-player discussions. Can you believe that?

Look at where we are now. Instant Action has not only been added to the game, but it has been getting a lot more support than Skirmish ever did. It's been getting regular updates, new maps, AI improvements, bug fixes, and new features and customization options. Everything we've wanted since 2015 is finally here. And Blazur...? He hasn't appeared on this forum since they announced Instant Action.

Absolutely, the immersion it would create. Imagine flying a Blue Xwing on Scariff. I've been having a really good time on Ajan Kloss as well, beautiful map. With the OT hopefully(!!!) Coming to Instant action, I'm so excited. I feel the same way I did years making playlists on BF2 PS2. Taking down stormtroopers, crushing the rebs with Chicken walkers, dueling with HERO AI. I mean it's just not something I thought would ever happen. I stand impressed by the continued support of this game. Offline is important, and they are doing a great job for us.@andytheavs @EA_Tom

interesting but would really only like coop offline with split screen.

waiting for instant action crait and starkiller.
  • if your on pc get the free hero mod. Play geonosis set all sliders to max and you will get pretty much vehicle only combat. so 32v32 tanks

OK, but to be fair, dataminers found GA with bots in the files but the devs later said, it was just for testing purposes. So it could possibly the same about this one. On the other side Supremacy (and the IA version) will likely be complete at the end of march and we don't know, what they'll give us after that, so it's definetely possible.
  • theres already an offline coop mode it works with attack only, and if you played you know bots don't work well offline in coop. Instead of dividing their attention between 4 players its just you. You can't win.

Wow! Of course this doesn't guarantee anything, so nobody should take this as gospel.

But I wouldn't say no to offline co-op...

I would hope its splitscreen too.. I would imagine there would have to be a lower bot count on an offline version and I don't think even the online version has many allied bots.. so maybe these things could allow for splitscreen?... I mean...it would be built off of"Co-op" after all 😂

And that might make more sense too.. one objective mode for strictly single player, one for splitscreen?.. I'm getting ahead of myself now, I know.

  • I’ve seen random time of day from match to match in CoOp in OT. Can anyone confirm this to be the case across all eras? Can anyone confirm random TIME OF DAY in IA?
  • Id still prefer a Starfighter objective mode if they really do add more modes.. but I wouldn't say no ☺️

I still really want STARFIGHTER ASSAULT OFFLINE. But I wonder if we’ll see a more “Galactic Assault’ type mode offline as well.
  • Id still prefer a Starfighter objective mode if they really do add more modes.. but I wouldn't say no ☺️

i agree. feel like resources should be pushed more for all maps to go to instant action. (capital ships, crait, starkiller, jabbas palace, kessel), and then they should add a starfighter objective mode over just adding coop. but yeah anything is good for offline and coop is basically all bots so i dont see why it wouldnt be possible. but to me its not as fun as instant action because its just pushing forward or falling back but no real control of where you need to go. instant action allows more freedom to do whatever.
  • So loving all the IA stuff, But apperently from Datamining and Looking through files They found Loadout options but another thing they found...6mbd1bx5bq03.jpg

I hope offline co-op is functional in split screen. I think co-op would be easier to do in split screen than IA.
I am the same user as Elimelech401, that account was not tied to the game. I am hoping for more Skirmish with split screen and hero AI.

  • Heres more proof on the Instant Action Coop. Ripped straight from the game files
  • Heres more proof on the Instant Action Coop. Ripped straight from the game files

So the mode has been implemented in the menu and is partially playable by itself, nd fully playable with mods. That means they're actively working on it. I think it's extremely likely we'll see this in the March update alongside Scarif.

Interesting. Proves that the bots actually use Battlepoints to use vehicles and heroes just like us in a way which is pretty neat.

Also since I recently upgraded my PC I can now get Battlefront 2 for the PC so I can hopefully try out Mopheads mod and have much larger Instant Action battles than before :)

All I need to complete the game now is Starfighters available in Instant Action and Coop to make the outside battles more immersive and possibly a Instant Action version of Starfighter Assault with the objectives.

    One can dream.

If you make the bot count 3 allies and 4 enemies and put all the other sliders besides Heroes to 0 you can do HvV in Instant Action.

But that only works best on the smallest maps right now.
  • So from what I see offline CO-OP might be truly coming, meaning the capital ship interiors will be playable offline regardless of been in supremacy offline. This is huge and I am really excited to see what comes next in March alongside Scarif.
  • If co-op does surface in offline two things are for certain. Firstly offline co-op will have to be restricted to the current max amount of autoplayers on current generation consoles and secondly this mode will likely arrive a month or two after March content drop.

Probably you are right. Offline content is the content that makes a game truly good and durable. But I personally don't think it is a problem to have 14 vs 14. They could add Heroes vs Villains offline now that they have all heroes and villains playable by the IA. It can actually be done by setting 3 vs 4 on instant action and having friendly and enemy heroes enabled.

I agree that 14 v 14 shouldn't be a problem because co-op maps are sectioned off into stages. As for HvV in instant action don't the Ai still often spawn as troopers/droids ?

If they do bring CoOp offline I truly hope that we can see some ATAT walkers (or insert large vehicle here) trudging up the map. All you need to do is let them wreak havoc firing on the enemy. They can be taken down with normal weapons ( no ion cannon mechanic necessary).

I’ve been disappointed to not see them on maps like Hoth and Endor.

I doubt AT-AT's will feature in co-op, probably AT-ST's for empire and Taun-Tauns for rebels.

Yea I played the COOP Hoth map as the Rebels yesterday and it didn't really feel like it needed the Walkers. It would still be cooler with them and the snow speeders and Starfighters though.
  • May I add a few suggestions? I’ve made some threads about it but I feel like I’ve been posting them in the wrong place, since this is the place for offline content:

    -AI controlled ATTEs

-ATTEs as a playable vehicle on some other maps (maybe even off rail MTT and ATAT😁)

-playable gunship (AI controlled also)(U wing, LAAT)

-ability to choose skins for AI

-other variations of maps ( theed palace, the beach on kashyyk, GA geonosis, cloning lab and barracks of kamino, etc)

-ability to make a playlist of maps

-change default health settings (similar to arcade)

-the ability to choose what kind of heroes and reinforcements are on the battlefield.

IA would be perfect with these settings.

Nice Suggestions! You brought up a suggestion to have a playlist of maps and that just reminded me of this:

    https://www.artstation.com/artwork/8lq96Q

I saw it on Reddit and fell in love with it! I don't know who did it, but it changes the UI imo to look a lot better but if you scroll down you will see some IA changes and quality of life changes such as loadouts/presets for different modes, having all base weapons for every faction unlocked and a store for the ingame appearances and much more! I really like what they did. It just reminded me of it when you said playlists.

IA would be perfect with these settings.

Nice Suggestions! You brought up a suggestion to have a playlist of maps and that just reminded me of this:

I saw it on Reddit and fell in love with it! I don't know who did it, but it changes the UI imo to look a lot better but if you scroll down you will see some IA changes and quality of life changes such as loadouts/presets for different modes, having all base weapons for every faction unlocked and a store for the ingame appearances and much more! I really like what they did. It just reminded me of it when you said playlists.

Tbh I really love this set up, it looks good to the eye

May I add a few suggestions? I’ve made some threads about it but I feel like I’ve been posting them in the wrong place, since this is the place for offline content:

    -AI controlled ATTEs

-ATTEs as a playable vehicle on some other maps (maybe even off rail MTT and ATAT😁)

-playable gunship (AI controlled also)(U wing, LAAT)

-ability to choose skins for AI

-other variations of maps ( theed palace, the beach on kashyyk, GA geonosis, cloning lab and barracks of kamino, etc)

-ability to make a playlist of maps

-change default health settings (similar to arcade)

-the ability to choose what kind of heroes and reinforcements are on the battlefield.

IA would be perfect with these settings.
