I'm hopeful that the class system will give us fun gameplay. I've read time and again that this is better than the star card system, so I guess I'm just banking on other players' experience that it is so.
My only fear is that there aren't enough proper options within a class to make it fun for multiple type of players. I just don't have any experience with other shooters to compare against.
But I'll adapt and hopefully enjoy the new way even more. At least I won't be starting from scratch like I was when battlefront 1 launced.

If they do it similar to Battlefield1 there is a lot of variety.

Classes encourage teamwork they don't create it. It's meant to be a way make players weaker yet allowing teammates work off each others weaknesses to be stronger. However like any other online shooter ever to exist there's always adults and young pubescent teens who try too hard to be the one on top the the leader board with the most kills, best kd, highest rank, all trophies unlocked, number 1 player in the world, who ultimately play to build their ego, win on their own, cheat or use loopholes if they have too, rather than winning or playing as a team and just playing to have fun.

No perfectly built class system can always force people to play a certain way. Most people are just glad to have classes so it's more semi balanced (hopefully) and authentic to the films, because it's really silly seeing Bespin Wing Guards and SandTroopers on hoth.

Quoted for truth. You can't force people to be team players, but you can design the game in a way that encourages teamwork.

It'll ruin the game if it's a snipe fest imo. In the end I think everyone is going to run the meta anyway, always happens, that's just the nature of gaming. I still think the forced to play as a team thing is just that, forced, not gonna happen. To many older guys wanting a mature game that's gonna mostly be made up of kids, and then to force them to play like adults. Again, not gonna happen. How many young people have a strategy or care about anything not fun, very few, all they care about is kd or how fast and fun is the game. Remember, it's fast fun action most younger people want, not a chess match. Not knocking a slower pace strategic game, I just don't think this is the place, that's why there's games like battlefield1 to begin with. I for one liked the battlefield/cod fast pace of the 15 game, and it was actually fun, not another snipe campfest like most fps games. I also wanna have a good time with party/clans, yet still be able to play alone and hold my own, that's what 15 did right. If they take that away I think this game dies a much quicker death than the 1st.

I got Plants vs Zombies GW2 so I could play with the younger ones. That game has a much younger player base, but way more teamwork than the current Battlefront. Sadly, it's actually more fun online than the current Battlefront is. It ain't right that I have more fun playing a kids game like Plants vs Zombies than I do a Battlefront game. Don't underestimate the young players.

That's quite sad to hear you enjoy it more than the current Battlefront. It tells the current one failed.

Garden Warfare 2 is an amazing game. It definitely is one of those underrated games that more people should pay attention to

I got this game at launch for my son. I have to admit, it's pretty fun. There's a lot of grinding, with loot boxes and all kinds of different versions of the same character.....but they celebrate the most heals, most revives, most vanquishes, etc. The kills/death and other stats are there, but you have to look for them on another screen. The chat I find annoying and mute everyone....because it's mostly kids. But my son loves it and the offline AI bots are kinda fun too.
It's a good game. I enjoy Battlefront more because Star Wars, but it's a solid game that we continue to play.

Maybe the specialist? If anything I think the jumpack should have a set number of uses and a 1 minute cool (if that will apply to abilities) instead of 25 seconds. The longer it takes to use it again the less you can jump all over the place like Boba Fett

Amen to that ....Let them make another star wars game with the -more serious' shooter fan as the target market...

Starcard hand were not the problem it was poorly chosen individual cards and combos that were...they could easily have greyed out cards to stop certain combinations. It was a fine tuneable play style class system without the interface complexity.
  • Only time your gonna get consistant teamwork is in party's/clans or comp. I'm saying it now, it's nothing more than wishful thinking. Do you people realize how many under 15 will be playing this game?

This worries me immensely. They need to neutralise all the massive advantage of playing in a party, not add more

Party playing is a worse, which is why I generally play with one other person tops if it aint family.

ITs just really unbalanced and Unfair playing against Super Pros all linked up in one squad. ITs like having to play Michael Jordan and the Dream team every damn match. Zero fun

I've played in Rainbow Six: Siege against a full party on the other team with just my friend and some random people.
    We win a lot anyway.
Having people in a party isn't really a problem if you get good yourself at the game.

Nope, the assault has it. It's also a better way. I don't want those supposedly pro jumpsnipers.

No way a single infantry player will survive a party of even average muppets... they can make a statement ,but in the end they will get dumped on while taking some blood ( even if the Lag Force is with them ;-) )

I dont csre what you say, I know I've beaten wuth just one friend on my party full team of 5 in multiple games.
You know what happens a lot of the time with big parties? Evrryone talks over eachother, start yelling and laughing and comunication fails more than just 2. If you are good at a game, you can beat other parties, not always, but you can, if you cry about it you may not be as good as you think.

Actual things that happened in our party last night (we had I think 6, all but one mic'd up) : one guy eating chips as loudly as possible, someone visiting the bathroom (mic on), someone making everyone else laugh at all the hilarious screen names that were killing him, an in-depth discussion on how awesome the movie Logan was and of course the natural cursing that comes from playing this game.
Now, we won almost every match because there are some awesome players in this group. So for all the comedy and jacking around, we still pretty much steam rolled the others.

Agreed. I just shared our little story because it kind of piggybacked on your comment. Just because a group is playing together doesn't always mean they're super serious. It's just a lot of fun playing Star Wars with other fun players.

Parties are beatable on X1, but some completely ignore the objective to kill camp. It is satisfying to kill the entire team with a thermal imploder.
