Dennis Brannvall on Reddit

Link to Dennis's Reddit profile. Two most recent comments were from today.

This is what he said:

"No, we're not holding anything back anywhere. This is the biggest game most of us have ever worked on. It's tricky to balance, because the galaxy is too big to fit into one game to the quality that we want to hit. We're actually running out of disc space for the box copies. :)

Prioritizing what we work on for launch and what things we look at for later is very tricky. Should we base it off amount of movies made? The oldest? The hottest era right now? The best movie based on reviews? Or should we just ask reddit and hope they represent the remaining 99.9% of people who'd want to pick up the game?

The strategy that made the most sense was to base the sequel on the first game, meaning anchored in the OT (and the DLC's that not everyone got to play) but move in equal pace both backwards and forwards in timelime from there.

Post-launch, we'll let the community as a whole decide where we go. Obviously, we're likely to run out of things to add from the new movies quicker than the prequels, but every time a new Star Wars movie comes out, a lot of people seem to want to play characters and locations from it. So a healthy balance might be the way to go there too!"

For those who are interested and not on Reddit.

Try not to hate. It's safe to say we will have a buttload of content at launch regardless. Which is something the first game lacked terribly. And DLC is 100% free.

Indeed, what Randy meant was should we(He) base our Content Majority on the Film that is the most highly praised (Empire Strikes Back) or something else? (The Phantom Menace) and than onward with the rest as the most critically appraised film will generally have the biggest audience

I highly doubt he was talking about Rotten Tomatoes and even than he said it was not the direction they are going with

If they're running our of disc space, couldn't they just have the game on 2 separate discs? One disc for the Campaign, and another for Skirmish and Multiplayer. 343 Industries did it for Halo 4, and you didn't even have to swap discs after installing.

Like I said, Halo 4 didn't require you to change discs. You only needed the disc with the multiplayer and Spartan Ops content once; and once you installed it, you could run everything off of Disc 1 without ever using Disc 2 again.

If disc space becomes an issue with Star Wars: Battlefront II, I don't see why they couldn't do the exact same thing.

At the end of the day, its not something you can generalise and narrow down.

That said, if there's ever been a survey or poll on this, I'd like to see it. It'd be interesting what different fans personally hold as the defining image of Star Wars.

    Seasons DLC List
Season 1: TLJ content December 2017
    Season 2: Remaining Ep. I-III content that's siginificant + TCW Part 1 (movie, S1-S4 episodes) January 2018
Season 3: TCW Part 2 (S4-S6, Clone Wars Legacy (Crystal Crisis, Bad Batch, Dark Disciple Part 1, Son of Dathomir, and Dark Disciple Part 2 ) February 2018
Season 4: TCW Part 3 (the remaining unfinished episodes) March 2018
Season 5: Novels (Del Rey/Disney-Lucasfilm Press) and/or comics (Marvel/IDW) and/or parks (Star Wars Land sneak peek) content April 2018
Season 6: Rebels (4 shorts, entire S1-S4, Kanan Marvel series, Rebels magazine comics) May 2018
Season 7: Han Solo A Star Wars Story Those who pre-ordered the base game get it near end of May, non-pre-order: June 2018
Season 8 & beyond: whatever Lucasfilm doesn't want to be told in film, novel, or animation or maybe concurrently told at the same time and sneak peek from Visceral, Respawn and Ep. IX July 2018 and beyond
There's more TCW content than Ep.I-III (1999-2005) because more time was spent for the show (2008-2014) = more creations.

If Season 2 consists up of Ep.I-III + TCW Part 1, then Season 6 could be Rebels + Rogue One (film, novelization and comic adaptation additions-deleted scenes + things covered up by reshoots but still salvagable, Cassian & K-2S0 comic).

Season 6 also should have elements from Rebel Rising & Guardians of the Whills. Combining Rebels and Rogue One would bring back more hype for both as Rebels is ending at that time and it's the direct prequel to Rogue One (after prologue scene) or happens concurrently depending on S4 episodes and TLJ Blu-Ray, DVD, and digital release happening at that time. So much content, hoping to see TIE Reaper (maybe Rebels appearance along TIE Strikers) and TX-225 GAVw "Occupier" combat assault tank (confirmed for Rebels) in the game.

how is "most people" subjective? You ask most people who have any knowledge of Star Wars, and they will know Luke, Leia, Yoda and Vader... they aren't going to know Maul, Padme, Windu, etc..

Most people meaning exactly that... most people

Putting Maul in with Padme and Windu isn't fair.

The dude's one of the biggest icons of the Prequels, and not just in terms of being an awesome character. He's used on pretty much every piece of Phantom Menace merchandise and was shown in a lot of the advertising leading up to the film.

That said, I can understand how the Original Trilogy characters would be more recognizable since those films have been around for longer.
We're finally getting the High Ground man! Wooooooooo!

I think they SHOULD listen to people on here or reddit more and not a small selective group like the "game changers" who represent the smallest amount of fans tbh. You listen to the masses....ask the French circa 1790 what happens when you discard the masses for the will of the few lol
I am so sick of the OT anchor!

OT is the core of Star Wars. Deal. With. It.
Yeah seriously, the Battlefront community is increasingly showing hatred of the Original Trilogy.

yea, because DICE listens to us on content... you know so much about everything. From the Frostbite engine to what DICE and the game changers discuss.

    PT sucks so bad IMO
    Why so serious?

The movies were garbage, the content that can be usable for games is great. The problem is that the movies were so trash that it tarnishes people's view on the content.

he said prequel trilogy, as in all 3 lumped together. that movie was the only serviceable one of the three. it just couldn't make up for how bad the first two were

I think its just Prequal fan boys. Or trolls. I mean I said this a million times,i love the CW era, i like the whole inner workings and how Palpatine manipulated the Galaxy to pave the way for Sith dominance and the Empire, but the Prequals from writing and film making perspective are pretty bad. Im gonna do the annual "watching of the prequals every few years" this time with my boyfriend, I always try and give them a chance and every time, Im disappointed...with episode 3 being the one i can kind of tolerate, idk why lol, maybe deep down its a soft spot or its "oh god Im finally at the end!" Or because like seeing General Grievous and Lee's small part at the beginning lol.

OT is better, and that not an opinion, its fact. There is a reason filmmakers, critics, Sci Fi and Mythology experts, and film teachers site those First 3 movies, and not the Prequals when discussing star wars in depth

I actually liked all 3 PT movies, but I know many disagree with me.
