Ok, I’m back pedaling

I griped about how I didn’t like the beta but over the course of 3 days, I’m starting to enjoy it more.

Some things I realized that made things more fun...

1. You have to force yourself to take things a bit slower in this game compared to BF15.
Running in and gunning gets you killed REALLY fast in this game.

Take it slower and play more tactical.

2. I was NEVER good at snipping in BF15 and at the beginning of this beta I used the same style troops I would’ve used in the first game.
I realized this wasn’t working and tried getting out of my comfort zone and to my surprise, I’m getting a lot better with the specialist class and getting 6-9 kill streaks in some matches.

3. Star fighters become more fun once you take your time and learn the new controls.

It’s still a bit frustrating but nothing a little extra time learning won’t fix.

Obviously there are some things that need ironed out but hopefully they’ll get fixed.

So that’s my confession and will stick with my preorder.

  • Lol. I honestly think the game is pretty close to perfect, minor minor tweaks. Most people's frustration comes from playing too much like bf2015 and not taking the time and patience to notice all the differences in the game. They are ALL for the better

it feels more controlled. not a jumpack bowcaster bacta bomb spam fest. oh and remember when they first came out with homing missle. that thing was mad OP everyone was locking on in half a second and blowing people away until they nerfed it into absolute uselessness. welcome to world of EA Battlefront 2015, wild swings from OP to usless. Be ready.

I feel like I’m in the minority that loved BF15 and some of the things like homing shot were never a big gripe for me but I do think some cards shouldn’t have been equippable with other cards (bacta+stim+bodyguard)

The thing I wish was different for BF2 is swapping out your cards eliminates the use for other things.

It’s cool certain classes can’t use other classes cards but I’d like the freedom to use any combination of cards for each class for example, Heavy trooper I want to use the shield and barrage together instead of barrage taking my shield out of the equation all together.

    No....Most people's frustration comes from:

    1. Random squads that change every death.
    2. Very little teamplay.
    3. Random starcards.
    4. No iron sights in a shooter. Especially from Dice....
    5. The overall casualness of the entire game to an extreme degree.

This. I'm with you pal. I loved BF15 and hopped on earlier today because this beta is frustrating me to no end. I hate how certain cards automatically replace other cards and I can't choose which. And the classes serve no purpose when you can't heal anyone, and eveyone has unlimited amo. Plus you can't spawn on ANYONE so why even have classes when there's no squad/partners??

I feel like they made it more complicated/restrictive under the guise of being "more depth". Same thing with the jump pack. I'm not impressed with this beta. And don't get get me started on the battlepoints to get heroes. I get enough right when the match ends or I was just short of enough and then the match ends. Then I have to start the process all over again. It should be like hero hunt is in BF15.

I really like that you cant stack things like bacta bombs and armor perks. I like the class system because it divides gadgets and perks that have no business being used together. I like the slowed movement and the nerfed combat roll. Basically the things that were abused by everyone in the last game are gone. We will have to wait and see what all the starcards are though because I'm sure there will be something that is widely OP. It is dice after all.
