Thank you for explaining this to the forum @N3gativePrime... I've been saying the same thing on a few threads.

Some times a negative (criticism) does equal a positive (future gameplay experience).

    You are welcome

I've got a buddy who still into his mid thirties says a game is cheating any time he looses. Then he'll try to get his opponents to agree that the only reason they won is they game cheated in their favor...

Yeah, we don't play games with him anymore

Ive got a friend that vandalized my neighbor's house, that I apologized and cleaned for, and he didn't pay collateral. I still think hes a decent person. no judgments here.
  • I have seen many posts covering the topic "Why the hate?" "Is hating battlefront 2 the new cool thing?" and many of the responses I have seen have been people praising this game for being great, calling it hilarious that others have concerns and that it is annoying. This made me wonder, what dictates what hate is, and why is it different from criticism?
While the answer to those questions is entirely subjective, for this post I will base it off of this sentiment: Criticism is a well stated "complaint" used to better the entirety of the game, usually offering alternatives to the system currently in place. Hate is a complaint, maybe with some merit, that is presented with the sole purpose of tearing down, offering no constructive opinions. That does not mean hate is useless. You should look at the sentiment behind the hate. Maybe the hater has overstated a sentiment shared by other people.
Many of the concerns I have read are actually very legitimate. Such as the concerns about the Pay to win aspects of this game, the lack of weapons per class (4), balance concerns with heroes, even the concerns about customization lacking this time around can all have a good constructive arguments about why they are important. In fact, most of the front page complaint posts fall under the Criticism category. All of this being said, people are complaining about people complaining, and for those people I have a question. When is Criticism of a product someone payed for warranted? Are these people not entitled to their opinions because of how early this game is? Why is it annoying to see these posts that people clearly care about, I personally see no harm in sharing concerns, in fact the only outcome I can see is overwhelmingly positive! Is this game only to be praised, with nothing bad ever being said about this "gem" of a "perfect" game?

I only get annoyed when people say trash like "Not as good as Battlefront 2 2005" or "This game is gonna flop" or "Pay2Win", without giving their reason why they believe this and what their proof is for their opinion. Angry Joe's comment section on Battlefront videos is torture for me.

    That is understandable.

  • #20 hours. Sorry to interrupt ! :/ just ***** is getting real
  • I think the biggest problem about criticism comes from both sides and it's about communication. Most people here can't pass from the "git gud" or "Fu**ck EA" opinions, no matter how many facts or numbers you bring to the conversation.

The interesting thing about having a services game and a forum is that our opinions can actually make a future change to the game.

To me people that claim they will not buy the game are for the most part liars, and people who hate every thread about questionable thing in the current state of the game, simply don't see how dangerous their complete lack of interest about something, can be in the long run. In the end they are to sides of the same brainless coin. EA put it right when they said "shift in the marketplace" after closing Viceral Studio... the market changes, and it is the consumers the ones that ultimately have the last word about how it change.

I think everybody here want the game to be a complete success, specialy the die hard Star Wars fans. Feedback has never been so easy to get to developers, specialy before release. And while many users can see this as annoying, I thing that it is the most powerfull tool the devs have to ensure both the quality and sales for their upcoming products.

Most people here that complain about the complains, can't separate the hype they have for the game from the fact that it is far from perfect (mostly because of the introduction of the microtransactions which is a system usually implemented in free to play games and is just making a first apperance in AAA titles with full retail price since about a year ago. So is understandable that it's gonna be both contreversial and imperfect). Does that makes it a bad game? NO. Not by a long shot... but it ceartanly could be better.

So far the game looks more than great, in mechanics, content and thecnical aspects, and to me it's really sad that most of the complains are tide to a single questionable thing that is overshadowing most of the positive aspects of the game for so many people. And there's no one to blame but the publisher (EA) and no one else... not the devs, not us (the players that actually bought the game) and not the bystandars that are still unsure to whether get the game or not.

In the end I trully hope that all the microtransaction, and "pay2win" controversy (Justified or not) does not drag this game down for critics and fans. All the other complains I've seen (even some of my own) are a matter of taste or preference and could or could not be ever on the game without making it objectively better or worse.

  • I heard news about the death threats made by some angry fans. They're really proving that the gaming community is becoming more psychotic over microtransactions. This is unacceptable! What has happened to humanity in gaming? At first we all are like having fun, but now the moment micros are announced everyone has gone savage! I just can't believe they're acting like this!
