  • Yes, this is what I want! I want to play the maps in different position, just as in turning point, you play the map backworths which gives you new positions and playstyle. For me, supremacy and galactic assault are awesome, but aren't my favorites. If the game want to be even better we need this gamemode conquest! It works and it is fun. Please add this
  • I get the consensus that a lot of people want a conquest mode. Myself, personally, I'd prefer it not be implemented. Something along the lines of the push/pull mechanic that is in Battlefield 1 maybe, but not the standard capture the flag conquest mode.

    I really like the gameplay of Galactic Assault, I like that there are fairly linear objectives creating a "front line" mechanic instead of the willy nilly run and gun of conquest. I like the fallback mechanic that cuts down on spawn camping and establishes a focused flow for players.

    It's just my opinion, and for the bulk of you that don't agree with me in this thread I respect that, but I always find conquest modes a nightmare of cheap kills, spawn camping, coupled with a gameplay that feels more like a team deathmatch with flagpoles. I'd rather they keep conquest out of multiplayer in Battlefront and continue to iterate with new Galactic Assault maps as well as taking some of the existing maps and changing the objectives for increased replayability.

    If a conquest mode is added the place I could really see it shine is in Arcade. Include it as a singleplayer/coop with current large maps. They could tweak up the AI to capture and hold points, give us a command wheel so that when you spawn with an AI team you can tell them "Capture X", Hold X" or "Stay with me". Let us set the parameters similar to what is currently in arcade, but also allow us to choose the opposing sides (granted it's not cannon, but does it matter in single player if you want to pit the Republic against the First Order). Actually I think this should already be in arcade.

    Just my own thoughts on this, again I know in this thread I'm probably a minority, but I doubt I'm the only one with this opinion.

    Well, you have already your linear game mode. The game itself is great. But I am sure that many who are going to play the game for a longer periode of time will get bored of it. You can learn all spawn point mechanics, farms, the same frontline and the matches will feel all very similar etc. due to the linearity.
    However, we shouldn't forget that Star Wars has much more possibilities than other shooters which aren't playing in the "future" and are limited due to "old" technology. Additionally, dynamic control points are a good idea. Every open maps mode would be a welcome addition to the current linear gameplay.

  • I'm primarily a Battlefield player. Been playing it since Battlefield 2 on PC and Conquest has always been my favorite game mode and has been my favorite mode in any shooter up until Battlefield 1. Surprised they didn't continue the trend and put it into this title as I think it would be easy to implement, fits into the Star Wars theme, would offer more replay-ability since there would be more game modes, and it would fix the ongoing complaint that I hear that games don't last long enough.

    I hope they add it in soon.
  • Here Here! A mode similar to Conquest to give the player more choices. Spawning with Random players is not promoting team play & not being able to stay close to friends in my party during GA is extremely disappointing. I stopped playing GA a while ago. The other smaller modes are fun though.

    Yeah, even the game is great and a significant impovement over the predeseccor, GA became already boring for me. I still play it, but every match is the same. Nothing exciting happens anymore.

  • Make the original BFII, but with enhanced Graphics and mechanics, the new hero and infantry reinforcements system, and with vehichles like in the old one. The maps in EABFII could definatly work in as maps, given the big landscape they stretch out over, but they might be a bit too narrow some places.

    I agree. If we are getting our "free" open game mode on the ground, one in space would be cool too, as much as I do love Starfighter Assault, even a bit more than Galactic Assault. Dogfight? Man the turrets? Bomb the frigates and capital ship(s)? Infiltrate and board the capital ship? Transport troops? Escort? Make your call.

    Boarding would be nice as well or more capitals/firgates which you can move and really bomb (not torpedoes).

  • Galactic Assault is too linear - conquest would save the maps and make them more viable and extend the life of the game significantly. Add in extraction to the small maps then fix up the other details and poof - perfection...hopefully.
  • Please DICE give us Conquest it was the main gamemode from the original battlefronts so I don't know why we won't get it in this years battlefront.

    On Reddit are now daily Conquest Request threads. The mods there already removing some. Please DICE and Dennis give us Conquest. The game needs it.

    Yeah, the linear maps were already boring for me, but the todays playlist killed all ST maps for me. I played them over and over again and no variety, every match felt the same. Same for SA were every 2nd map was the TLJ map.

  • GA is a smaller Operations mode. Conquest is the superior mode. GA and Operations are way too linear, you limit playstyles when you setup gamemodes to be this linear. Its very predictable.

    It isn't scripted, put in what ever you want. All Droid Run is is domination with moving control points.

    Indeed. I couldn't play for 2 weeks due to christmas and family, but I didn't really miss the game. The linear modes make the entire game too casual. And many aren't interested to spend additional money on casual games.

    My problem isn't that it is linear, supremacy is linear but can be a lot of fun if the teams are balanced.

    The objective modes in this game are too scripted and always play out the same way.
