I'll go First Order. The only thing I'm not 100% sure on is will we be able to unlock things from the opposite faction after the event?

Not sure I've understood this correctly, but if the loot crates go to the factions winning, it's only reasonable to choose the faction which most people seem to lean towards in the polls.
