Faction Challenges Have Begun

Your journey into Star Wars™ Battlefront™ II began last month, but the true trials lie ahead. With The Last Jedi Season hitting the game, you’ll be asked to make a choice: will you reclaim the Imperial legacy with The First Order, or side with the Resistance as they strive to keep the galaxy free from oppression?

This question’s not a trivial matter, either. It will be presented to you in-game the next time you play, allowing you to side with the faction of your choice, a decision which will follow you for the remainder of Season One. Make your way to the Career tab and you’ll notice new Challenges that are tied to your faction.

Completing these will not only reward you with Credits and Crafting Parts, but help edge your faction closer to victory, giving all members of that side additional rewards. The other faction will get a Crate of their own with lesser prizes, but it will hopefully come with a drive to fight back even harder. Victory in the week is but one step towards overall success, and a bigger reward at the end of the Season.

The first weekly Challenge will test even the most skilled combatant, tasking you with getting 50 kills with each trooper class. You don't need to complete it before the next Challenge is added, though; each new weekly Challenge will be added to your Career page, and you're able to complete them in any order. Just make sure you finish them before the end of the Season, otherwise you might miss out.

This month will continue to be eventful with the release of free content inspired by Star Wars : The Last Jedi . Finn and Captain Phasma will join into the fight for the Resistance and The First Order respectively, and you'll be able to battle across the Galactic Conquest map of Crait and Starfighter Assault battle of D'qar. Iden Versio's story will continue as well, with *Star Wars * Battlefront II: Resurrection releasing, free* for all players.

This is only the beginning. Take your first steps today, and prepare for the full power of The Last Jedi Season as your Star Wars journey continues.

    I just wanted to add that bunching up four classes in one challenge is a terrible idea at this point. Would be great if you could add subgoal display to a challenge so people can see if they have completed a specific class subgoal for that challenge...

    In this case something like:
    • Assault: 30/50
    • Heavy: 50/50
    • Officer: 15/50
    • Specialist: 0/50

    While you are at it, the entire career menu is in dire need of a revamp.. (this has been suggested by multiple people), like displaying challenges that can be collected at the top, the ability to hide already collected challenges, being able to sort by progress etc.

    I mean, you got to have some competent UI designer hidden away in a dusty old corner that would have thought about this in the first place? Please dust him off and put him to work on this.
  • Finally I got all my 50 kills with each class. Will other challenges follow? Would be great!

    I can just support Blackwolfe's idea of putting in a subgoal display cause it helps everyone to see: Oh nice, only xxx more kills then I can change class.

    Not only that one which need subgoals display :

    - the 2 ones where you have to win an attack on each starfighters map , and win a defense on each starfighters map , for example

  • It’s kind of odd that they say Crait is going to be a Galactic Conquest map rather than a Galactic Assault map. I think it’s a typo but I do think it might also indicate that they’re working on Galactic Conquest as an offline mode in the future.
  • There was an issue with the Blast challenge not showing up for some of us specifically First Order faction . Does this mean we can’t complete all the challenges and get the rewards? I’m sure it was a resistance plot to prevent the First Order from winning. Will this be addressed?

    For instance I was logged in all night last night working through the “eradicate the scum” challenge and checked multiple times to see if there was a blast challenger and it wasn’t showing up. Checked again this morning and nothing. When I got home from work it showed up with only 25 minutes remaining. Needless to say I only got 3 matches in before it disappeared.

    Many online gaming news sites also noted there was only one challenge for the First Order.

  • Pretty cool, I have 500 kills in every class anyway.
  • I was surprised and happy to see the Faction war start. Definitely went First Order.
    We need to crush this rebellion >:)

    Having the sub goal would be nice so I can track which classes are at which point though.

    That is something this kind of challenge really needs. I don´t know how many matches i played just to figure out with which class i had to get the needed kills.
    As a matter of fact the challenge kicked in while i was playing Galactic Assault, switching between classes depending on the phase i was in.
    The challenge showed up after that match with a count of 53/200 in the career screen and i was not able to to figure out how many kills i got with each class.


    A subgoal display for the season challenges as suggested would be very helpful and should also be shown in the challenge goal screen after matches.

    You (EA + Dice) should have realised this from the diorama debacle.. just saying! Data drill down in 2017, come on!

    Whilst I love the game the front end menu UI is terrible, up down, in out, in to here, in to there, just to check the progress (or lack of it) in a challenge or event or daily challenge, season challenge, etc... Come on! We should be able to see on the weapons selection list a graphic representation of how far we've got on a weapon unlock or upgrade unlock. The information is there, use it.
  • I just played a single class until I had fifty kills, then started on the next class, but honestly, polished it all off easily enough that way inside of a few hours across a couple of days worth of playing. But not having running totals for each class was pretty ludicrous. Almost as bad as the reward crate that no one had bothered to name, so it just had a file name designation instead.

    I mean this is all pretty sloppy stuff, and doesn't really instill a lot of confidence.
  • Yep - reckon I'll have to try and keep a tally and play as a single class only - but it feels a bit wrong to _have_ to do so.

    Of course another problem is you can't dip in and out of playing online and checking your progress without it taking a really long time... (another problem with this game altogether)

    Especially would like to see/view career whilst we wait 45 secs for next match, amazed this was not put in, very clunky for a AAA 2017 title.

  • I have one question regarding faction challenges.
    ¿If FO has 10 to 1 Resistance players in their lines, isn't it obvious that FO will win all challenges? or ¿am I loosing something? ¿Is it percentage based? Thanks for your answer!
  • I'm having the same issue. Since the start of the "Eradicate the scum" challenge my kills are not updating. Every once in a while 1-3 kills might show up. But most of the time they do not. Very frustrating to say the least.

    I average a kill count of 16-34 kills per match depending on the class, map, and the 1-4 laggy enemy players that never die no matter how much damage they take (plus their auto head shot bull). >8( This challenge is taking a lot longer than it should to finish due to the tally rarely updating correctly. It basically counts 1 kill every so often (per match). It's something like 1 kill counted per 6-10 matches. Even with wins. :s

    I unplug my XB1 X and modem every night. (Cold boot) So it's not that.

  • [DUPLICATE CARDS] make me unhappy.
    Again, I appreciate the extraordinary work that your team has invested in to this game - and I can't say enough: the attention to detail is second to none. (I was staring at the Gorilla walker last night - wondering if the Battle could get any more ridiculous). I honestly believe you should receive an OSCAR for your phenomenal efforts.
    Now to the complaining;
    Duplicate cards converted to 200 credits is worse than the Jack-**** that don't participate in the match~ it is needless to say - but I will - they are f...king worthless. Please find it in your heart(s) to convert them to some measurable amount of Crafting Parts or those useless Crystals.
