Ion turret range is way too far

Can already tell this is going to be a problem. Have now run into two straight matches of heavies dropping ion turrets at high points near their spawn.

The turrets can lock on instantly and shoot across the map. It may not kill, but it's essentially a way to mark enemies across the map.

  • Those heavies don't have a shield than. Enjoy

If they sit back, it's a problem because they'll rack up assists while doing nothing. Just wait till you play Jakku and Endor places that are extremely open you'll see exactly what I mean.

It'll mark enemies and allow specialists to then one shot. Extremely cheesy tactic.

I think turrets are fine, but what is needed is more customization for each class so we can access mods/attachments way better than now, maybe even on the fly.

The officer turret is fine. I'm simply stating that the range on ion turret needs to be fixed. If it needs that range for vehicles, so be it, but it can shoot infantry across the map right now.

Specialists can see you through the walls without turret. Ion turret easily avoidable, especially on long distance. It can give an assist or even kill a lazy sniper, but it's pretty rare.
Btw, ion turret's anti-aircraft range sucks

I get what you are saying, but instead of nerfing it give us more options to deal with the turret instead.just my opinion-all good.

You're seriously not getting what I'm saying. It's not easily avoidable because on maps lile Jakku and Endor, it's a wide open plain. On Jakku especially it locks on as you spawn. It then marks and puts damage on you. Specialist don't even need to have their binoculars out. Instead, they can look where the ion turrent is firing and shoot at the person it's going after.

The range on it is ridiculous.

It's going to be hard to counter on certain maps because of that range. That card might not have a similiar range and will likely take longer to lock on.
  • It's not that wide and open. There are a lot of walls and trees to hide behind. It can't lock on as you spawn, because you spawn behind walls.

Why is this person standing on open space?

Omg...you're speaking like it's a weapon of mass destruction. Have you ever used it yourself?

LMAO, ok hot sh!+... didn't you could each objectives by hiding behind a tree. Even if it doesn't hit you, you've still been marked by the enemy, so it eliminates a potential flank spot.

Is English your first language or do you always have trouble with reading comprehension? You are insta-locked and fire upon the second you move. On the first phase of endor and jakku, attackers do have to run into a small opening at some point. On endor, especially, if you're trying to get that left objective as an attacker, there is no flank point avaible because a turret in the back can cover multiple positions.

No, I'm simply stating that the range is too far and easily abusable. Dont believe, play a match with me on one of those matches and I'll show you.
  • I try to place my ion on an incline pointed up at the sky, but it just doesn’t work as anti-air and with ion Torpedo and resourceful to buff it’s cool down it’s still not enough to prevent air strikes.

Ion turret is green, ion torpedo and resourceful are blue
