    Definitely need more blow-uppable stuff (nice phrase :) )and maybe some different types of Objectives. Maybe we can escort a convoy of damaged Capital ships? Bomb a land target? Defend a shield gate?

    Anyway, I'm also an Objective player, but you can do that and still get a high score. You can always shoot down targets of opportunity as you make your way to the Objective and make it easier for your teammates to also play the Objective. As long as the team wins, though, the score isn't really that important.

    Wouldn't it be cool, if you had an SA game mode where you have to protect a convoy or something? Perhaps that could be an atmospheric Geonosis SA, where you have to escort the transports carrying the AT-TE's. You could have the first phase in space where you have to clear the way for the transports, perhaps destroying a few turrets for objectives? Then the second phase in the atmosphere, where you have to defend the transports until they get to the location, how awesome would that be?! And for bonus points, it ties in with the GA map.

    No one is adding any more content because they can't find a way to monetize it, probably. I play every once in a while now, it's not worth playing as much when the game came out. So now we're stuck with EA Bucks or whatever they are and a ton of crystals I have zero use for. If they were going to add maps, they would have already.

    I bet they're dying to close this thread and forget about it;)

He also says he cannot say anything about SA because they are still releasing content... I would really encourage people to read them.

I am not saying that they will release new content for SA for sure (I seriously doubt they will try to do anything big with it), but they can still change priorities at some point.     Why EA/DICE did not immediately start monetizing skins after the loot box fiasco is concerning. That can't even be done now if they wanted to as many of us have built up large reserves of credits with nothing worth spending them on. Yeah Chewbacca with a band-aid, Dooko and his pj's and more CW skins, no thanks.
    This SW game is casual focused on new players, heroes and an emote wheel. Mario Kart SW thread gets a dev response but this thread gets treated by the devs like it has ****. It really is a cowardly action by the community manager and EA to not put a reply in this thread but not surprising at this point.

    It's ok, Eejit, stoopid and many others are blocked, for whatever reason. Personally, I see it as an infringement on human rights(Freedom of speech to be more precise), but I get laughed at for saying that usually.
    And to understand EA's logic, one must become EA's logic. Here is a tutorial on how to understand EA's logic.

    I hope this very much educates you on the matter, as everything becomes clear once enlightened.

    my hopes are fading.... my eager optimism has faded into a tiny desperate spark in a giant empty hangar... like this thread - a vast meaningless portal of false hope... the seasons will roll by; in July 2019 there will be a few more posts and speculations, then December 2019 arrives with a new Star Wars film and this thread gets a few more comments... then 2020 and still no responses... fading... 2021... the servers are shut down.   • Member in BF15 seeing the B wings flying around? Non playable. Such an overlooked ship. Even the sequels ripped it off! That resistance transport and I personally think the ski speeders on crait have a definite B wing flavor to them. Was my favorite as a kid and even now.

    To be honest I really was not a fan of the B-wing at first but that changed. The SWBF 15 DS and R1 DLC’s were a lot of fun. Although it was disappointing the B-wings weren’t playable it was still great seeing them in action. Unfortunately the B-wing is nowhere to be found in SA.

    Downloaded X-Wing collectiors edition last night. At least that has the b-wing as playable.

    In the absence of any SFA newness and the limiting ‘event’ of this weekend I had to get my SW fix elsewhere. Brings back fond memories.

    Has anyone tried SFA in arcade after the AI fix? I doubt it’s much better without s massive increase to the amount of AI playing

    I tried SF arcade yesterday, though I had more new issues instead of improved AI.

    - friendly AI fighters were shooting at team members
    - AI was flying out of map boundaries half the time. I couldn't chase them unless i flew out of map boundaries myself

    I can confirm this, having just tried to play it myself. (Fondor/GCW/Team Battle/75/ 10 v 2). I was an A-wing then Yoda’s SF.

    1: AI TIEs circle behind the Star Destroyer in the out of bounds area and its fringe.

    2: my AI team mate never spawned in (which is fine as I didn’t want one but 2 is the minimum player count).

    3: only 5 AI were spawned in at any point (despite setting it at 10)

    4: AI were taking each other out.

    Can any other SFA check out if the same happens to them? Thanks.

    F8RGE The spawn timer is quite annoying and needs to go unless you can provide a reason it needs to stay we can't think of. Can't spawn on teammates, not spawning in that close a proximity to the battle. Does it have to do with hero ship availability? What gives? If there is no valid reason for it then can you please have the team remove it?

    There might be a good reason why SA isn't currently supported by the squad system in the way like how it works in GA and other gamemodes, and that may be due to balancing reason since SA's atmosphere works more differently.

    In SA, it is often much easier to get close to and attack the objective targets with many shots and missiles as an Attacker, at least for only briefly just before you get killed (while in GA you may or may not be struggling a lot to avoid being killed before you even get to the objectives depending how things are going). If this gamemode would've allow players to spawn on teammates, it probably might make the already easy-to-reach objectives for Attackers even more easier, meaning that they could finish their objectives too quickly than they should have. I also don't think that removing the spawn timer is a good idea either, for the same reason as well.

    The Attackers would probably make use of the Squad System and/or no spawn timer more effectively than the Defenders because the former already knows where their objective targets are and even the least experience players can easily land lots of hits (just before they go down) that not only tends to be big targets but also most of them don't even move across the map, while the latter need to fly around to seek-and-destroy and need to aim at the ships more carefully that tends to be smaller hit-boxes that move around a lot. Sure, it's easy for Defenders to find many enemy ships to kill, and even killing non-objectives AI that fly around randomly does count, but if they cannot instead find and kill enemy players even faster to also be able to slow them down when protecting their objective targets, then they will have a tough time.

    That being said, I do agree with you on the part that the spawn system in SA needs to be improved, and I have two suggestions to make:
    • Either we could get our old spawn system back that existed prior to the introduction of the Squad System, in which we would've be able to spawn quickly by skipping the count down only when the spawning group in the screen reach up to four.
      or...
    • We could be able to make use of the Squad System in SA, but with a different twist. Rather than having any squad members spawning on top of each others like in GA, the three squad members can only spawn on top of one particular member who was assigned by the system as their "Squadron Leader" except when spawning as any Hero ships, as long as their Leader isn't in immediate danger (a bit similar like how it worked when spawning next to Vader and Luke in Battlefront 1 (2015) Fighter Squadron). This could mean that the Squadron Leader may need to play tactically in terms of survival in order to use this Squad System more effectively so that his/her wingmen can spawn on top of him/her safely. The Squad Leader could also have a small buff bonus of health and maybe even damage increase of primary weapon and missiles (can be stacked with Boost Star Cards), except when playing as any Hero Ships. If the Squad Leader dies, he/she must respawn from the starting area normally as he/she cannot spawn on top of his/her squad members like the way they can to the Leader.

    Otherwise, if neither of these two cannot or will not be implemented for whatever reason, then I rather keep the current spawn system to make sure the gamemode stays balanced, unless anyone likes to make more suggestions that hopefully does not bring any risks.

  • I love this aspect of the the game more than anything but rarely play it because of the horrible BP and EP rewards. I can level up my heros so much faster in HvV, but it is insanely harder in SFA to level just regular ships, let alone heroes. and in HvV SF, you get nailed and you are stuck in a normal fighter? elimination, I get it. Id like the option of being a hero permanently.

    annnnnnnd death star runs. the trench. my dream in an xwing since I was a kid. Any game that includes that is a winner in my books. Tired of winning yet EA/DICE???

  • Should add quick spawn during the bonus xp event for SA modes.

    Getting pumped for Triple XP this weekend, time to level some Heroes! Hoping to see a lot of the skilled pilots again, last event was great. It was nice getting some people in to Hero SA as well, need to have more of these events to keep the mode viable. Or change the mechanics so you can respawn as a Hero ship, which would make the mode viable all on its own. Either way, hope to see everyone in a cockpit soon!

Either there will be a huge focus on starfighters for the new mode (to the point of maybe even including Hero ships) or we might get new things.     More likely it’s completely abandoned with the departure of Criterion from the equation. These XP weekends will give old players and new alike, the chance to upgrade their heroes and villains before the game support is dropped entirely.

    Shame because SFA is undoubtedly my favourite and the most robust, bug-free mode in the entire game. More in depth than the add-on superficialities of Fighter Squadron in BF2015 (which was small maps and dogfighting and that’s all), and beautiful to look at, it speaks volumes that the best mode was not one of DICE’s.

    Now, where are those b-wings??

  • Aww, triple xp after I grinded for two weeks to finish maxing my hero ships.

    You know, saw a lot of new players during the last couple starfighter assault xp events. Maybe this will spark interest from new players and we'll have more voices asking for content.

    You'd think a big giant thread with so many replies would be enough, but I guess not.

    Aw shucks, you made me blush :) You're an ace yourself, so I'll be sure to look you up when I'm getting ready to throttle up. Last event brought out some really good pilots, so the more help we can get, the better!

    This is true but EA/DICE did make FS for 15 so.... maybe some ported maps? Anything would be welcomed at this point but we can't even get a "Hello there."

    Unfortunately yes Criterion have moved on. Its a shame because SA is the least buggy and most well made mode in the game. It just needs some refreshing content!

    I'm super excited for this weekend I can finally get some hero ships to level 40!

    Get tid of Yodas Ship its not even correct, add obiwans and anakins version!
    My priority list:

    1. Fix Split screen mode bugs
    2. Fix bugs
    3. Bigger play area for Duel mode
    4. More love for Starfighter modes
    5. First Person only mode
