    I think a large CS type mode is sorely needed to refresh star fighters. One maybe inspired by SW.9 TROS/the Campaign:
    Starfigher/Trooper fusion!

    Phase 1: Starting in starfighters, players must destroy turrets to clear a safe space to land/"board." First team to destroy X turrets (i.e. all the turrets on one side of the ship) proceeds to...

    Phase 2: Players must now escort/destroy incoming ships, that fly and land at the "boarding" zone. These determine how many lives you have in phase 3...

    Phase 3: "ground" phase atop the ship, to finish taking down the ship. Would work like phase 2 in CS, but instead of firing at targets, several explosives must be planted at key locations and defended. During Phase 3 points can be used for starfighters (so you can constantly be in a starfighter if you choose/have points), and a battle proceeds like in GA (ground and air fighting simultaneously). If all explosives are not detonated before you run out of lives, players will return to Phase 2 (this adds more pressure for the losing team to catch up before Phase 3 can begin again).

    This mode could be very unique, in that Phases 1 can still be completed at any time (i.e. the enemy team has boarded your ship, but you can spend points on a starfighter to continue working on Phase 1. If Phase 3 fails but you have completed Phase 1 in the allotted time, Phase 2 would immediately begin for both parties upon returning to starfighters. Should both teams be in phase 2, the first team to safely escort X ships begins Phase 3.

    There's always reddit and the Discord threads as well :)

    Not on Discord, so I can't speak to its content but a lot of people like it. As for reddit, it can get a little toxic at times, but for the most part it's a great way to see more...unfiltered...content.

    This is a fantastic idea! Any of the devs should take a look at this. I don't normally @ anyone on here, but @EA_Tom might be able to forward this to the team.

    I agree. They obviously have the talent to create great looking maps and very detailed ships, and then balance everything out to make the gameplay fun. The Star Wars movies already provide a bunch of additional settings where more battles can take place, and more ships to add as well.
    A stand-alone game would probably need a single-player campaign, and I don't know how good Criterion is with story-telling, but EA/Dice/Disney could probably help with that. Or maybe the player is injected into some of the more impactful space battles from the movies with specific objectives. Maybe we'll get to pilot a Tie Fighter as Iden Versio, an X-Wing as Poe Dameron, or the Razor Crest as the Mandalorian.

    Anyway, yeah, there should be a StarFighter Assault game built by Criterion.

    DICE good at storytelling? The campaign of BF2 doesnt reflect that, don't you think?
  • Guys, we need to be realistic. Yeah, many of us see the huge potential of this game but since launch we've got 0 skins for two of the most beloved villains (Maul and Paps). Sounds unreal to me that they give us anything that we've praying for before other "mainstream" content.

    Good point. The campaign started off great then went downhill after 3 or so missions.

  • Game 1: Star Wars Battlefront III - the best of 2015 and 2017, more HvV modes, all maps ported, hero system reworked, new movie-inspired modes (how about escape the Death Star as Han, Luke, Leia, and Chewie? go from there)

    Game 2: Star Wars Starfighter Assault - bigger battles, Death Star trench run, multiple Death Star II missions, asteroid chase like in Empire, massive Clone Wars space battles, etc etc etc

    I would definitely buy both

    Agreed. Good to see.

    @EA_Tom Do you have a favorite starfighter and if you could, know it isn’t happening, but if you could add a new SA map, what would it be? Lastly, what starfighters would you add? Again not saying for this game but for any future SA like modes in the next game.

    New versions of Tie fighter (1994) and X-wing (1993) -games made by modern graphics. That would be my SFA dream game.

    You wouldn’t be forced to do both, you could simply chose to stay as an infantry player and defend your ship hangar, infiltrate the enemy Capital ship, or battle in space.

    We don’t need Starfighters in GA because of Strafing issues and simply no objective for Starfighters in that mode, we need large scale space battles where Starfighters are outside and infantry are in capital ships.
  • I'd love to be able to drop a Capital ships's shields with my Starfighters blasters, punch a hole in the side with a torpedo, and watch as opponents get spaced.
    Is that a little too much for a Star Wars game?

    Motive was in charge of most the story stuff, so I would probably put it on them, not DICE who build the mechanics and assets.

  • If we dont get the new starships and locations from Ep 9 in Starfighter Assault it will be CRIMINAL!
  • At least put the Resistance Y-Wing and FO TIE Bomber into the current ST maps, throw us a bone here.
  • Convert Geonosis GA to Geonosis SA.
    Cover/Intercept Hyena Bombers targeting the AT-TE's before they can reach the objectives.
    Cover/Intercept Tri-fighters targeting the AT-TE drop ships to prevent reinforcements.
    Cover/Intercept ARC-170 strafing runs targeting Spider Droids.
    Cover/Intercept Y-wings targeting Droid transport ships.
    Include a brief sandstorm phase, because weather happens.

    Death Match on Naboo. First to 500 wins. Besides, it's another opportunity to fly the N1.
    Also, shouldn't the N1 be an available option for SA Ryloth?
    Death Match SKB, Hoth, Tatooine, Jakku.
    Kashyyyk, shoot the flying snail tanks down.

    Sounds absolutely awesome to me. It also sounds no so many resources needed.

    The secret-not public-only dice knows-list apparently put skins above starfighters contents even if on public threads is the opposite.

    We lost guys, there is no reason to fight anymore an already lost battle.
