    No. If the class had a smoke nade you should be able to equip it with the binoculars.

    Binoculars are the most useful gadget the class had.

    I find Improved Scan Dart in conjunction to recharge vanguard to be really useful, IF scan dart actually works.

  • I am so happy to see so many agreeing with this. Let's keep it going! This is something that really needs to be added to the game/added to the Specialist. Would be amazing!

    I think it would be cool if the Specialist had some Star Wars version of C4 too. Maybe the detonite charge?

    I think it would be cool but the Detonite Charge needs to stay for the Heavy. It could be some form of remote explosive. Kind of stealth like.

    Scan dart is recon ability and thus should be a specialist card.
  • I’d be happy if this was all that dropped in the next update. It’s a frustratingly easy fix to make Specialist viable. We saw with the EA questionnaire that specialist was by far the least used class with less than 12% of players asked using it. I don’t even main Specialist, but I’d like to switch between all my classes without drastically having to find the game more difficult and not be able to go for objectives because I’m screwed in a firefight.

    The essence of Specialist, it makes the game 50% harder.

  • Hopefully a patch next week for cosmetics. If we have to wait for another update for Specialist to be fun to use I’m gonna be so frustrated.
  • Kinda digging up an old forum post here, but I stumbled across this while trying to find out why the specialist has the flash pistol (then called scout pistol) in the class preview video on the official website but not in the game.

    Yeah, pretty much 2 years later and I agree with this. Flash pistol and stinger pistol should be swapped on the classes that use them.
    The specialist would have more use for the flash pistol as a sidearm than the assault would, and it would just make more sense to have scout troopers using the canon weapon they use in RotJ.

    Considering the last major update as of now, the Age of Rebellion, changed the death trooper to have their canon weapon and Leia to have the canon ability of thermal detonators instead of flash grenades, maybe now is the time to ask for this again.
    Let the devs know we want the flash pistol on it's canon user with the scout trooper, and put that star card on the specialist!

    Yeah. Let Assault keep it, and give it to Specialist. Swap it for the godawful bubble shield if necessary.

    Giving the Stinger to anyone is a terrible trade until it's fixed, and it won't be fixed until the devs build themselves a seawall against the tsunami of hero main tears whenever something threatens their precious glowstick raver wizard killstreaks.

    Another (more fitting?) way of giving scouts their actual gun could be making the Scout Blaster the model for infiltration and giving the flash pistols effect to a stun blast (like in ANH or RoS) for the assault. I miss that one in the game too.

    I honestly don’t think that’s more fitting. The flash pistol is absolutely outperformed by every assault weapon with its default fire damage, however it’s significantly more useful in CQC than most of the sniper rifles. It gives this class a way to combat in CQC when the infiltration is on cool down. However it’s really well balanced because it’s so underpowered in a fight against other classes primaries. The flash pistol would give specialist a fighting chance at CQC without affecting how the class plays or the balance in any way.

  • A proper sidearm for the specialist would be nice, also the stinger nerf should be reverted.
    The last nerf was totally uncalled-for.

    I was merely talking cosmetics here. The circle shaped stun blast fits the assault (regular stormtrooper) better than the Scout Pistol and that one fits the specialist (scout trooper) as an always equipped ability better than the EE-3. A mechanical transfer of the abilities can ofc be done independent of this. There's a lot of possible cosmetic changes like this which would improve immersion through the small things without affecting gameplay in a major way (different rocket launcher model for the different aerials for instance, HH-12 (the one Baze uses) for rebels, RPS-6 (clone wars an rebels) for the empire, Jetpack Rocket for the Republic and the current one for the Resistance).
