Heroes Vs Villains 2015 Remastered - Concept (New Mode)

  • Yep I want it too, for me I never got to play as a hero that much in BF15 WA (mostly because I could never find/remember where the tokens spawned) and whilst I am probably picking up a hero slightly more in GA, it's often the wrong one at the wrong time (Luke on the very early stages of Crait, not much fun when everyone is sniping from miles away). The thing I really like about playing as a hero is wrecking through troopers and feeling really powerful which you got on HvV2015; it was a small price to pay for me being a trooper some of the time and you could do well with a trooper if you played it smart. It was also way more tactical, you had to think carefully about what you did, the amount of times I played when the opponents Luke got destroyed right at the start of the game and we won easily...

My dream scenario would be a massive HvV arena, like a Galactic Assault size map with 20 v 20 heroes, but that ain't happening... Era accurate HvV could be cool though, with Rey, Finn, and Poe fighting Kylo, Phasma, and Hux/Snoke... or Yoda, Anakin, Kenobi and Padme/Mace fighting Maul, Dooku, Grievous and Jango. More hero modes brings more variety, something this game sorely needs.
"I felt there was a large amount of human chauvinism... also I felt very bad that at the end the Wookie didn't get a medal also... oh, all the people got medals but the Wookie who had been in there fighting all the time, didn't get any medal, and I thought that was an example of Anti-Wookie discrimination." - Carl Sagan on the subject of Star Wars

Back in the days of Battlefront 2 (2005) some servers of Hero Assault would have team kill on and admins would make it free for all. I'd really like a free for all mode with heroes and for once no reliance on team play so I could get hammered while playing and don't feel bad for my team, haha. But I can see the problem it would cause with clans wrecking random players and stuff like that, and since most people seem to hate free for all I don't really see that mode coming to life.

Yup that's what the concept says
  • great idea
  • So boring and and I missed so much the old one. Bf2015 HvV most enjoyable game mode of my life(%95 of my playtime and my playtime is about 1000 hours)
Bf2017 HvV on the other hand lack of tactics and a childlike mode

Nope, you are wrong, this version is so boring compared to bf15 version
What could be the big news? The big news for me is that Anakin Skywalker and Obi Wan Kenobi are said to be definitively playable in the future. Unfortunately, the fact that these two are coming to the game is now considered the big news. While these are the foundation stones of the Star Wars universe. Very sad.

I just saw this for the first time, I really like it, would love a couple more hero based modes...hero hunt...or smaller hero v infantry modes... extraction...

I’d say 50%, but I wouldn’t mind it being added.

Just my two cents. The new version without troopers is way better.
I didn't like having rounds of only being a trooper (in the old mode) and I didn't like the fact a lot of times heroes would just hide while infantry hunt and take down the heroes. Made the gameplay a little stale when heroes were hiding the whole time.
That being said, I'm not crazy about the current mode with selecting a new target.

I could be alone with this, but I think a CS:GO style version where once you die you wait until next round. If the timer was short enough it wouldnt be a long wait until next round. This would also make it more competitive IMO.
But with it being Star Wars, I could see people not liking this idea.

    TL;DR
Like new mode better. Would like a combination of the two, honestly. Round based, with NO infantry.

  • Bf2 hvv is great. Bf1 hvv was weak. Hero hunt sucked.

  • 6 vs 6 with objectives like in cs go would be awsome 3:30 min. timer to plant a bomb on one of the 2 sites , but without coms it's a non-sense for console players

maybe we can bump this after every patch till they at least add some sort of new hero mode thats decent if not the old one from BF15.

BF15 was all around better. It's a shame we got this mash fest version instead.

Yeah ragdolling mechanic is semi cool but not the stuns. It's as if Dice knows people like HvV the most and try to force them to not play it as much.
  • Really great ideas. I really hope to see the elimination-style mode brought back!

This is a really cool blend between the old and the new. We always heard that playing as infantry was the worst part of the old mode, so that was something we removed in this one. You want that back?

No, absolutely not! There are enough beat-downs with the infantry if you're not careful on GA. There are too many ways to die as it is. Heroes vs. Villains should remain just the Hero characters only.

I like the new version of HvV, but like someone said, it lacks strategy, specially when you face a "runner" and all he does is make you run after him endlessly.
In the previous SWBF the objective was approached with team-effort and everyone was a fundamental piece. Infantry was important because they would serve the purpose to lure the enemy into your ground or to create a diversion so you could finish them off. And if you were a good player, you could get your fair share of kills.

So yes, I would be very interested in playing the 2015 HvV, even more than the new one.
  • Agreed
  • Bring it back we have battle points now. No rounds, battle points.
  • Dlc Hero vs Villains in battlefront 2015 great fun 6x6. Blast with hero’s, instead of a kill countdown have a hero countdown

Totally off topic but since the patch - i CANNOT Bossk and before i would beast - need help and am completely aggravated all the way around - spent round after round trying to sort out why in HvV i could dominate before and now am the assist kill king - aaaaargh! HELP?!?!?

A Hero-Hunt game mode with map and era-specific twists would be great... I'd love to play out Order 66 on Kashyyyk, and Utapau, and Coruscant!

They should add a remastered, damaged Jedi temple from the original battlefront 2 for a order 66 style hero hunt mode. This should be restricted to Jedi heroes only (yes including rey, for more options). It would be 3 Jedi heroes vs about 9 clones for 5 minutes, and if a Jedi dies they turn into a clone. If they add Anakin they can put him in hooded on the clones side. That would literally fulfill my Star Wars fantasy oh my god.

Even lightsaber combat was more strategic, even the fact it was more clunky. You couldn't just spam block because: a)timer b) good player would break it with heavy in a second. Here it's, as you said, button mash fest without any strategy but run/camp.

Hero Hunt is also a mode people are scared of. Remember most of playerbase struggled to get 10 wins for that milestone

HvV is an absolute mess....it's literally the equivalent of some kids playing Star Wars toys and mashing the figures together.
The biggest problem is the ability to respawn...meaning death is not a big deal....so everyone just goes in head first mashing the buttons, on BF2015 you had to be tactical cos if you died as the hero you respawn as infantry....was so much better

I'm definitely for this. I do like Battlefront 2's HvV much more than that of the first, because playing as infantry was always so boring, but if you start every round with a hero and only have to play with infantry, that would be great.
I don't really see how that mode would become less "button mashing" though, although that description of the current HvV is definitely an overexaggeration in my eyes anyways. But in order to balance out that, they will have to balance HvV gameplay in general, helping blaster heroes against lightsaber heroes a bit. Reverting the roll to the way it was before patch 1.2 though is no solution in my opinion.

The elimination style made you feel more important as a hero. The new one sadly doesn't have that effect.
