Lots of cheaters

I’ve seen lots of cheaters playing this game with almost no gamer score using aim bots and special buffs. Some take no damage, others kill with one hit. Can we get these players banned?

I think banning players who quit is too harsh and impossible to enforce properly. They could have quit for a legitimate reason, or it could have been a connection issue or something.

Yep. I have been kicked off or stuck for 10 minutes at a time, because of a horrible lag. It has happened a lot recently. I do not think that banning players is the answer.

    Bingo.

Ever since the AFK stuff was really bad a while back, I haven't really encountered anyone doing it - at least in HvV. It is kind of funny though, I notice a lot of the time a match starts the whole team with start looking at each other making sure everyone is actively playing haha.

I always wonder where those hackers are hiding. Are they afraid of me?

With 850 hours of playtime since release day, I can only remember ~10 people of whom I could have legitimately said they were cheating.

Most of the weird thins that happen, like not detected hits or hit going "through" walls, is easy to explain by either lag or server sided lag compensation. I often see that I shoot someone close to a corner, kill him, he receives no damage, takes cover aaaaand dies behind the door of my shots. Same thing happens to me as well.

I think the last guy I saw who definitely had an aimbot was a specialist using the NT-242 on Kamino like one week ago.
He ended up with 37 one-shot kills in melee combat on Kamino P1 as Defender. But I cant even remeber when I saw another cheater before this incident.

It also seems like there have been a large increase lately. I am seeing more and more cheaters lately than before. I still do not believe that EA even bans cheaters in this game.
  • Get a PS4
  • EA never bans cheaters, that is what ruined fifa for me, please not this game too :(

Agree sometimes the problem is the connection or the server, I always get killed behind the corners for example, but there are a lot of cheaters anyway, people that i ve reported for example about 130 kills with cr2 playing only assault no heroes, 100tickets down in less than 5minutes, like 30 -40 kills just after 1minute, a lot with the el16 one shot on Heroes, the most used, also people with aimbot on sniper, and this i very funny, a nt242 with the aimbot is very funny, also an aat destroyed level 30 with extrahealth and reinforce cards in about One second with the laat, at full health, people with 40-50kills with the laat on naboo, for me these things are cheats, the others impossibile things in the game, and seriously i seen the impossible in more than 900hours, are problems of the game, bug, server, but sometimes it's really hard to believe it. Anyway i ve send many report. Maybe is the zone i dont know, but months ago at least i saw at least One at day, now is better.

I'm convinced there's some sort of cheats possible even on PS4, although it's rare. The most common one is seeing people being immune to damage - your weapon puts the "cross" icon that indicates you scored a hit, yet their health bar doesn't move. And I'm not talking lag effects here, I'm pretty familiar with them from before I had a fibre connection.

I have noticed that in Monday, but the Moderators here will das sth about the mysterious Fairplay tool and that they "ban" cheaters. Still known afk bots and proven AIM bot cheaters are still playing.
    Aint't that funny?

Yeah, they close threads and tell you to report the cheater... Then, you report them and see them playing for the next 3 months...
  • they sooner ban people exposing cheaters than the cheaters themselves, that says it all about EA really. Worst company award for a reason

Recently, I thought I saw a cheater. Then, I saw three players complain about the lag. Bad hit detection is the worst cheater.
  • I agree with several of the posters on this thread that a lot of so called “cheaters” are just really good, the accuser is just bad and they want to blame it on something else (this has been me before), or it’s a lag effect. I’ve been accused of hacking a couple times- for a supposed aimbot as Han Solo in HvV and for a supposed no damage hack in GA.

The truth is that I don’t even know how to hack even if I wanted to. I’ve logged around 450 hours in the game and play as Han Solo in HvV more than any other character/class/game mode, so I’ve gotten pretty good at playing as him and countering villains with him. The truth about the second accusation I listed above is that the accuser just sucked at aiming, he got emotional when he lost, and it was easier / felt better to blame me for hacking than it was to accept the fact that he sucked. Again, this has been me before too, so I can empathize.

That being said, I have also encountered players who were, without a doubt, hacking and it’s especially frustrating to see those same players still hacking 3 months later after the entire lobby reported them at the same time.
  • I play the PC version and every once in a while I'll see a cheater who has been around since Nov/Dec. I reported players for the first month but then it became obvious that no action would be taken unless they were using the OHK cheat so I stopped wasting my time.

EA's server security is a complete joke. EA servers' performance is a complete joke compared to other big companies that manage AAA titles.

I played Star Wars: The Old Republic for almost four years, over six months of SWBF2. In both cases server performance was pretty bad. In SW:TOR the lag spikes (19ms normal, then spike upwards of 150ms+) were an every-day occurrence.

If EA would manage their servers and keep them secure on a routine basis they would have a lot more customers but in the end, they cut costs wherever they possibly can to improve their bottom line because of their investors.

They don't care. I reported an anti-afk bot, went through the arduous task needed to report a player on PS4, they claimed they handled it, yet he was back playing today doing the same thing ruining game after game.

They even deleted my threads regarding the situations. They really want nothing to do with policing the playerbase in-game.
  • Honestly, I'm at the point where I will never play another EA online game because of their servers. They were terrible in Star Wars: The Old Republic and somehow they are worse in SWBF2. Unbelievable.

I've been online gaming for over twenty years and from all of the posts and complaints I have read since launch it seems that EA has zero intention of upgrading any server equipment unless they absolutely have to, and even then they will most likely go the cheap route and buy older servers to save money for their bottom line.

They have to keep their investors happy but it seems that they are completely focused on the short-term because it's safer then taking a chance to reinvest for long-term and wind up losing money. I get that. I really do. I just don't agree with it and they shouldn't be publishing online games anymore since they are not concerned about server stability, maintenance, and security.

  • Uh oh, thats a big no no here. Letting everyone know PCs riddled with hacks is a easy way to get the thread locked. Reporting is useless. Just leave the game and hope you won't run into them again.

  • yeah sure lets keep our games in a ruined state, hush hush...

Or expose it and force them to fix it or their reputation will be ruined instead of our game.

I gave up gaming on PC a long time ago. A long time ago (like after X-wing). But I can say that I saw a lot of what felt like cheating on console in SWBF2015 and since I believe that genuine cheating on consoles is very rare (if possible at all) I am convinced it was mostly lag.

I've had a few instances of odd things on this game too since the last patch and since that patch I've also noticed some lag from time-to-time... I don't think that's coincidence.

Yesterday I was on the other side of it in one game I think: I did my fairly regular mess of up of meleeing from 15 meters half way through shooting (anyone else do that?) which should be a death sentence (and usually is) and still managed to finish that animation and kill my opponent and I'm pretty sure I didn't take any damage from them. Either they are the worse player I've ever seen or they were lagged out and probably didn't know what hit them...
  • In terms of quitting H v V games, I've only done ity twice on purpose. First time was because of an obnoxious pair on my team, who tried ordering me around saying I should defend their characters when they were the target, but when I was, they ran off and left me to fend for myself whilst I got ganged on by 3 of the enemy. When I said anything they started insulting me, so I quit to teach those sods a lesson. second time was 2 days ago when I didn't6 realise my PC was downloading a large windowes update, so the lag was horrendous that I could not do anything with my character freezing for 5-10 seconds every 40 seconds or so and then jumping. I at least posted a message in chat about it as top why I was quitting. trust me, if you'd seen how bad the l;ag was, quitting would have been more effective than tryiung to play.

Otherwise, only other times have been EA's servers have kicked me from the game because I'd apparrently "lost connection to the server" :| When that happens it isn't your fault and I've had it happen a few times, more often when I've been in a really great game with a great team and we've been equally matched with our opponents. I hate when that happens.

I did get accused of cheating in a game of Star Fighter Assaullt as I was in 1 hero ship, died and then re-spawned in a new hero ship. Guy would not accept I had over 10k in BP banked at the time as I play Star Fighter Assault the most and nearly all my ships have their star cards maxed out.
